  1. Absolutely, and I realise I'm not losing 20-0 because all crosses are mishandled, but it still sinks the CB rating like a stone. One missed cross and the rating dips below 6.4 and I have to yell at them at full time. I don't want to run a system to specifically deal with deep crosses and at the expense of an overall tactic, like I said I don't mind losing, and I struggle to make sense of the data the game provides, but even I can see how overpowered deep crossing is. Crossing was pathetic in FM15 and this feels like overcompensation for that. It's not like I run no wide players or have fullbacks as CWB-A and magnetised to the opponent's byline.
  2. I don't normally complain, but yes, like others have said, there is something wrong with crossing and how centre backs deal with it. Too often the narrative of my games is best the other team in every statistical department then oops can't deal with that cross from deep, lose 1-0. Centre backs end up with a low rating because of the 'mistake' of not cutting out the cross. Same goes for player managed teams too, it's easy to exploit how strong crossing is in this version, even if everything else your team does doesn't work. Losing the odd game like that, sure. Not to the extent it does happen though.
  3. Yes, I also would like to know what camera views you use. I can't for the life of me get mine to zoom out that far.
  4. Thanks for your time, Neil. All cleared up and working. Just needed to delete the cache.
  5. I'm getting this message: 3D Match Information You computer's graphics hardware is not powerful enough to display matches in 3D. Please note that matches will only be displayed in 2D. My GPU is a 980GTX. When I reset the preferences it reverts back to 3D but then displays the above message when returning to the start screen. This only seems to have happened in the last two days. 3D matches were working before that. Hope that's enough info, thanks.

  7. Thanks for that, very helpful. WE certainly are inferior to most opponents, I might switch onto the counter for a while and see how that goes. My quick players are definitely the two forwards. I set up a 4141 to help against opponents who exploit the space between the banks of four. Haven't had a chance to test it out yet though.
  8. If I'm managing a weaker (predicted 2nd last), semi professional side in a division comprised of professional and semi pro sides, would a defensive, stand-offish, possession based tactic be viable? I'm using a 442 as it suits what players I do have (don't have any AM players and only one DMC, and no one really wants to sign for me). My squad is very thin and lacks overall quality, but is fairly quick up front. I tried the direct passing tactic I used in the lower divisions but my team can't really pass for peanuts and the long balls are getting cut out by the better quality defenders I'm now facing, so I'm thinking shorter passing. I am concerned about the amount of space that appears between the midfield and defensive lines as well as behind my wingers. I struggle with the tactics in this game, not really knowing how to read what the game tells me. For instance I took my new short passing tactic into a friendly against a lower division side who lined up in a 451 and we never felt in control of the game.
  9. Does anyone have advice for handling a team that is obviously worse than every other team in the league - in terms of player ability? I'm HSC-21 in the Dutch Jupiler league, a formerly amateur team that somehow has managed to avoid promotion for the last two seasons. We are billed to come last, the player quality is dreadful compared to every other club. I've set up a defensive 4-1-2-1-2 (with a lot of help from Cleon's Defensive Arts thread) - largely due to the fact that we had no wingers, and it feels ok, match stats are generally good, it's playing the way it should, but I was managing in the Belgium Pro League for the last six seasons and the players I'm up against in this league wouldn't be out of place there. It feels like managing a Skrill South club that got magically promoted to League 1 with none of the development in-between. No-one really wants to sign for us, even youth players listed for loan from Dutch clubs turn their nose up. Is this just a case of the gulf in quality being too great and that sound tactics aren't going to make up the difference?
  10. Yeah that annoys me as well having the player instruction carry over to other tactics.
  11. I always figured everyone just goes for the target man. I only play with fullbacks as my wideplayers as the team lacks wide midfielders/wingers, so it's possible the target man isn't getting the service he needs. Maybe I should just change him to a DLP. In a strike partnership, with a AMC behind on attack, will a DLP on support work? The other forward is a poacher. I admit I do tend to just go with what the Ass Man suggests as to player roles. Thanks for replying btw.
  12. I saw it mentioned in another thread that Limited Defenders just boot the ball away without much thought as to where. I get this concept. So in what way are they actually useful? In the lower leagues almost every defender has Limited Defender listed as being their best role, so surely there is a way to make good use of this? If you want to play a direct game in the lower leagues would LD's be the pick or just CD's and instruct them to pass it longer. I feel that due to poor decision making and low creativity, booting the ball forward to a target man would be a decent option, but I just can't get it to work. Is this due to my using LD's?
  13. Interesting club. I wonder how far the club could go with an indoor stadium like that - like with minimum requirements for European competitions, etc. Good job!!
  14. Cheers mate. Shall be following, Belgium looks like an interesting place to manage.
