Thanks for the reply mate, yeah he’s tried uninstalling but no success unfortunately. He gave the hosting a go but I couldn’t join his either! So definitely looks like the problem is his end.

Hi all, very new to this forum so apologies if this is in the wrong place but me and a friend are attempting to do a network game, we have done several over the years on multiple different football manager games but we’ve hit our first brick wall. When he attempts to join my server it gives him the message ‘Joining online game’ but nothing appears to happen and he finds himself back on the server page, he has tried some open servers to see if it’s a connection issue with myself but he still gets the same problem. Has anyone else come across this and found a fix? He’s tried uninstalling football manager and restarting his desktop, updated his steam and restarted that too, checked all the preferences but none appear to work. Any ideas? Thanks
