  1. Yeah, I have since figured out from other complaints that if I go back move my transfer budget to salary budget at the end of the season I can double my salary cap to about 60 million or so.  Which is very stupid, that is simply not AT ALL how La Liga salary cap works!  You don't tell La Liga how much you're allowed to spend and they set the cap there, La Liga tells you!  Just embarrassingly bad, lazy design.  I actually started this save, a long time ago, because I was looking forward to the challenge of La Liga finances, of having that obstacle to maneuver around, but finding out the FM version is just a complete fairy tale has really taken the wind out of my sails.

BTW - That 60 million is still low, I think, compared to real life for a club already in a good financial status that made that much profit and had that much money in the bank.  Its less than half my previous year's profit, and less than 20% of my current bank balance.  Real Sociedad and Athletic Club, in real life, are maybe good comparisons to my current save.  Not financial powerhouses like Madrid or Barca, but financially secure clubs that are usually in Europa and occasionally Champions.  Their IRL salary caps are 100 and 125 million a year respectively.  60 million is Mallorca/Almeria level, and Almeria/Mallorca IRL don't have Europa/Champions money nor have they made transfer profit like I have.

This is compounded by the fact that FM salaries are a little inflated (I think) compared to real life, so that 60 million in payroll buys less in FM than it does in real life.

Also, once that limit is set in FM, in late July I think, I don't think it changes all year.  If it is 60 million on Aug 1, it is 60 million on Jan 1 and June 1.  IRL, I am pretty sure, if you make sales you can improve that limit. So if your limit IRL is 100 million, but you make a big sale in August, that limit might actually go up to 110 or 120 million, because you have brought in more money.  And, conversely, making a big transfer spend can reduce your salary allowance, so making a splashy signing has to be carefully considered.  That critically important detail is missing from FM's version.

    Really sad state of affairs

We mentioned a future update, not the following update.

The database for the final version was already closed before the beta came out.

So I'm in 24.3 now and Farense is still being shown to finish 2nd.  Benfica is also predicted 2nd.  What gives?  Incredibly disappointing that SI seems to just not care about fixing anything.  FM24 is a disaster, constant bugs and errors

  3. Thanks @Zachary Whyte, that's a very very cool feature I didn't know about.

In this save (granted, a few months afterwards now) I appear to be tied with 3 other clubs for best in country with 4.5 stars.  My "superb" youth facilities are only 4 stars, while Real Sociedad's "superb" youth facilities are 4.5 stars.  I am a close 2nd in graduates in La Liga (22 vs Athletic Club's 24), and in top division graduates (Atletico Madrid 30 top division graduates to my 29).

The Real Sociedad 4.5 vs my 4 star youth facilities when both are superb is strange.  I can't upgrade mine any further (and I don't think its a board thing, I'm "rich" and owner "loves the club")

I could see a case where I'm not THE top academy in the country I guess but I'm pretty clearly one of the top academies in the country.  Not sure if that's a bug or not, how the game is defining "best" in a pretty close race.  At the very least probably should be a middle ground between "failed" and "passed" for something like this

    Hi @nms1987

What is happening is that your B team is currently in a very low league that is essentially 'hidden' in the database, that's why you can't see the fixture list but they still do play the games, they're not phantom games just not fully detailed.

If your B team was to get promoted enough times they will eventually appear in a league that will be recognised by the database and therefore fixtures will be shown.

Best advice would be to make sure your B team has a strong enough squad to get those promotions needed.

Hey Zachary, I was hoping I could get some clarification on this issue.

Are the games against teams in Nigeria, Bosnia, Germany and Congo the league games my Spanish B team plays, or something else?  What is the best method for managing training and game workloads when I am not able to know when the games happen?  I have had several of my B teamers hitting extreme fatigue or getting injured because I have a big week of training and a friendly match scheduled, without knowing when my B team might have a secret game against a Congolese side.   Additionally, as you can see in my provided save, a few of these guys getting worn out on B team duty aren't even supposed to be available for the B team.  They are on the u19s, with no B or A team availability granted.  Any idea what gives?

  5. My Spanish B team plays in a league against clubs in Nigeria, Congo, Germany and Bosnia?  Do you see that its kind of an issue if my players are getting fatigued from games that I don't know they are playing?  How does this affect training?  After all I have no idea when these games happen, so I'm probably scheduling training on those days... are my training sessions getting cancelled to play these fake games?

  6. Yes I figured it was a UI issue and the squad was on holiday, and I expected a similar response.

It is vexing, however, to continually be told "oh its just a visual or UI thing,", which is the reply many of us got for the issue about playing time displayed.

This is a video game!  It is a visual medium, waving away repeated errors do the very interface the users are supposed to interact with feels disrespectful to the paying customers.  If the UI is broken, the game is broken.

The high volume of these errors in FM24 makes me very unsure as to how to best navigate the game.  It is difficult to have to guess which screens "count" as meaningful and accurate information, and which ones are just another glitch.

