  1. Go to the fm challenge thread. Dafuge has some cracking challenges which include long term saves.
  2. If I'm playing as a lower league team I tend to stay more loyal currently managing ebbsfleet in my second season. Turned down offers from a few league clubs. Building a little team up is the best way to play the game in my opionion.
  3. Everybody has that one team they just can't beat. Sheffield United Nottingham forest And Preston Wondering what everybody else's was?
  4. 23/10/2004 Morton 1-0 Arbroath The scoreline does not represent the way we played, we hit the bar 4 times throughout the game as we missed the chance to improve our goal difference. From the start it was obvious Arbroath were playing for a point as they adapted a defending formation. Weatherson hit the bar twice in the first ten minutes as we got a grip on the game. Abroath's keeper was having a blinder and kept us out for long periods of the games with a string of saves. We finally got the breakthrough with fifteen minutes remaining as Ian Diack headed home from a corner to keep our good ru
  5. 6/10/2004 Maisano, Smith and Walker all got selected for team of the week. --- 16/6/2004 Forfar 1-2 Morton We beat fellow promotion favourites Forfar in an entertaining game. Both teams got off to good starts and both keepers made magnificent saves to keep the scores level. It looked like both teams were going into half time on level terms. Paul Walker had other ideas and shot through a crowd of bodies which evaded the keeper. We started to grab control of the game and Peter Weatherson doubled our lead just before the hour mark after a great cross from Flynn fell nicely at his feet, he th
  6. 2/10/2004 Dumbarton 0-5 Morton We bounced back from our disappointing defeat with a cracking performance at Dumbarton. The midfield played brilliant today, a massive improvement from the previous game. Paul Walker put us one up when he intercepted a dodgy back pass and rounded the keeper to send our away fans into raptures. Grant Smith then doubled our tally with a cracking low shot from outside the box shortly after half time. Walker then grabbed his second less than ten minutes later with a powerful header from a Flynn cross. Maisano showed why he came third in player of the month as he gr
  7. 25/9/2004 Morton 0-2 Alloa We played a shocker today as we gifted Alloa their first three points of the season. Alloa found plenty of space in midfield which they used to their advantage. We conceded our first goal before half time when Crowell gave away possession cheaply just inside our half. The ball fell nicely for their midfielder to finish past Coyle. We just didn't get going in the second half and fell further behind justten minutes after the break with sloppy defending from a corner. Not a good day. --- 2/10/2004 I came runner up in Manager Of The Month, Maisano also got a third p
  8. 13/9/2004 Grant Smith and Paul Walker both made team of the week after our impressive win. --- 18/9/2004 Morton 2-0 Stranraer Peter Weatherson continued his great form as he grabbed a brace to earn us all three points in a close game. He grabbed his first goal just before half time with a curling shot which went in off the crossbar. Grant Smith worked tirelessly today, he was unlucky not to score when his free kick flashed wide of the post. Matt Crowell looks like he's settling in well, the fans will think more of him after a great through ball which lead to our second goal five minutes b
  9. 11/9/2004 Ayr 2-5 Morton We bounced back from our cup disappointment with a great win against Ayr. Midfielder Mike Flynn on his debut headed us in front after 4 minutes before Maisano doubled our lead seven minutes later. Ayr then pulled a goal back thanks to an own goal. Striker Paul Walker then looked to have restored our two goal advantage before half time but Ayr hit back to give us a slender lead going into the second half. Peter Weatherson restored our two goal advantage after a sweetly struck volley. Flynn was very energetic throughout the match and got his second goal with a first ti
  10. 7/9/2004 Clyde 1-0 Morton League Cup First Round We battered Clyde but somehow found ourselves on the losing side of this game as a cup run was put out of the question. So many shots so many saves, whatever we threw at the keeper today he matched it. Clydes only goal came from a rare attack just after half time as the striker found enough time and space to slot under Coyle. Clyde put bodies behind the ball as we tried in vein to grab the equaliser but it never came.
  11. 28/8/2004 Morton 1-1 Brechin We shared the points with Brechin after an entertaining game today. We took control of the game in the first half and Weatherson hit the post within the first 5 minutes. Smith continued his current vein of form by putting us in front just before half time with a first time shot which went under the keepers arms. The work was undone within 5 minutes of the restart as Brechin found space in the box and blasted past the unfortunate Coyle. We tested the keeper a few more times before Brechin also hit the post with 5 minutes to go. --- 31/8/2004 One addition to th
  12. 20/8/2004 We welcome James Morisson for the season as he joins us from Everton, he can play in the middle of the park. --- 21/8/2004 Berwick 0-4 Morton We spanked Berwick at their own ground as we tore them apart with a lethal first half. Maisano gave us the lead just before the half hour mark with a finish from outside the box. Weatherson kept up his form with a goal 4 minutes after as we built on our lead. Maisano then got his second just before half time with a sweetly struck free kick. Substitute Ian Diack scored our fourth with twenty minutes to go as we left Shielfield Park with al
  13. 16/8/2004 We add defender Alex Bruce to the squad as I look to add a few more depth players before the months end. --- 18/8/2004 Morton 2-0 Stirling We got our first win of the season after comfortably seeing off Stirling. We controlled the whole game and could've easily had 4 or 5 on a different day. Grant Smith scored his first goal for the club just after the interval. Stirlings keeper was having one of those days and kept his side in it for the majority of the game until Weatherson grabbed our second with 15 minutes to go as we saw out the last period with no lapses. Much better.
  14. Gav- cheers mate, nice to be back writing! Cheesey1975 I find FM2005 the most enjoyable without all the new added stuff (press conferences etc) makes the game go faster and it's just a personal preference! --- 2/8/2004 We have been made 6-4 to gain promotion this season, only Brechin are more fancied than us. --- 4/8/2004 I sign young midfielder Matt Crowell from Wrexham, fans seem uneasy at the deal but I think he will do just fine. --- 12/8/2004 I am pleased to announce the signing of Grant Smith from Swindon. Smith was a steal for the price I got him for and he should be comfortab
