here it is the stats of Haller. -
One of the reasons i bought fm24 was the improved AI and yet i find Lyon bidding 5M€ for 34yo Haller that last season scored 1 goal in 20 games. Or Barcelona giving 36M€ for Marquinhos with 32 years when they still have the likes of Araujo, Eric Garcia and Koundé . I really hope that tomorrow the game comes better because with the "high press" that in reality is a mid block at max combined with the crappy newgens system, it has been a bit of let down as i was hoping for a better game.

And you find that normal? Defenders with good passing abilities are the present and future of football and yet all newgens i come across are all worse than maguire. in other positions i find absolute class players like these ones. -

Im focusing 17-21 and scouting south america, north europe and western europe as this regions are the best based on my scouts knowledge, and im going to attach my scouts stats. I find absolute gems on other positions, so i guess my scouts arent the problem. My club has 3,5 stars of reputation and i´ve been in europe competitions for 3 years straight. In previous years i didnt encounter this issue, as the only crappy newgens were pretty much fullbacks. This years i havent found a single decent defender with good passing atribute. -
I started my save with my hometown club and i noticed that the most of newgens defenders scouted by my department dont have even above 10 passing. I saw this issue with others positions such as fullbacks (dribbling) and strickers (jumping reach and strengh). i reckon this is a important feature for people that plays long term saves and its quite disgusting seeing this type of issues.
