Just about to finish second season. Robbo, Virgil and Salah all come to me saying they want to leave for a new challenge as they feel they have achieved all they can!!
Talk about decimating the backbone of the team!

Hes just so effective. Can play CD, RB, LB (inverted fullback). English, homegrown at club and atm seems happy to be a squad player.
yeah - I have regrets now. Salah got all upset after I sold him as he now feels there is not enough depth at right back. Promised him I would bring through some of the youth which I did and Ramsay and Bradley are going well. He was initially really happy, but now for some reason he is worried again and the whole bloody team agrees with him!!! I'm at a loss at what to do as I have 3 right backs, but its not enough aparrantly...

Hold out for more - I got 100m for Gomez from Arsenal again 2nd save over!!!. Jan transfer window. I played him a lot though. They came in with a bid for 65m initially and I got them up to 100m in the end (structured though). My early access save I got 97m out of them so defo seems to be consistent.
I also got 70m up front for tiago from saudi and Matip was 30m to PSG.
Have Scalvini in and managed to get Evan Ferguson in Jan as he requested a transfer because Brighton kept rejecting my silly bids for him. Still cost me 95m though so blew all the money I got for Gomez. I just hope he is worth it..............

Me too but I’m really enjoying this save! Doubt I could replicate my transfers again! Just signed Tammy Abraham for 9m as he was listed! Also been informed that my youth intake may be a golden generation which I have never had before. Unless there is a major update I think I will continue with this o e!

Since all of my LBs (Tsimi, Robbo, Barco) are offensive, towards the tail end of the season I tried TAA as an IFB(d) with 'take more risks', 'cross more often' and 'cross from deep' which actually seemed to be quite decent as well.
Not sure how I'm going to play them for next season though, so looking for suggestions. Mostly played a 4-2-3-1 with 2 dms, but also tried moving the holding midfielders up to cm and have a 4-3-3 as my third tactic. All of them is more or less the vertical tiki-taka tactics with minimal changes.
I’m just using him as WB (support) same with Robbo. Both getting heaps of assists and a few goals too!

Anyone managed to buy Evan Ferguson yet? I’m trying but they won’t budge from a 155m asking price! It may be because they don’t want to sell mid season so I’ll try again summer window.
ended up replacing Gomez with Ousmane diomande for 50m. It was a hard choice between him and Andre Silva but I think he just edges it! Only time will tell but he and scalvini look like they will be amazing for me in years to come!!

It was the jan transfer window first season. Tiago went for just under 70m for a wage of 650k a week.
honestly I’m more gobsmacked by arsenals 97m for joe Gomez!! I snapped their hands off! I have scalvini on board so far to replace matip and am working on the replacement for Gomez!

I’m finding this game it’s easier to sell players. So far (without being transfer listed) matip went to Saudi for 30m (after I rejected their VVD approach) then Tiago to Saudi as well for 70m. Then……joe Gomez to arsenal for…….97m!!!! They offered 50m and I countered a silly 100m and then settled at 97m!! Stupid money!

Yeah I was quite happy to let matip go! Have you looked at the Mexican CD who plays for Barca? Ronald araujo. He looks pretty good!

Yeah, no bids for salad yet but they also bid for Virgil on mine! I could only get them to 70m so I knocked it back! They then bought Matip for 30m!!
i’m now torn between Scalvini and Andre Silva. Both will cost me about 75m on my save. I’m leaning towards scalvini at present but still not 100% sure!!

End of season 1 on my new ssave, and he was my 2nd top scorer with 26 goals as backup.
He has 1 year on his contract and I can sell him for £70m, or offer a new contract as impact sub for 88k a week. He is a good backup, and i am selling minamino for £42m who also did a good job as backup. And bringing in Demir for 14m as backup for Salah.
Ha! I had exactly the same dilemma! I got mbappe on a free and needed to trim the squad. I was going to sell origi too. But then thought maybe firmino due to his wages.
lo and behold Bayern came in with a bid of 90m for origi (admittedly only 50m up front) but I just couldn’t refuse that kind of money! Ironically about 3 days later Madrid only went one better and bid 100m for firmino!! Needless to say I let them both go for that kind of money!!

Just finished first season. Virgil just informed me he wants to leave for a new challenge!!
I rejected his request and hope that he changes his mind. I really dont want to lose him as he was immense.
may sell firmino as he is 30 now and just doesn’t seem to perform!!

Thought Id share my tactic. 26 matches unbeaten from start of season. Ive found the key is the make sure your midfielders are set the stay wide. This allows them to support the inside forward and overlapping full back. I usually start with much higher tempo and then reduce tempo during the game, as it quickly wears out the players. Not made much by way of signings. Only Adeyemi who loaned back to club for the first half of the season.
Corner tactic has worked v well . Van D has scored 12 so far.
The tactic overall is very solid defensively, thanks to the half back. Fabinho and Henderson work incredibly well sat in front of the defence and allows the full backs to push on.
So far so good. Next season Ill be focusing on the midfield as all are on the older side. Need some youth. Milner already on way to PSG on a free. I am avoiding Mbappe and Haaland for this save.
How does your striker do for goals? I tried a similar formation but was really struggling to get striker to score. I went for 2 up front in the end which helped a lot!!

Loving the transfers in fm22. The players values really drop if they are near end of contract and won’t Sign new deal! Got dybala for 40m (spread over 3 years) belotti for 2m!! (He is banging in the goals) and in second window have got mbappe on a free! (Had to move some players on to afford his wages though)

I love the fact this year players who have expiring contracts in a year that their transfer values really drop so clubs don’t lose them on a free.
on deadline day I managed to sign dybala for 40m and belotti for 2m (yes 2m) as they would not sign new deals at their clubs.
half a season later they are both banging in the goals and belotti is now worth 70m and dybala 100m.
may be worth trying to target players with expiring contracts if you find any.

It is a shame that all the ex-players who went into coaching had such awful coaching stats I could not bring them back.
omg, Haalands goal return...........that is simply outstanding!! Mbappe is pretty good too.
I spent ages trying to get my striker scoring but finally managed to get Haaland and Harry Kane (bought him for 80m as he requested a transfer at spurs) scoring regulary. Anyone had any issues with Fabinho? Madrid made a low bid and unsettled him and he put in a request to leave. I was not worried at first, but try as I might I could not resolve this and after 2 years of trying I eventually sold him, not to RM but to Chelsea of all clubs as they offered me 100m all up front so I took it. Shame as he was quite good for me.
However I smile every time I see the league table as Chelsea are currently languishing in 14th with 8 games left in the season with no chance of qualifying or winning a thing!!
Interestingly I am currently 71 (yes 71) games unbeaten in the league and counting. This is far and above the best I have ever done in this game......
Still not managed to win the Champions League yet though but I'm only about to finish my 3rd season. Athletico Madrid are my boegy team and have knocked me out every year so far.....

Ok so I couldn’t convince Virgil and salah to stay after season 2. Robbo I managed to convince to stay.
stupid money for salah and good money for Virgil. Also Jota went to Madrid for 90m.
i only went and signed Bellingham for 275m!! Blew all my budget and wages on him so here is hoping he is worth it!!
i think I have also been really lucky with my youngsters too as the likes of Elliott, Gordon, Carvalho, Doak etc are all looking like they will be good players!
