  1. I like the idea of the BBM alot, not in the slightest because I have a potential cash cow for that position, but also because I have a pref for the role. I will change it if my defensive numbers go down though, I don't have the pacey defenders yet. SS is still an experiment, the two matches wasn't really to my liking, so I'm going to try AP (S) for a couple of matches now. About my DLP, i'm not sure, but I think he currently acts more like a link in the midfield opting to play in the BBM RCWB or AP, which is also fine for now. But i wanted a Frenkie de jong kinda guy kek.
  2. About the defenders, I was writing it and looking at my tactic and I figured ''well, they'll probably opt for the wingbacks, so ill change it to 1 centre BPD'' just like you noticed. Ill change the DLP to support, see how that works out, hopefully that won't open the midfield up to much. BTW, how can I quickly see if he is making such progressive passes, without watching an entire match? I sometimes find it hard to filter all the data from statistics. Quick look at my DLP's stats says he has a completion rate of 90% out of 620 passes, but zero key passes
  3. So I have alot of hours in FM but I still have very much to learn. In my current save I wish some feedback on what to do better, and some player traits that are complementary (this is an area I find myself questioning and doubting alot) to the roles I have. Louis van Gaal current setup at the national squad of Holland serves as my inspiration. I want to press the Attack by playing a passing game, but when the opportunity arrives to have a creative guy unlock the field with a long pass. In a previous save I dominated the keuken kampioen divisie (KKD) with the same tactic, having lost no matches in the KKD and only drawing 4 times. Now, im already over those numbers. Two things were different. Instead of 2 BPD (D) and 1 mid CD (C) I had two CD (D) and one BPD (S) with the one being in the centre. Also, my ten wasn't an SS (A) but an AP(A). I only started using my SS for about 2 matches now, it was an AM (A) before that, but I read somewhere that an AM on attack and a DLF on support would use the same space, so I changed that. The idea is that my DLP serves as a creative guy instigating attacks from the middle. Should I change my central defender roles for that? Also, how is my attack? A DLF and a Poacher, or a DLF and a TF? I feel like certain role combinations aren't doing what I have in my mind.
  4. Made promises to a player about him being played as an AMR IW, which I did. Broke the promise first, didn't know what had happened, so I promised that i'd really do it again. Played him about 10-11 out of 15 matches in his pref role (which btw i have done so for his entire tenure at my club, which is five seasons). Still broke the promise, so I told him to suck it up and stop being a **** about it. He said fine. Month later, he is still moaning about being played in a weak role, and is very unhappy about my treatment of him. 1. Promises got fulfilled, but not completed 2. He gets more and more unhappy 3. even though I got a positive reaction out of the last converstation (the one he wanted to leave, after I ''broke'' two promise) he still gets worse. It's about the player called Barrios Also, on an unrelated note. Why does it take about 15 minutes per savefile to upload? Last time I posted an issue it was almost instant.
  5. When in the tab ''scout priorities'' under ''assignments'' in the menu ''scouting'', you have the option to prioritise an assignment. You can only prioritise one by one, and i'd like to see that I can use that option for multiple players. I often find my self having a list of over a hundred individuals who I want a weekly report from, and if I need to quickly gain info multiple targets for a position I scout multiple players, who I have to prioritise individually. Just a quality of life improvement (:
  6. So I've been reading up on youth intake and the role the Head of Youth dev. has in that process. In an unrelated thread someone posted that the highlighted attributes aren't the most important. So, I got interested, and did some research, and checked on my own again. You can view for yourself. Something that immediately caught my eye -something I didn't bother with when I hired this guy- is his abysmall statt in Motivating. Across the board, i'm quite happy with him, but this got me a bit nervous since i've overlooked the fact that he's also a coach. Will this have a major impact, and should I look for someone better because of this? Furthermore, I learned that playing-/tactical style and preferred formation influences the intake of your youths. I was wondering what his standard playing style will actually influence on any given player. With my main squad I play 4-2-3-1 higher tempo/shorter passing counter, but I don't mind him bringing in some more defensive minded midfielders (I use a BBM and a BWM, and I like both to have a defensive edge) so I think this is fine. However, I can't help but wonder if this is the right call. The game is flooded with insane Hoyd regens, although this one has a fantastic personality. Lastly, how would I know when checking for a new HoYd what kind of players he'll bring in based on his preferences and style? Is it an educated guess or is there a list somehwere on the fora that could help out with this?
