  1. I'm that low I could walk under a snakes belly with a top hat on lol
  2. "You have taken the Sampdoria job without being able to speak Italian. Surely this will have a negative effect whilst you get to grips with the language"? I know it's nothing major, but I would really like the option of choosing which languages I speak, rather than having this dictated by which nationality I choose. For the record, I don't speak Italian in real life, neither do I speak Spanish, French, Japanese or anything else besides English. However, I am also not a football manager, and my previous experience is not international footballer. I like to play the game 'my way', and having the option to say that I speak different languages would be nice. Furthermore, I often wonder about those FM-ers out there who do speak multiple languages in real life and find that they cannot reflect this in their manager profile. Does it bug you guys or am I alone on this? I'm sure it's just cosmetic, however the wording of the press conference question quoted above makes me wonder if speaking the language of the nation you are in does have an impact on things? Thoughts?
  3. Due to other life commitments, and the amount of hours FM seems to require these days I actually stopped playing FM several months ago. I have not pre-ordered FM10, nor do I plan to buy it in the shops in the near future, and as such I feel I offer a rather impartial viewpoint on one of the matters being discussed, i.e. that some members have their game, whilst other's who ordered through Steam will not be able to get it early. I do however enjoy the buzz that occurs on the forums around release date, hence why I am back and making a post. Now Matt, based on what you have said you acknowledge that some people have the game early, but are making no plans to push the official release date forward, which is fair enough based on what you have said. However, I understand that the idea of using steam (and other digital download) was because that is the way the gaming industry is going and in the future (maybe 10-20 years) you will no longer be able to buy games in stores. I also understand that this cuts certain production costs (such as making disks, transport and warehouse storage). Therfore for a companies such as SI and SEGA, profits will be greater if people use digital download. Correct me if I am worng, I do not claim to be an expert on this but I certainly feel as though the general push is towards using STEAM for downloading FM (and other games), and there must be benefits to the company in selling games this way. I am sure a lot of people who pre-ordered through STEAM are feeling pretty hacked off right now, I certainly would be and further more, I certainly wouldn't order from STEAM next year. You have said yourself in this thread that you wouldn't be suprised ifstores are selling the game tomorrow. Surely for any fan thinking of buying FM11, they are going to remember what happened this year and will not bother with STEAM? Although you have given good reasons for not bringing the release date forward, I do think that you should consider the long term implications of this. If you want people to download via STEAM, there has to be some incentive to do this. As far as I can tell, people who preordered with STEAM have to wait longer and in some cases pay more for the game. Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and I hope that I have expressed my thoughts clearly. It would be interesting to see if the number of people who preorder from STEAM next year is less than this year. For those of you still waiting to receive and play the game, as the new patch comes out in two days at least you will be fully up to date when starting a new game. It would be a bit annoying starting a game then having to start over in two days when the patch comes out! Best wishes to all.
  4. Hello to all Firstly, this is by no means supposed to be anything other than a thank you to everyone on the forums for their interesting and enlightening posts. A final farewell and a big thankyou! I feel as though my FM addiction has led me to hit rock bottom, and have reached a decision that I must give up FM. I have been playing since the good old days of CM00/01 and have been an avid fan ever since. But I am now a man, married and holding down a full time job. I feel that I should have closed this chapter of my life a long time ago, but have been unable to do so until now. I hit my lowest point on Saturday when I forced myself out of bed at 6am to play FM, and didn't stop for 18 hours. By the end of this I had managed to win the Spanish cup, First division and Champions league with Real Madrid, but when I started signing regens thinking; 'he'll be good in about 5 years' I realised that I may never stop playing. I am also ashamed to admit that in frustration, I went on holiday in the 60th minute of the spanish cup final after going 2-0 down. Thinking the game was lost, I then found that I had won on penalties. If my addiction has led me to these lowly depths of cheating, I no longer want to be a part of FM. I have therefore made a decision to no longer play or buy another edition of FM. I know people will think I'm crazy, but I have to let it go and move on. I have not yet been able to uninstall the game from my computer, but I will get there in time. I wish everyone the very best in the management careers, and hope that other's will still find hours of enjoyment for years to come with the franchise. I have been a long time reader but infrequent poster on the forums, and would like to thank you all for the interesting and sometimes comical posts/threads that I have had the pleasure of reading over the years. A special thanks to Neji, Nomis, Peter evo and of course...Captain Planet! I have always found your posts particularly interesting and pleasant. Best wishes for the future to all. I will always have fond memories of my FM days and of my time on the forums. Nojabold.
  5. No matther which club I am, I always seem to be restricted to only having two physios. Even at clubs which have 5 or 6 physios, if I sack the rubbish ones I still can't get in others because 'the board feel that the club should not have more than 2 physios'. Does this ever change? Will I ever be able to get more than 2 physios? I think that most of my sicknote teams need all the help they can get......
  6. First off, I can't sy I agree with you on the issue of the AI not signing replacements. I signed Sebastian frey from Fiorentina whilst they also sold Mutu to Arsenal, at a total of £60mil. Before the transfer window shut, Fiorentina spent £38mil on Robert Enke (A direct replacement for Frey), Sebastian squillaci, Jean II Makoun and Rodrigo palacio (Direct replacement for Mutu). So they didn't blow the whole £60mil but if you an sign two replacements plus a midfielder and defender and have money left over then i think thats just good business. Seems like the AI is pretty on the ball to me. Secondly, I can't understand the ignorance and stupidity of people like damo_boro. The OP opens with 'I am an FM cheat' yet damo_boro being the narrow mided fool that he is still feels the need to launch an attack that reads much like all the other stupid posts before him. 'I don't see the point in cheating.....it makes the game boring.....you're a c**p manager..' I don't cheat, but respect the fact that how you play the game is up to the individual, there are no rules. Wish people would stop being so obnoxious about it. One thing I would say about the AI that annoys me is how predictable it is. i.e. Mutu always moves to Arsenal, Van der Vaart always gets unhappy at the start of the game and leaves, Pandev always leaves Lazio, AC milan always sign modric etc, etc, etc.....
  7. Why is it that some scouts with 19/20 for Judging PA/CA provide reports that are meaningless whilst other scouts with less attributes come back with loads of info like how much the player will cost etc... Is it to do with how much knowledge they have? Their reputation? Whether you just get a scout report card or for 3 games etc? Or some other attribute like determination? There just doesn't sem to be any simple way of telling who is a good scout, as I've signed scouts with high attributes who can't do anything to save themselves!

