FM23 Advice on how to get trequartista work

Hi all. I playing 4-3-2-1 asymmetry formation with trequartista in AM position. I try some different TI and PI but unable to get him to work. He is normally surrounded by opponent and doesnt get much ball. If he gets one, most of the time is back to the goal and have to pass back to CM or WB. Any advice on how to improve?
