  1. I never understand when they said "it's easy 'cause you use Real/Man/Liv/etcc, try with *obscure team".

Managing top team should be the hardest level.

IRL they wouldn't pay coaches millions otherwise.

And it is sad that in a game called Football MANAGER, AI manager never count.

For sure winning Champions with Real is easier than winning with MTK.

For MTK winning CL IRL is impossible. In this football era, literally impossible.

FM is a game and so it is great you have the possibility to make great a very poor club.

And i know it will be hard to get a right balance in difficulty level, maybe there is no solution (if you make big team stronger then you will not win with a poor club).

The only solution it will be set at least 2 difficulty level.

    One like is it now.

    Ana a harder one where:

1)find great player throught scouting will be complex

    2) attributes like 'decision' and 'important matches' have a huge impact (like IRL)

    3) top AI manager can get the best from their players.

I have from all the big leagues all the youth players, except I'm missing the youth players from the Spanish clubs. Am I doing something wrong or can I load these without turning the Spanish leagues on playable?

It’s probabily cause youth in Spain are in b/c teams that play in lower league so they are out of your selected options.

so or you select everyone spanish custom db or selected Liga playable (and then use lower detail to use less cpu power)

another option: with editor you can switch young players from b team to senior Team

p.s. Weaker Foot is just another 1-20 attribute, exactly as Finishing is for example. Imagine a SC has 17 for Finishing, 10 for weaker foot, 13 for Tackling and 157CA. Another SC may have 157 CA, with 17 for Finishing, 16 for Weaker Foot and 1 for Tackling.

Well, tackling for a striker has a very low impact in CA, so that 6 point more in weaker foot meaning a lower attributes in one or more important attributes for the role (eg. The one with 10 could have a better pace).

    so depends.

    in brief:

we all have all it is needed.

starting CA + mental (professionalism, determination, pressure etc) + enviroment (structure, coach etcc) + matches played (experience)

where us as manager have a key role, cause we really develop a good player, but also failed and burn an hot prospect

I assume thats about Mbappe and Messi. They were always marked, mostly double marked. They're just that good.

For me to stay half mile distant it is not marking.

    look at the semi-final.

in every action, Messi is always free just walking on the grass.

even when he entered in area.

in the third gol action, nobody help the masked defender at the limit of area against the best player.

    Watch now the infamous Gentile-Maradona.

or Ronaldo in semifinal of WC98

I like L'Equipe's lower ratings. The Guardian have Dembele 4 yesterday, what do you have to do to get lower than that?

I don't love low rating without context.
Play in a final of WC don't have to be valutated like a Group stage against Arabia.

  7. 5/10

Some games are very emotional but all depends upon the very low level of defensive players.

A level where the best offensive player is always free without needed to run off the ball and that he hai never be fouled by opponent, is the lowest level in the history of this sport.

Or that or we have to think about something worst

  8. It was a funny match.
    Mental was the key.

I think at the same time that that WC put Messi in the throne of this era and make evident that it is impossible to do a comparison between different era.
If players like Maradona or R9 had the same treatment of Messi, they would score 5 goals per game.

He was always free withou needed to make any movemwnt off the ball.
and doyou remember any (real) foul suffered by Messi?

I must disagree with the remarks about the number of crosses or shots. The game should not be made to fit the stats. If they make like this we will see ME like the last season where the players in position to cross they make return passes all the time. I do think this years ME is huge improvement and with updates will become a very good one.

Then it is another sport. But not a football simulation.

It have to recall at real stats.

The point is not the " where the players in position to cross they make return passes all the time" but that header goals or goals from crosses are not so easy, so in real life game it has no sense make 40 crosses for game 'cause players know that crosses are not the best solution.

Take a look to Matt Ritchie

it has the most crosses made in this season:
    94.
    Cross accuracy % 29
    Assist: 2

    Only 2 with 94 crosses.

    T.A. Arnold
    86.
    Cross accuracy % 29
    Assist: 6

Only 6 with 86 crosses in one of the best team.

Take a look to CR7, one of the best header of this generation.

    https://www.statbunker.com/players/getPlayerStats?player_id=17983
    Total goals: 740 - header 119
    goals on cross: 120.
(i think stats are not update, but it gives us an indicaton)

    the 16% of the goals.