  9. So I'm sure everyone has their favourite players who they always try to sign because they do a good job, but has anyone ever had one of their usual solid performers have an absolute stinker that has made you question whether their ability? I've just been thinking about it because Klaas Jan Huntelaar, usually a good goal scorers has had a shocker for me at Ajax, scoring 6 goals up until january, avereage rating 6.59 then promptly sold for a meagre £7mil.

  11. Klaas Jan Huntelaar!!!! In my Ajax game he decided scoring 6 goals in his first 5 games was more than enough and then stopped playing completely, blasting every shot into the corner flag and getting 5 and 6 ratings. On top of this inter came snifffing around in january, and then offerd £4.5mil for him which i rejected. Yeah he'd been crap but he must be worth more than that? Or so I thought... He got depressed and was unhappy at not being allowed to move clubs, continually missed training and then everyone else in the squad got upset, first when i replaced him as captain, and secondly when i finally got rid of the ******* for £7mil. Ended up finishing 4th in the league and got sacked. wish i could have instructed one of my players to break his legs or something
  12. Good idea! Ive thought this before but worry that it will be something that, if incorperated into the game will be done badly same as the confidence system. For example it would probably happen way to often, and would probably be the likes of '7th choice reserve team striker' or the 'goalkeeper who hasn't played a game in 3 years because he is backup' complaiing and throwing hissy fits rather than important worthy players, and would just end up getting on my nerves. At least that's what always seems to happen in my experience of players getting upset at being substituted. It's never ones you care about like Ronaldo or Rooney, it's always the donkeys who were lucky to start anyway like Saha and Fletcher
  13. maybe Barcelona did want to keep fabregas, the point I was making is that had he stayed there he probably wouldn't have reached his potential, and certainly not as quickly as he has at Arsenal. Fabregas himself said that he was unsure about moving to Arsenal so young, but he is glad he did now because so many of the players he played with are still struggling and he would probably only be with the third team by now, not playing champs league and international football.

Move them to your reserves, then go to the under 18 scren. In the filter tick reserve to include them on the screen (for the under 18s) then put them in your team. Same goes for the senior team, you can put reserve or youth players in your line up using the filter rather than moving them between squads
