Update: Yep, that seemed to have been the problem. System is hidden and hardly explained but at least it's not a bug. -
Possibly found the reason: apparently between-season financial shenanigans is making me fail FFP. Would appreciate it if this was more clear in the future. I'll tinker with it on a separate save and report back.

Playing as Crewe in the English League 2, I got promoted to League 1. Even though my wage budget almost doubled and I only was in the red for a few weeks, I now can only offer contracts worth € 75k per annum instead of the € 100k I had in the division below. I added a screenshot with the wage limit and wage budget visible. Notice that I'm not even using half the budget. I uploaded my save, called "Wuub Wuubsson - Crewe.fm"

Goalkeeper AI error
ThatUglyGuy posted an issue in Match Engine - AI and Tactics (Closed For New Issues)
Near the end of this game there were two highlights where the opponent launched a long ball to just outside the box. Both times my keeper came out to clear but immediately turned around just as he was about to reach the ball. Defenders ignored the issue and opponent was allowed to round the keeper. I understand a (League 2) keeper might make mistakes but this felt/looked like an AI issue, not human error, especially as it happened twice in short order. match_recording.rec
