    St. Louis CITY
  1. I am managing St. Louis CITY in the MLS playing with the real world setting, which I understand keeps me from signing or renewing contracts during the first season. That is creating a couple of unrealistic situations: 1: I have reached Nov. 26, 2023, and I will play the MLS Western Conference Final on Dec. 3, 2023. Unfortunately, Aziel Jackson's contract expires on Nov. 30, 2023, and I cannot renew it, meaning I won't have him for this extremely important match. 2: I haven't been able to sign anyone from my youth intake. 3: Following the summer transfer window, I think it would have made sense if I could begin signing players whose contract are up in the next six months. But I can't. This is a smaller issues, since other teams can't, either, so those players will still be available, but it doesn't seem realistic. 4: I have one or two talented youth players whom I'd like to give proper contracts in order to include them in my roster. But again, I can't. I really like the real world setting, but I think the way to both have that and not cause the problems above would be to allow managers in the MLS (and any other leagues that follow the calendar year) to sign contracts immediately after the 2023 summer transfer window.
