[Unable to Declare Top Target]

I'll preface this by saying I've played FM for years and I know my way about the game but I cannot for the life of me work this one out.

I am trying to declare a player as my top target using the usual Transfer -> Declare Interest -> As Top Target but the 'As Top Target' text is greyed out and I am unable to select the option, I'm playing as Barcelona and have Scouts and a DoF, I haven't set anyone else as my top target, I'm in September 2021 after the initial disabled transfer period and I am able to bid/offer players contracts.

It's driving me absolutely crazy and I cannot for the life of me work out why I am unable to assign a top target.

Has anyone else encountered this issue at all or know what could be preventing me?

I guess that's not as bad then, I'd still much prefer if those additional people were to focus on the main game however considering the current state of things.

I've honestly been pretty disappointed by FM20 and especially the FM21 'headline features' and it's clear if you read the announcement thread that a lot of peoples feel exactly the same way, especially when it comes to things like the match engine and graphics which I'd likely describe as having jumped back a decade if it weren't for the fact that it looked better a decade prior.

Stuff like this is quite honestly ridiculous at this stage and it just feels like we're paying for an updated database with a few minor changes each year and spend the first several months beta testing it until SI get round to releasing their patches to fix some of the bugs that should never have seen the light of day.

Bit of a strange choice from my perspective outside of the performative 'look how inclusive we are' aspect of things that companies have to go through.

Looking at FIFA 20 as an example where only ~2.5% of the playerbase even played a single women's game despite all the fanfare around the addition to the franchise, it seems to be quite clear to me that the vast majority of the playerbase didn't and doesn't care about the addition of women's football and I don't see why the Football Manager community would be any different.

When it comes to Sports Interactive - a significantly smaller studio than those working on FIFA - a studio that constantly has issues with development of the main game and an inability to deliver intended features due to time constraints I really don't see this as anything positive but instead something that's going to negatively affect the main game by taking away valuable development resources for something that the vast majority of those playing very likely won't care about at all.

It feels like a bit of a slap in the face when there are plenty of bugs and problems with the main game that go essentially ignored and the game takes several patches to get to an acceptable state but they are willing to dedicate a lot of time and effort into something that's ultimately destined to fall by the wayside.

New features and substantial improvements have been lacking for years and in some regards some things have taken a massive step backwards, I'd much rather that effort was focused on improving the main game because it's starting to feel like SI are just taking advantage of the community because they know that there is no real alternative.

I guess this sort of thing is to be expected though when there isn't really any competition in the market, it will be a good day when there is a real competitor on the market that forces them to meet higher standards.

Yeah, absolutely bizarre choice.

Now you have to dive through menus to check what was easily visible at a glance previously, very clunky and unintuitive feeling.

The recently relegated Toulouse.

 

Ligue 2 with a solid youth setup and a number of promising youngsters, should be good fun.

[Kit Selection Confusion]

Hi,

I have modified an existing French team with a series of new kits, Home, Away and Third in Black, White and Red respectively.

The Home kit is all black (with red trim), the Away kit is all white (with black trim) and the Third kit is all red (with black trim).

As expected I wear my Home kit (image attached) for all of my Home ties as expected.

For some strange reason I don't wear my white away kit for away games where I should expect to be doing so.

There are some clashes versus teams with white home kits that would mean I'd use Home/Third instead of white away (which is obviously to be expected) but some games I play versus other teams with no white in their kits at all but for some reason I'm not using my away kit (image attached with clashes highlighted where I'm using Home rather than expected Away kits).

Since I have an all-white Away kit there could be potential issues with clubs using white shorts (a couple) so I've also added alternate black Shorts/Socks as part of my Away kit under Alternate Kit with a value of 1 (image attached)

Can anyone explain why exactly I'm not using my Away kit versus clubs like Dijon and Montpellier despite them not using any white components to their home kits?

I've already downloaded it and enjoying it but it's definitely a shame that you're abandoning your work, it was by far my favourite skin and definitely set a high bar for all other skinners.

I hope you enjoy your time playing the game, you've made my experience much better already.

This is a massive improvement over your TCS 2017 skin that I used in FM17, the heading bar at the top of players/clubs especially is beautiful.

If I could make one suggestion though it would be to remove the black and white bars found behind the league/club badges as it will clash with a lot of badges (and it looks a bit unbalanced).

The player pages in particular are a thing of beauty and will provide a much better experience over the default skins - keep up the good work @bluestillidie00!
