Unable to continue the game because I can't register the players

After following the discussion Feria <> Zachary White, I've started a new game, but without the personal data (only the original DB) and an existing/real team. No problem with the registration in this game. Luckily I have the in-game editor to adjust the game to "my liking"... -
When I am in the squad-scre en for the registration of players/squad, I can't continue because the check/cross-boxes aren't available.