  7. Ok, so I made Champions Lg Table after a 2 legged qual round.  Conveniently my weekly auto save actually landed on the morning before the 2nd tie.  So I've uploaded that Ze Porto - Huelva 2038.08.25.fm, you'll have to beat Celtic again for me to make it happen haha.  In that save it shows 299 days left of the Europa Lg promise to Jairo Moreno

My previous season Europa Lg ended after the 2nd leg of the knockout stage against Olympique Lyonnais on Feb 18 2038.  The most recent save I have before that is Jan 29, a day after I ended League Table play.  So maybe you could take Ze Porto - Huelva 2038.01.29.fm and then fail like I did against OL a couple weeks later and prompt Jairo & Co. to take me to task?

You could also take Ze Porto - Huelva 2038.06.19setfornewseason.fm which I've uploaded previously for other reasons to start the '38-'39 season and go from there.

Hope that helps, let me know how those work

We would need a save file from before the transfer happened to take a closer look.

It's possible the player just liked the move to Saudi for long term money and the wrong reason displayed.

Which also feels like an issue that should be addressed if the game isn't capable of displaying correct reasons for things IMO.  Like with the issue on playing time displayed, why have the game say anything at all if it can't be correct?

Try file Ze Porto - Huelva 2038.06.19setfornewseason.fm

Hello, the issue with responsibilities vanishing/being blank is known and we're looking into it.

The issue with B team staff is also known and we're looking into but it is very complex as b-teams work differently country to country.

    We appreciate the detailed information.

Did this ever get addressed in FM24?  I have imported a Spanish FM23 save into it and the bug still exists... does it work the same way for new FM24 saves?

Oh, I'm sorry for false bug report, I did not know that, sorry. I checked for that in the La Liga rules but didn't seem to find it. Perhaps I overlooked it. Thank you.

For guys you don't want to lose, do what Spanish teams do IRL, set it to a ridiculous amount.  Star level Barcelona and Madrid guys have literal 1 billion euro release clauses.  If you're not quite that on that level you can set clauses to not astronomical but still very large clauses, basically prices on the highest end of what you could ever imagine someone paying for them, prices you'd be fine losing them at (40, 60, 80 million ect).  This is what most other Spanish clubs (and top Portuguese clubs) do.  You'll have to pay 'em a little more in wage to get the good clause, but it often pays for itself later.

  11. I mentioned this in PT Data forum but same problem in Portugal's 1st and 2nd leagues.

It also had all the teams recently promoted to a higher league to be predicted towards the top of the league (Farense 2nd in Portugal top league), and teams just demoted from top league to 2nd league to be in relegation spots again

  12. So, sorry to come back to this but I came across a similar situation in a different save (also an FM23 import if that matters) that I thought was worth noting.

I thought in the scenario described in the original post, I was just asking for optional fees higher than the AI would prefer.  AI should still prefer that over no option at all and not scuttle a deal over it, but ok, I get it.

But, in a different save, I got a loan offer and tried to add an option to buy.  But I made a typo and the option was for 0 euros, for a very good goal goalkeeper that had been starting in Liga Portugal and Champions League for several years, a guy with a modest salary and a transfer value over 10 million.  Adding that 0 euro optional fee and changing nothing else about the loan offer made the AI reject the loan deal they had just offered me.  AI was willing to pay me 100k+ per month in fees for this guy, but wasn't willing to even think about buying him for 0 euros at the end of it.  Madness!

  13. Yeah I just had a guy sign for a third division Spanish club for 150k, when he wanted 250k from my second division Spanish club. I think a lot of the complaints about "players ask for too much $" are often overblown and ignore other reasons, but this one just drove me crazy

I can't imagine any situation, except for a rare Lucas Perez type personal passion (favorite club, favorite coach.. none of which were in play here) where a guy would choose to play for a 3rd division club, even as a star, than be a impact sub in 2nd division one.  A guy might actually take less money to avoid the 3rd tier, which they don't even call "professional" football in Spain (even if it is in a literal sense)

  14. Ok, more madness, sorry.

Farense (fresh up from Liga 2) is projected to finish 2nd in the top league!  Benfica is also predicted to finish 2nd haha.  Porto 1, Sporting 3, Braga 4.  So perfectly realistic except for Farense.

Gil Vicente and Estrela Amadora (CDEA) are both predicted 11th.  Moreirense and Rio Ave both predicted 13th.  Like Farense, Estrela and Moreirense are the teams that moved up from Liga 2, so maybe something about that is causing weirdness?

And no one is projected to get relegated from the top league! Chaves is predicted 16th (relegation playoff) but no one is predicted to finish 17th and 18th.

I just took the Farense job to see what would happen.  While the board isn't expecting me to finish 2nd, it is expecting mid table this year, top half next year and Europa Conf League in my 3rd year.  Pretty ambitious for a just promoted team, but not impossible.

  15. Ok, I'm looking at it further and it seems funnier.  None of the teams in Liga 2 are "predicted" to finish first haha.  Both Marítimo and Beleneses are projected to finish 17th and Mafra and AVS are both projected to finish 5th, which I might thought maybe just meant a tie but there weren't other teams also projected for 6th and 7th.  But no one 1st!

Also, Pacos de Ferreira (just relegated from Liga 1) is projected to finish dead last in Liga 2 while Santa Clara, the other team coming down from Liga 1, is projected 12th.  Would be basically unheard of 2 of the 3 coming down from the top league to get relegated again with the other not even finishing top half of Liga 2