  7. I'm trying to sign a quality reserves manager. Between the 1493 unemployed HoYd, you'd figure you can find someone. I did, twice actually, after about an half an hour of getting rejected. They immediately agreed to my -quite generous- contract offer. Two days later, they call me. ''Sorry mate, i'd rather sit my fat unemployed ass on my couch eating churros instead of making a name for myself in the champions cup'' What is this?
  8. Alright, thanks! This is one of these cases I should revisit my ''throw a 5 year contract at anyone's face'' policy
  9. I've been playing in de Eredivisie for some time now, gaining european football nearly every season. Something that is a bit frustrating is the fact that I play a match on Sunday, to have a (very important) champions league game on a Tuesday. I don't know about other leagues in real life, but since a couple of years to the KNVB favours teams who also play in Europe with scheduling. They do this -obviously- to give them more rest with the hopes of gaining more points (which in the end will be beneficial for the entire league, which Ajax has shown us the last couple of years under ten Hag, basically skyrocketing us towards an extra CL spot. While conference league last year also has been a gift from the gods for dutch football and coëfficiënt points ). My suggestion therefore is this; Implement a (perhaps shallow/small/simple) system that allows a new party i.e. a governing body like the KNVB, or the FA or whatnot. Have it work the same way as making a board request. Extra features besides beneficial scheduling could be Rule changes. In Real life, the Dutch and Belgian league had been discussing a merger, which is (thank god) of the tables. More importanly, all professional clubs get a vote, as they do with more things that I can't recall as of writing this. An older manager game I used to play had something similar, which was Motorsport management. Ofcourse, we don't want to see leagues change their rules every other season, so that should be contained in some way.
  10. I hired an DoF after not having one for a couple of seasons, mainly for attracting young players for my u18 team. Scouting 15-17 years old cost me a lot of time real life. It's one of my favourite things of the game, but it has its limits for me. On the other hand, my u18 team has more fillers then i'd like it to have so i decided in favour of a DoF. I set responsibilities of making initial transfers for potentials to him only, as I still want to keep a tight ship and don't want the AI to splash cash on useless deals. Problem is, is he has done nothing in a season's time. Not even looked somehwere, so it's basically half a players worth of salary down the drain. What am I missing here. Should I change some responsibilities or is there another option i need to check. He has judg. player A/P both 17 and a negotiating stat of 18, with also having excellent mental stats.
  11. I bought a young Argentinian player. The club asked me to loan him back, but I couldn't change the details. I would have let him go back, but they only offerend to play him as a fringe player. I'd like t to see that you could negotiate this immediately. I'd also think it be a good addition if we could have more options for a future fee when loaning a player out, instead of just naming a flat price.
  12. When you want to learn a trait, you can choose from any of your coaches. They'll have a specialisation between brackets like (mental) or (attacking). Can't find that statistic in their own profile though, or via scouting. I need more attacking coaches.
  13. Ayee well F*** me then. I'd better put him on some shooting training then if the last time won't work.
  14. Over two seasons, ive tried removing traits from 2-3 players, to no avail. Every single time it fails, and i'm at a loss how or what is happening as the game doesn't tell you anything about it. Perhaps i'm missing something, but i've tried different trainers, yet I do play the players in question. Example, I have a very good AM-AP-SU who has the trait shoots from distance. Normally i couldn't care less, but his stats aren't really fabulous (fin8/lon9) so I want it gone. Now I do play him occasionally in his role. Could that be why he still hasn't unlearned his trait? Is it critical I use a trainer (attacking) or could i also use a (general) trainer?
  15. Does it work? Most guides say ''list them to check if it garnered some interest'' but like I said in the original post, all it seems to do is invite really ****** non-negiotable bids. That's why i'm starting to think it has something to do with reputation or something i'm just missing.
