    I wouldn't be just yet, that ME won't be the same ME we get in Beta & by the time the third update's out it'll be even more different, hopefully for the better

    Though saying that, I thought the preview ME last year looked decent then the beta ME was a complete mess. Full back to full back crosses & balls over the top creating ridiculous amounts of CCCs off the top of my head. I remember doing a season with Bayern & conceding 4 goals

    I don't think Tom & Dom helped either with their tactics

    You forgot how good the long shots were to in the beta. Oh good golly they were OP, worldies galore.

    Also I do find it funny with Tom and Dom sounds like a Saturday Morning Kid's show in the 90s.

    Is it me or does FM21 look like there is MUCH more clicking, and as a result, much less user friendly? Why make things more complicated?

    Not impressed with the animations and match engine either.

    Did look that way, same as with the whole take over the youth team's training to have them open the side panel up. Still surprises me that decision.

    It's not really irrelevant. People want highlights that show whether their tactic is working or not. I couldn't care less about set pieces myself, it's the first thing I disregard completely when it comes to analysis. Show me open play, show me fouls, show me action leading to set pieces, but don't start the highlights from them. That tells me absolutely nothing.

    THIS! Players getting into dangerous position than being tactically fouled is common place in the game. Show us more of it.

    I've avoided this thread to let it build and I've read a lot of comments.

    I hope SI take away from it the disappointment, no matter how unconstructive a lot of it was, but I hope they take away the points made by people who are not happy.

    I am one of them.. sorry to say, but if these are headline features... it's worrying.

    =================

    A little button to point finger, throw a bottle, .... give a player a hug.... open your arms.... really.

    I'm sure there's a roadmap for interactions - but this wasn't implemented well when it was first introduced (player interactions) and it's steadily got worse year-in year-out.

    Interactions are terribly integrated into the game, and the influence it can have on players who behave like babies at times makes it a 'feature' I don't even bother with.

    ==================

    Match Engine/Graphics side of it - looks good, year on year improvements as expected.

    THumbs up

    =================

    More graphs.........booooring - never be used and don't want to ploughing through graphs.

    Won't use them at all.

    It's a game, I don't want to see graphs - what's the point of that?

    My point is, it's boring, this is a football game!

    =============

    Scouts

    Fire them all - never use them.

    Takes too much time and interacting with scouts - meetings - sorry, but it's boring!

    Find players easily myself. It's easy. Scouting is boring.

    ==============

    End of season review

    I hope that this can be an option!

    The worst part of the game is End of Season already.

    All the contract renewals, and it takes sooooo long to get from end of season to start of new season.

    Again, it's boooring, takes me about an hour to get from May to August!

    ========================

    I don't know about other people but my typical style of play is to take over a team, I get rid of deadwood, and buy/loan players to fit my tactic (I've had the same tactic since FM 2010).

    I fire/hire coaches.

    Set my tactics (same as it's been for 10 years)

    It's then full on to get to matches, play matches and win titles.

    At no point do I stop to have quick chats, or to talk to a player, or do anything with the media - never do and never will.

    You might notice all the boring comments, yes it's boring part of the game. It's a game! It's a football management game. I'm sure there's a roadmap of enhancing features. I do think that this roadmap by SI needs to be severely looked at.  It's getting to the boring stage and has been for a few versions (to the point I've stopped buying the game since FM15!).

    And boring is not good.

    Please SI - and mods - don't take it the wrong way - hopefully my scathing review of the features is taken in the spirit of the forum, and as constructive.

    Stay safe.

    I echo this.

    At this stage I feel like this will be my manager:
    Mr Motivator, 66, is back to take on TV's reality stars and Instagram influencers to save Brits from obesity

    Honestly, I only care for the ME. New features at this point hold no meaning to me if the core of which the game operates isn't providing enjoyment.

    No signs on what's going on with the ME, but will wait and see. History deems that the ME might be more or less the same. Funny enough, I thoroughly enjoyed the ME during the beta of FM20. It had flaws, but was the most attractive. Then full release came and I have been drastically disappointed since.
    Probably, a waiting game is best.

    Feel like it's needed an overhaul for a little while and agree with the new features, since they don't often feel like that. I said in a previous comment I don't have much hope for FM21 thanks to covid also making it harder to work on the game, but I am hopeful for FM22.
    Issues in the ME persist almost every year, though as players we also tend to do our best to break them, take FM20:
    Beta - Long Shots were OP
    Live - Can win almost any game as an underdog utilising gegenpress (remember that youtube vid that went around with an average side in whacky formations winning thanks to the press?)
    Over the top passes were OP
    Crosses, then we had the penalty issues.
    Finally corners, throwins and debatable freekicks.

    Maybe pessimistic, but I guess it's what happens after years of FM churning out what appears to be the same ME. I would like to be proven wrong and if I am, I'll pick up FM21.

    Can you tell me any other time when FM was given away free, either for a prolonged period of time or permanently? Do you think this has anything to do with the record numbers? Covid may also have had quite a significant impact here too with most of us forced indoors for months on end. Numbers don't make a game or anything great.

    I am not saying FM isn't popular - of course it is, most of us love the series. This ME is terrible for me and other users. What you think is your own thoughts - what we think is up to us.

    Would like to think the ME is having a major overhaul in the background, but I doubt that's the case. They'll just bolt more things onto it, and thus it gets worse and worse.

  6. Is it just me that is finding it hard to get excited for FM21?

    • xG will be the new chances created
    • Body language will just either be skipped, broken or may not work
    • Media handling - skipped as always
    • Match day looks like a new skin like every new fm I guess

    I hope they actually do things that people want like having a decent new stable ME, something to use money on that you've earnt in game etc.

    I do also understand that with covid it even makes it harder again. Probably the first FM I will skip since even CM days
