2 "What we've got here is a failure to communicate"
  1. The history / career stats panel hasn't evolved much over time and it always feels like there's a lot of room to make it more useful. the development / tactics is a good way to know where the player actually delivers: in that case incidentally, virtual Armstrong Okoflex only scores upfront and not wide left.... but we only know that for the current season the report / stats gives useful position specific per90 info (in case one didn't create a custom view to get them in the squad section) But one of the things that would be valuable is to be able to see the evolution of some of the metrics from season to season. There's nice bits of info on all 3 mentioned pages but once the season is over, most of it is gone. Point would be to see how a young prospect in instance, goes from a promising player, to an established star: see shot volume, shot on target, accuracy, conversion improve over time for a striker. or when the player is on a downward slope and his metrics are declining, like barely plays 30' per game, more fouls, less duels won... I sure like an attacker who can defend, but I feel the TCKW/90 might not be more important than the volume of shots in instance here. In 2022, any casual fan can flick or scroll on fbref.com, sofascore, whoscored.com to get lots of basic info on most top flight and some second division players. In real life, there's services that offer that data from lower levels as well, for a subscription fee. It shouldn't be unrealistic to have some of them as well on FM scouting reports, like "Striker X's shot volume and efficiency has improved" or /!\ "this striker struggles more and more to hit a cow's arse with a banjo for a few years now" before deciding to sign a player. I think the rows on the career stats could be narrower, to feature some of these stats, only for games played in the league (just as it is now). I don't think anybody cares about how players can be statpadding underlying metrics in the Carabao Cup beyond goals/assists, so the bottom table is kind of fine (not ideal, but that's the only historical performance log anywhere) Maybe with buttons that automatically display 4 or 5 key metrics (instead of having 20-ish new columns that would overload the screen) The numbers dont make a lot of actual sense here, but to give a picture of how some of the metrics would improve/decrease from season to season Some of the key metrics that could be interesting re: evolution over time
