  1. Only negatives I've noticed along the way is again squad development with the Old Firm, end up with players on mental wages and very average quality which has saw them sucked into everyone else clutches. Won my last title by 23 points over Kille and 30 over Rangers and Celtic. I had 92 points so still 9 games where I slipped up. So domestically I'm breezing and really playing for free titles and to hopefully see the old firm's demise financially.

My other frustration has been AI's handling of tycoon takeovers. In any tier in Scotland this would benefit the club and there's been a few, which to be fair is realistic as it's happening more and more in world football.

St Johnstone got one and got nearly relegated, Dundee with theirs got relegated and now have players on 22k in the Scottish Championship. Ayr United got one after 1 relegation back to the championship and have pretty much yo-yo'd since.

Alloa got one in the championship, but now find themselves in a position where they got a few relegations and ended up in League two and the chairman has withdrew funding.

Raith Rovers have just gotten one as they've been relegated to League one, so will be interesting how they go with this new influx of money.

I must admit it's my beta save that's carried on and a lot of sides that drop down end up going Semi-Pro, but I've noticed in other saves post patch this still continued, so I don't think it's an issues as not all end up semi pro. As in someone like Ross County did but Falkirk did not.

  2. Opted to do my annual Motherwell save in anticipation for it go terribly and frustrate me for ages.

Weirdly turned into my 2nd most successful Motherwell save ever and 12 seasons down already which is scary, although it was started in the beta. 4 league titles, 7 Viaplays and 2 Scottish Cups with Knockout stage football at least in every season since 25/26 whether it being the UCL, Europa or the Conference. One stint in the conference got to the semi's where we lost to Spurs, which weirdly got us qualification for the Club World Championship.

I had a great start like real life and unlike real life where we've struggled from the striker crisis with the extra body in Lee Erwin I kicked on after the Old Firm double header. Ended up easy top 6, with a late downfall taking us to 5th. Unable to get Mika firing was frustrated but Shaw and Bair were surprisingly very good. Mugabi was a cheat code for corners.

After season one I was continually 3rd, then 2nd in 28/29 before winning the title then bottling the next 2. Season 31/32 saw a horror show and us finish 4th, but won every title since.

Building up was easy after the 1st season, good wheeling and dealing and loans. I always played a variation of the 3-5-2 we do in real life, so getting quality there was key, Montgomery from Celtic was fantastic so much I got a big sale out him after a few seasons, 68k for Liam Scales was great and going back to old FM hero Dale Taylor got me kicking on.

John Fleck on a free was quality in the middle of the mid 3 and Sam Curtis as RWB was amazing after signing from St Pats.

2025/26 saw me get Van Persie in on loan, incredible business' and so good we never saw him again. Tom Bayliss and Sonny Perkins did a great job aswell continued to kick on.

I then managed to £9m for Clinton Mola, Blair Spittal, Bevis Mugabi and Sam Curtis and that's when the newgens came, plus the free transfer of Thiago Helguera from Nacional.

Recruitment from here was just as many youngsters as you can, improve them, punt them on and next.

I now sit in 2035 with all those above accolades, the John Hunter Park as our home ground which will expand to 38k so we have to play at Hampden this year. Full maxed out recruitment, nearly 5 star facilities and £234m in the bank with £153m to spend. The wage budget is £1.6m which of course is unsuistanable and I spent just £763k of it.

Many signings i make are which release clauses and usually aim to try get 20-40million pending on what can be agreed with the player then source the next talent.

Scouting wise I actually don't do much, it's either shortlist from NXTgen list if at a smaller club, or a decent u23 player from an agent on deadline day where the player has at least B+ recommendation.

That and of course I've had some fantastic talents come through intakes to the stage I regularly start to 17 year olds in 2035. The best intakes I've had in all my Motherwell careers I've ever had on FM.

Any other info people want to know just ask and I'll try source it from my game or my twitter thread on it.

  3. I think I'd say FM13ish. The big breakthrough was Ascoli in Italy, they had a tycoon and they used to win title after title and frequent last 4 of the UCL.

It gets tougher now in England, only really clubs in L1,L2 drop all the way down. Premier League is practically just a yo-yo now, so even 20-30 years in it's practically close to the same 20 bar one or two.

  4. Few observations I've noticed so far.

A lot more injuries, also now if someone takes a knock their highly likely to get the injury and required to be subbed aswell.

Keeper errors I've noticed (I play in 2d so harder to judge) but seems keeper moving out the way of shots and misjudging crosses aswell.

I'm struggling to score despite having a lot of chances, but that could be a tactic thing since I have an incline to go 4-3-3 but different variations, so I'd like to work on that before more judgement, but Rashford was brutal.

  5. The only thing I can say about the discounted price is maybe the players have told the manager they are opting out of their contracts and the club feel they need to cash in on them?

I watch a fair bit of Flamengo and they are usually up there in the league terms, next week is their 3rd copa lib final in a row.

They do spend a little ie Everton, Pedro etc but of course they don't spend to the lengths you've shown.

Though previously they've made money from Vini jr Pacqueta to name two. Maybe some of the current crop coming through could make money.

Also remember they have a lot of big name players at the end of their careers who would have been on good money that will of course retired and gave that up quickly. Diego Alves, Felipe Luis, Vidal and David Luiz to name a few.

