0 "What we've got here is a failure to communicate"
  1. Yes that I'm aware. However, the interaction comes when the engine gives you the chance. There's a case that I want to renew a contract of my own player. I'm his favourite personnel, every time he's bothered wanting a new contract I approach to talk then he says that he's no longer worried. Then I offer the contract anyway and one of the clauses is to foreign clubs. which is just too low that doesn't even make sense. The player is worth now 8M Euro, and the agent wants the clause to be 2.5M Euro non-negotiable. I can't talk to the player about it, nor the agent. Also I can't declare interest since he's already my player. When I withdrawn the offer, I can't justify that this is the reason. I can't even offer a super high salary or more bonus in order to convince to remove that clause, since again, no interaction is possible. Makes sense?
  2. That would create an incentive to treat better the agents, and also the other way around. We could refuse to negotiate with some agent saying that because of being picky with other contracts, from now on they should be more flexible on their terms. We could ask a player to leave an agent or change to another.
  3. Currently it's possible to interact with the player's agent in a very limited way or indirectly, such as offering more sign-in bonus so we convince them easier to make the player sign up with us. Situations which could be useful to speak to an agent: When they put the recision clause for foreign teams and we, coaches, give up signing the contract because of that, there's no way to express that the reason of not offering the contract is just because this clause being unacceptable. In the other hand they have a chance to say "my client said that promising him more playing time, would be easier to close a deal" or something like that, that I can't remember That would open to better contract negotiations. Right now I'm trying to negotiate a contract but the agent sets this clause to a ridiculously low value and not negotiable at all. I keep rejecting the offer but I can't even say why. We could have option to give many explanations for a better interaction with agents, but I'll give one suggestion: my budget goes up to this but we're are looking for getting rid of a player which will make room in the budget, so we make a contract amendment or we could already in advance say that we'd increase some bonus in order to replace that gap in the salary. the recision clause for foreign teams is too low for us, but we are open to offer a higher salary in order to compensate the higher recision value. When a player refuses to move to another country because of being not wanting to leave their region, We could have open possibility to add bonuses which would simulate further incentives from the real life. One example is extra bonus for bringing family in. Things that in real life clubs do in order to convince someone to move abroad to a "strange" place. When a staff in a similar way refuses even to enter in a negotiation, We could have open to offer extra bonus, something like: We know that moving to a new country might bring extra challenges but we'd like to have a chance to offer you a relocation bonus for you and family. We could ask an agent, with which we have a good relationship, to recommend some player from their squad or from other agents. That would cut through time and budgeting for observations but it would of course be much more limited. The agent could already bring someone that would at least be open for conversation, even though that club is not very known for that player. The agent would rule an important influence in that player decisions which happens often in the real life. That way we could for instance ensure an extra bonus to the agent. Something that also happens in real life. Random agents could bring new players to offer to our team. Often foreign players have a dream to play in an specific league. Examples of that are foreign players that want to play in the Brazilian league but they don't know much so the agent could recommend the clubs that they have better relationship. A real example is Clarence Seedorf. He wanted to play for the team which is his wife's favourite. An agent could bring these situations up. Some players are free for signing but even though we are searching and agents leak that information to the media, they never come to offer some player. Then other agents could come and offer players for that position that they know you're looking for. I think the list could grow longer but I believe that it could be a good start. Let me know what you think. Thank you.