It is a % that we can find in the game?

these are variations, so you should have terms like "centravanti di classe mondiale", "punta top class", "punta eccezionale" et cetera which refer to very good strikers

Ok. But (that isn't relate to Translation) the game should have a more variety in media description (or a different way to handle it) 'cause in no way players like Immobile, (current) Higuain, Szczęsny etc.. should be seen like world class. A world class or élite player should be a player that is very decisive at high Level.

I think this is quite a good discussion which has undoubtedly come up quite a few times on here. In the ME, there is no way to differentiate between an Okocha or Ronaldinho-type player to a Messi-esque player. Both types do what we normally term "dribble", but one does it with speed and incredible close control (like George Best too) while the other type does mostly flicks and flair skills to bamboozle the defender (like C. Ronaldo used to do in his early years).

I don't know how this difference can be made more pronounced in the ME. I don't know if it's a matter of improving the graphics, or improving the body movement, or how it uses the attributes, or something else. And even more challenging will be how to depict this in 2D.

The day that difference is noticeable and significant, then that will be a GREAT day in SI heaven.

He seems to me the now the ME use only speed attribrutes to generate dribbling. So dribbling are quite all in the wide half of the pitch (as you can see in the Images posted before) in quite 'not dangerous zone so they're pretty useless and not seen in highL.
Of course also in real Life that zone of the pitch are the most easy to attemp a dribbling, but, that is the point, what make the difference between a good fast wing back and Maradona it is not the dribbling in the wide half-way line, but the dribbling in the dangerous zones: so no the start dribbling of the epic Maradona's run against England, but last ones.

'Cause what will be the point to have a Messi or R9 type players if they could dribble only in the wide half line?

  12. (i'm using the DEMO)

This it was also in the previous edition:

Both media description 'elite' and 'world-class' are transiate with the same 'di fama mondiale' (and only for GK  'di classe mondiale').

I don't know what is the real difference between elite and world-class for the game (e.g. Mbappé and Van Dijk are elite, Brozovic and Kroos are world-class).

In the past editions seems to have more variety, while now seems that all great central midf (Kante, Modric, Savic, Koke, Barella (!), Pjanic (!) etc..) and gk (Szczęsny (!), Courtoius etc..) are world-class while the other position are 'elite' (Mbappé, Hazard, Higuain (!) , Kane, Immobile)

Totally agree, the dribbling has gone backwards from fm21in my opinion but it's too early too judge. Hopefully final release they've noticed the lack of dribbling and we see players dribbling past players through centre midfield. It doesn't have to be fifa level graphics just have players with special traits and high dribbling attributes be more inclined to dribble past players more.

of course, i don't care about good looking graphics.
But tendency to dribbling (and more animations in the future editions)

And more creativity in players' actions/decisions

Pratically all goals by Ronaldo at Barca (1996-97) are goals that FM cannot replicate.

  14. I wait for the demo.

But what leaves a bad taste in my mouth is that despite all the good words about dribblings/animations i don't see a single dribbling in the YouTube videos.
    Again.
I don't remember what is the last version of FM where players can make solo goals like Messi but i think was 10 or plus years ago, maybe FM07.

FM's goals are a mess more boring than real goals

On an dribbling animations Point of View even 1998 (23 years ago) games have more creativity and quality.
The goal of Larson in FIfa2001 is very natural and easthetical amazing compared to the boring goals we have in FM now.

In FM, unfortunately, players like R9, Ronaldinho, Okocha etc.. play at the same way than Gattuso, Kante, Keane

Ah, shoot. So how does this work for future updates? If I start a save now but by late december it becomes official and SI releases an update with it, will my save have it integrated some way (even if I am let's say in 2030 by then), or will I have to start a new career in order to have the new CL format in the future?

if SI will change the rules with an update, you have to start a new game. (like in every case that an update change rules or database data).

But I think that there won't be a such important change in a update and we will see it in the next version

Not necessarily. The two are correlated, in the sense that they both tend to presuppose good technical ability, but that correlation is far from perfect.

I wouldn't want Pippo Inzaghi taking any free kicks for my team, for example.

Serie A (and football in general) 90's-00's was so hard that it make us think that some players were technically poor.