  6. So some small observations, somethings I believe are bugs, some maybe not, so will discuss before submitting.

    1) Match engine seems decent, although I do think so many goals are from turnovers and mistakes rather than outright cutting through teams

    2) Now I do my own set piece routines, but noticed my top scorer was my CB scoring back post headers. Whether this is OP, or my tactic was just good. His heading isn't amazing but he does have 17 Jumping reach.

    3) Board want to sack you instantly if you don't fulfil cup ambitions, however like previous years It doesn't take into account losing to bigger clubs. Board pre-match expect losses to Rangers and Celtic yet post match want to sack for not making it far enough.

    4) Keeping a hold of players as a lower club is much harder with a lot more opting out of contracts way earlier, tbf I like this, much more realistic as smaller clubs have much more of a turnover and key players last 2-3 seasons most.

Cheers, would this be overdoing it or do you feel it could fit my urge for say a far more graphically superior game to play down the line - https://www.scan.co.uk/products/scan-performance-rtx-intel-core-i7-12700f-16gb-ddr4-12gb-evga-rtx-3060-1tb-m2-ssd-win-11-see-info

  8. Budget - Around £1300 Max ideally.

Desktop highly preferably no need for monitor.

Looking to run Large db with all major South American players loaded would like to go as high as 12 countries with top 2-3 divisions in each but all of SCO, ENG. Something that could handle extreme long term play in a save.

    Currently PC Specs -

    Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz   3.40 GHz

    RAM - 16GB

Graphic card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

So overall - the Graphics would need an upgrade but with the PC itself nearly 10 years old i feel its best for a new system so any advice is appreciated.

More so with FM22, the computer would tend to freeze during processing, so if I had music on etc it would just run silent during these spikes as would say OBS if i was streaming FM.

Other interests - I mostly play simulation games, so processing power would be preference however I feel if I am going for a big upgrade in system then a fairly decentish graphics card would be preferable. Something that would perform well for a while.

    Cheers!

  9. Momentum was on our side, we had a chance to become heroes and make history for Queen’s Park. How would we get on?

    image-1.png?w=841

Our recruitment was very precise in the January market, a deal was tied up for us to break our transfer record with the £775,000 deal for Paulo Salgado from Vizela, Paulo is a true number 10 stacked with potential.

Alan Combe arrives on loan from Chelsea and brings us a fantastic cover option at right back, defensive midfield and in the number 8 role.

    image-2.png?w=815

Josh Pask was our only departure, the long standing servant joins Charlton on loan till the end of the season.

    image-3.png?w=1024

We had a taster for Europe with our training camp friendly away to SC Cambuur where we won 2-1, this prepared us for our tie against Cluj in the Euro Conference and a Jonathan Afolabi hat-trick steered us to a 5-1 win over the Romanian outfit, with a 1-0 win over there thanks to Stuart McKinstry giving us a 6-1 agg win.

Unfortunately, the next round was a step too far after a 3-2 home defeat to FC Basel was followed up by a stalemate over in Switzerland allowing the Swiss side to progress to the Quarter Finals.

    image-4.png?w=1024

We came back from the shut down and played Hearts 3 times, in a week, but more on those other two matches later, we won this one before avoiding defeat at Parkhead again in a 3-3 draw to maintain our gap.

Wins followed over Hamilton, Hibs, Dundee aand St Mirren before a small blimp against Dundee United where we lost 2-1. Would we recover?

Damn right we did, a trip to Falkirk 5-3 win, a trip to Aberdeen 2-0 win before a 3-1 at home to Hearts. It was looking all great before a defeat to Livingston.

A trip to Ibrox saw us avoid defeat there and really give us confidence that the gap wasn’t coming down, we saw victories over Aberdeen and Hibs, before we ended the season to limp over the line as CHAMPIONS with draws at Dundee, at home to both Rangers and Celtic, before one at old rivals Falkirk.

    image-6.png?w=1024

The dream had came true, great consistency, and going to places like Ibrox and Parkhead and avoiding defeat we’re 2 of the things helping us become Scottish Premiership Championship.

We ended up winning the double, with a Scottish Cup win, we drew with Hearts before 10 days later an early onslaught had us 2-0 up at Tynecastle before a late Afolabi goal made it 3-1.

Forfar were put to the sword by 5-0 before a really late show v Ayr turned a 0-1 scoreline into 3-1 thanks to Afolabi, Appleyard and Kargbo.

No late drama this time as we defeated Falkirk 2-0 in the Semi’s thanks to two Afolabi goals.

We saved that drama for the final where we defeat Celtic by 1 goal to nil, in extra time thanks to Brian Lomas striking in the 112th minute.

    The following year

I did carry on a year to see what the new stadium would end up be getting called. That season didn’t go too well with early eliminations from both the League and Scottish Cup’s.

The Champions League saw us finish 4th in a tough group with Real Madrid, Inter and Young Boys, however looking at it. Real Madrid vs Queen’s Park is pretty mental.

Our defence of the league wasn’t great either, we were inconsistent and it resulted in a third place finish behind Rangers and Celtic.

We didn’t achieve our goal of 2 youth prospects into the Scotland squad, but instead we managed to get Scott Banks and Alex Ballantyne.

Our stadium will be coming but unfortunately that’s the end of the save here as the stadium name felt like an insult, it wasn’t named after me.
