  1. It's alright. I have already loaded one of the backup saves and just went on. I just wanted to report that these kind of corruptions do occur and that these might possibly be linked to interrupted steam connections.
  2. This happened to me twice now. After I launched the game, the "resume last game" button was inactive. So I clicked "load game" and after I selected my last save game I got the message "The save game could not be loaded". So I had to load an older backup version of the save game. I believe in at least one of these incidents (maybe even both) my computer has temporarly been disconnected from Steam. I don't know if there is any relation between this.
  3. This might be controversal but SI could get rid of the star system entriely, if you asked me. I am more on the realistic/simulation side of FM and in reality there is no star system. I like to rate players according to their attributes an their preferred moves. But the downside is, that this makes it harder to get a quick opinion on a player. The ability to calculate your own assesment-score (which could be plain average or maybe something more sophisticated) would help the manager to assess a player easily without relying on a too-simple and unrealistic star system.
  4. As a hint: you can do this by yourelf in Excel. It is a lot of work though. I have made myself a template for each position. For each position the attributes are weighted differnently...not just simple addition. For example the attribute marking apparently is less relevant for a striker than it is for a defender, but not completely irrelevant. But I agree...it would be nice if this could be done ingame without the help of external tools.
  5. It would be nice if the manager could choose to have different formations for attacking and defending. In reality is very common but FM is lacking this option. Currently in FM this can be emulated to some extend by choosing corresponding roles for the players but I think this doesn't go far enough. Implemeting separate attacking and defending formations would make the game more realistic and would open up a whole bunch of new tactical options
  6. I think one of biggest flaws in the match engine is, that playing styles of players aren't diverse or distinguishable enouth. Each player in FM has his own strengths and weaknesses but this barely results in different playing styles. This makes players a lot more exchangeable (players boil down to just the attributes more or less) and takes away a lot of the tactical aspect of squad building. For example in reality you have quick wingers who run back an forth at the sideline and like to cross the ball into the box. And there is this different type of winger that tries lots of 1 VS 1, does a ton of scissor moves and creates chances out of nowhere. These are two completely different kinds of players in reality, but in FM it is hard to notice any difference since they all play more or less the same way. In FM there are the traits/PPMs, which acually are the perfect way to portray this. But I think the Traits don't impact the match engine enough (by far!) and I believe the game would benefit if you would make the PPM influence the decision making of players a lot more.
  7. I think the way transfer negotiations currently are made, in many cases differs from the reality. In FM transfers are wrapped up within several days whilst in reality this can be a verly long proces of negotiation between clubs and between club and player. Sometimes a club comes to an informal agreement with a player first and then makes an offer to the selling club which adds a lot of pressure to the selling club I think it would be more realistic and way more fun, if the game would incorporate such processes. So instead of making several separate offers that can either be accepted, rejected or negotoated within seconds, it would be nice if it all would start with indicating interest, initial talks and then may develop into week- or even months long negotiations, which could either succeed, cool down or maby be postponed because the buying club needs so sell one (or more) of their own player first. This could perfectly go together with rumors in media, interviews, et cetera. Also it may be cool if the managers could agree on a specific date somewhere in the future to announce the transfer, in order to aviod negative impacts on the transfer market (like other clubs rising their asking price for players because they know the selling club is now desperate to sign a new player for that position).
