  1. If it wasn’t Black Friday round the corner, I think I would be going for that new to right now . Don’t get me wrong, I’m not expecting a gaming laptop to go in for less than £499, but there is a chance of a slightly better spec that could go in for a similar price. Only caveat, it mean I have to wait 2 more weeks to play FM20
  2. I think the Acer Nitro 5 is good value. It’s very heavy which puts me off slightly. i do like a lot of the spec of this one, just not sure whether it will run FM20 well? https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-pavilion-14-ce3520sa-14-laptop-intel-core-i7-512-gb-ssd-silver-10198863-pdt.html
  3. Hi all, I’ve been holding off til Black Friday to get my new laptop ready for FM20. Noticed curry’s have a few deals now if you think any of these are worth an early purchase or whether it’s best to wait until Black Friday? I want to run FM20 well and quick, but don’t tend to load many leagues. the first link looks a good deal, however 1.3GHz processor... is that not so great and not sure if it’s suitable for gaming? https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-pavilion-14-ce3520sa-14-laptop-intel-core-i7-512-gb-ssd-silver-10198863-pdt.html or https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/acer-nitro-5-15-6-amd-ryzen-5-rx-560x-gaming-laptop-256-gb-ssd-10189729-pdt.html or https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/acer-nitro-5-an515-54-intel-core-i5-gtx-1050-gaming-laptop-512-gb-ssd-10199732-pdt.html or https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Gaming-R5-3550H-GeForce-Windows/dp/B07S2ZLNS2/ref=asc_df_B07S2ZLNS2/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=235293541844&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4789977180415117760&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006674&hvtargid=pla-766667679500&psc=1&th=1&psc=1
  4. Has anyone started a save with Derby County? If so, how are u getting on? Any tips on players, tactics, signings etc?
  5. Good question! This is an area I have explored in all types of scenarios. I am confident in saying the best option if you are a prem team like Man Utd, would be to only loan out a youth with good potential to a championship side with first team status. If you start loaning players out to league one or league two, they are not only receiving poorer training, they won’t be playing in a higher competitive enough league in order to reach their potential. Also always remember to only accept first team or key player status. The only time I would accept rotation is if it was from another prem side with top facilities and rotation is more than you can offer the player. it also helps if you can get them at a club that is likely to finish higher up in the league so that they experience rich form. I.e. don’t loan out a striker to a team expected to finish bottom as it likely they won’t score much and therefore develop slower. hope this helps?
  6. The graphic cards on these laptops are too poor to run FM well. They will do the job, but you will have to adjust you expectations on game speed. To run FM well, you need to be looking at at least £600 plus on a gaming laptop. For around £600 you’d get something around an 8GB RAM, GTX 1050 graphics card and an 8th or 9th gen intel processor
  7. I couldn’t agree more. I have spend every evening of the last month researching the market and £600+ is what is needed to get a gaming laptop to run FM well. The first link to Argos is the best I had also found on the market, I’m just holding out until Black Friday to see if it goes in. A tech man once told me, buy cheap and buy twice and it’s so true. Either spend £600+ or not at all in my view.
  8. So the higher the GHz in the processor, the better it is to run FM well?
  9. Thanks for this, out of interest to help me gauge a better understanding in what to look for. What advantages does the first one have over the second one to why you say it is better? which would you say is better out off these 2 below for FM20 1. https://www.box.co.uk/FX505DY-BQ008T-ASUS-TUF-FX505DY-BQ008T_2440064.html#DetailTop 2. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/1690000 Is a RX560 better or worse than a GTX1050 ?
  10. Hi guys, I don't have the in depth knowledge of what to look for when it come to a good spec. Therefore is there an easy guide for me to keep an eye out for with regards to a half decent graphic cards and processor speeds that I should be looking for when buying a laptop for FM.
  11. Thanks for coming back to me. I believe is has a Intel UHD 610 graphics. I only every load one league, so my expectations are never high. I used to have a Toshiba satellite laptop that only cost me £299 new and that ran FM fine. I know these gaming laptops will obviously run faster, but are they really necessary u think? Hard to justify £600+ for just one game, as I wouldn't be playing any other games at all.
  12. Hi guys, looking to to move away from FMT to give the full version a try. I therefore need to buy a laptop, but obviously don’t want to be spending a fortune as I won’t be using it for any other gaming. anyone able to tell me if the full version with work on this.... Wasn’t sure with it being a 2 in 1. https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-ideapad-c340-14-intel-pentium-2-in-1-laptop-128-gb-ssd-blue-10193437-pdt.html any other recommendations would be most appreciated if not. thanks in advance