  16. I get that, 100%. Im not expecting more then 1.2-1.5 for a guy thats worth 2.5 but bidding around 10% for a young guy with potential seems like you're getting the other -shittier- end of the stick doesn't it? In three seasons I've had AI making the first move maybe once a season, I think it even happened only twice so there's that. I must make some money from somewhere and that's where my frustration comes in. If no one makes the first move, and all i get is lousy offers, then how do i grow my club? I can't go around and keep on selling youth players for 150k max right?
  17. Since almost all information I read on the matter is contradictory to each other or my own expierence, I might as well ask. Im managing a dutch team 3.5 national rated repution. Just finished my third season having finished 5th, 4th and now 3rd. Offloading players is. a. pain. Guides keep telling me to put them on the transfer list, to get some bids going and start negotiating. Even if I get some bids (question 1, how to garner more interest in your players besides letting them play a gazzilion matches) they are 90% non negiotable, and at best 20% of the transfer value. I have a 20 year old 2.0 ability/4.5 potential DC valued 2.8 million. I put him on for 2.1m. Bid comes in, offering 375k including bonuses. Which leads me to question two; does it get better as once you win some cups or perform really well in Europe? Finally, I keep reading that some people manage to get up t0 200% using installments. Now, I realise that these are outliers. However, when i'm negotiating the AI seems dead set on a figure which has always been, max 50% of the value. Again, does this have to do with reputation, am i doing something wrong or overseeing something? Help me understand this, and please tell me this gets better as you start performing better in europe, because it's really frustrating to deal with this as it is impossible to reverso uno this on AI.
  18. Google keeps redirecting me to the same 'guides' and answers, so instead ill ask it here. When you're searching for players, attributes are color coded to indicate quality. I use the standard ranges (1-5/6-11/12-15/16-20). I think i've read somewhere that when you havn't fully scouted a player yet, an attribute overlapping two quality brackets and it's one of either colour, you know for sure that it will in that range. Example : 11-15 is indicated with yellow and 16-20 is indicated with green. My scout gives a rough estimate of an attribute being between 12-18, but the colour is yellow, will i therefore know for sure it won't exceed 15 quality or can this still change due to other circumstances when the player has been fully scouted?
  19. Hi, thanks alot so far! I chose for into the box as most of my forward minded players don't have good long range stats and a lot of data feed back is get is that i never score outside the box. The focus on the middle was A match specific, so my bad for that one, usually I play out of defence. I've been trying with low and whipped crosses as none of my forwards are really strong headers and lack height, so it made sense to me to try and play around with other crosses. Ill start implementing your tips, hopefully ill get some results
  20. I've tried multiple things, multiple strikers, i've used rate my tactics app and spent hours reading guides making a tactic that works with what i have. I loaned a striker that is supposed to be good in the box, according to guides + his attributes, but scoring just mainly comes from my left inside forward and my Advanced playmaker, but thats mainly penalties. I really hope someone can help me out here, because after days of trying i'm at a loss what im doing wrong (if anything). I barely score, barely win games with more then two goals (i've had one match where i won 5-1, and two/three where i won 3-0/3-1, friendlies not included) I'm not losing, I'm having a great season actually, but every game is more luck then skill, and i'd be a lot more comfortable knowing my players can score, instead of relying on penalties and 1-0 victories. Having to do so really messes up late season as well, because I have to demand more from my players if it's still 0-0 60 minutes in, as where i'd like to take a step back more often than i'm able to do know. I've tried different players on different roles in my striker, but i'm starting to think that i should play a two man partnership or maybe a SS behind him although im really fond of the three central defenders and two backs.
  21. I already made a thread about this but someone advised to put it down here. Issue is as follows. As you can see behind the personal pop up, He has equal interest in being a physio and a sports scientist (ss). However, his stats in ss are abysmal, yet he insists on being one from the get go. Changing it to Physio will result in him demanding to being an ss and locking it out. This hasn't been the only one doing so Link to previous thread.
  22. To clarify, both screenshots were taken when negotiations went bust, and what usually happens is : I open negotiations, see that they want to be a sportsscientist, I change that to Physio and suggest it, and then they lock out on sportsscientist. Besides, they have just as much interest ( if the green bubbles are indiciations of interest) in being a sports scientist as seen behind the pop up, but it is a bad screen shot on my part.
