  1. Hi all,

Apologies if there is a thread already like this elsewhere, but after what I think could be the biggest FM22 underdogs cup winners story. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any underdog Cup Stories?

Bit of background, I decided to manage Kelty Hearts, as there badge fascinates me and first ever season in Scottish League 2 and there top of league (think there already promoted in real life) Anyway back to FM, first season I won the league and got promoted to Scottish League 1.

So first cup Game was Third Round V Hamilton, team in mid table league above, won 2-1

Next came Stenhousemuir in the fourth round, league below, but fighting for promotion, comfortable 2-0 win

Fifth round was Raith, battling relegation in the championship, took advantage of that with a 5-1 win

Then came my first "shock result" V Livingston, in the quarter finals, they were top half of the Premiership and we surprisingly won 3-0, which meant little Kelty Hearts of League 1 was in the Semi Final and about to play at Hampton Park...

Now in the Semi Finals there was no Celtic or Rangers, so whatever happened an outsider was gonna win the cup, I got Dundee, who were second in the Scottish Championship. I just knocked out Livingston so had absolutely no fear against them and smashed them 6-1, while playing the final 20 mins with 10 men after my player was sent off, this was after I lost a game in my own league 7-1 (football is a funny game!)

So the final lined me up V St Mirren, a team who finished the season in 6th in the Scottish Premiership, luckily I also had 21 days of until the final, although couldn't do to much as we were part time, more luck hit as St Mirrens 2 best players were out injured for the final. So cup final day... I went 1-0 up in 12 minutes with Seedorfs son scoring for me, then 20 seconds into the 2nd half I made it 2-0, but then I made the biggest mistake of my managerial career and decided to park the bus... 75th and 83rd minute St Mirren scores, then the full time whistle blows, back to square one and another 30 mins for the part timers, 1 minute into the first half of extra time, St Mirren Strike again 3-2 down, players are knackered I thought this is it bit 100th Minute, KELTY HEARTS PENALTY! Our top goalscorer Austin steps up and the keeper saves, but luckily Seedorf is there to knock in the rebound! And then came penalties.

First 3 penalties for each team was scored, then Carl Jenkinson smashes the post and then it came down to there 5th penalty, if they score they win... But BLASTED WIDE, 6th penalty we score there 6th penalty, OUR KEEPER SAVES AND LEAGUE 1 KELTY HEARTS HAS WON THE SCOTTISH CUP AS PART TIMERS AND ARE HEADING TO THE EUROPA LEAGUE!! NEVER HAVE I BEEN SO PROUD OF A ACCOMPLISHMENT IN ALL MY LIFE!!!

So there's my story, of what I think is the biggest underdog cup story I have ever seen in FM so my question to the community, can anyone top that??

Yeah like XaW said, if you have Steam Cloud on, it should be there. If not, you can always transfer it manually using a USB.

Or, you can always fire up the save on the existing laptop and change the save type from local to cloud.  Just make sure to allow Steam time to upload the save before you exit it!

Under properties I've already got the keep game saved in steam cloud for football manager 2021 enabled, i assume that's all good then

  3. Hi all,

I am upgrading my computer to a new laptop which is coming Thursday. I am currently really enjoying a save I have with Southend United and am in 2024.

I was just wondering once I get my new laptop and download steam and download Football Manager again, will that save still be on there or will my new laptop think this is my first time playing football manager and therefore not have my save file still saved?

First one is ok - you'd need to break it out of Windows S mode - easy to do.

    Second one - not bad

Third one - it's a chromebook and wouldn't be able to play FM.

Check out below here - person with similar request.

Best I can find in your price range

Thanks for the advice, my computer knowledge is near enough non existent, I also found this at Currys and it looks fairly similar

    Buy ACER Aspire 5 A514-52 14" Laptop - Intel® Core™ i5, 256 GB SSD, Black | Free Delivery | Currys

Would this do as good as a job as the one you recommended me?

  5. Hello Everyone,

    This is a great thread,

I am looking for a laptop for preferably no more than £500 but willing to go up to £600 if coughing up the extra cash is worth it!

My computer is on its last legs and has been dying a slow death for the last 6 months, I got it for Christmas well back in 2016 in order to help me with my GCSES and schoolwork. Now with education finished I am working from home so need a good laptop for that as well as football manager 2021 which I usually rack up a few thousand hours a year. But that is the only PC Game I play.

I went on UserBenchmark to see my current PC's spec, and I was in for a real shock, gaming was 1%, desktop was 29% and workstation was 0%! So anything is probably an upgrade!

I would prefer a laptop from Curry's or Argos as they are both local to me, and can hopefully order to pick up next day!

    Thanks
