  1. Always found the license prize money rule a bit mad. Clearly as time goes on players wages goes up and inflation takes place increasing the cost of rent, travel etc. There should be a gradual increase to Keep up with this or people will be put off doing any sort of long term save with leagues that don’t start with the big bucks like the top 5.

Winning multiple UCL titles with a Danish team and having the club reputation worldwide but still only getting the couple of million prize the league starts with just simply wouldn’t happen. I know it wouldn’t attract a deal like Spain or England but there should still be a way implemented that recognises an increase is needed.

Surely the game could have a feature where the sponsorship of leagues gets re-negotiated every 3-4years like would happen in real life.

  3. I think it’s about time these two tier 5 leagues are added to the playable leagues in Scotland now that the pyramid system is fully operating and ever more showing the teams coming up are substantially further ahead than the teams they are replacing. Given the recent success IRL of the teams promoted from these two leagues into the SPFL( Cove Rangers Highland league 2019 champions, League 2 champions 2020, league one champions 2022. Kelty hearts Lowland league champions 2021, league 2 champions 2022) and even this year with Bonnyrigg Rose of the Lowland league beating Cowdenbeath 4-0 in the league 2 playoff, I think it’s about time these leagues are given the exposure they deserve. Furthermore I think in general over the past few seasons there has been a greater interest shown in these leagues from the media and would appeal to many a player to have a go themselves.

    Thanks, Chris,

That worked, and I now have the file called 'Winter Update - The Full Scottish Pyramid' but I get an error message which reads:

'Requires maximum 17 teams for Highland League, found 18, Requires minimum 18 teams for EoS Premier, found 17'.

I think it might be because I have a file that has applied promotion and relegation from season 20/21 i.e. Kelty are up and Brechin are down. I think if I edit that file to change Brechin's league it should work okay. It would mean Brechin go to the wrong league but small price to pay between now and FM22.

    Cheers

Yes if you are using any other editor file with it that has advanced nation rules changes it might interfere. I only use a file that has database changes and that works fine.

Does anyone have a version of the Winter Update file? I have subscribed on Steam but it is not pulling the file over and the older one gives the database error message about requiring verification. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried unsubscribing, signing out of steam then sign back in and subscribe? Do all this without having the game open.

  6. Have all the player and staff pictures for Rangers FC disappeared after the winter update or were they never there? Noticed the other Scottish premiership teams all have some pictures included thought it strange unless there’s a license to issue.

Sponsorship depends on a lot of things and one of them is exposure abroad, would you start watching Polish football if one of their teams won the CL? I wouldn´t, it has no interest to me whatsoever, I follow my national and the English league and so do most people I know.

Just because you and your mates wouldn’t watch Polish football doesn’t mean there wouldn’t be big increase in demand to watch games on the tv if they did produce a CL winner. The football world doesn’t revolve around England there’s plenty of countries like Germany and Russia who take a big interest in their league and even more so if they started doing well in the CL.

Also on the sponsorship front it should increase as the league rep goes up. I did a save on FM19 with Ayr united for 20 years and got them promoted to the Scottish premiership and won the CL 3 or 4 times and my own club sponsors would have decent increases every season or 2 and the League sponsor and tv money would gradually go up albeit not dramatically. The league rep did go from about 14th best to 7th best however I think maybe if my league was more competitive rather than me dominating it that could help attract more money.

Spoke to the database creator and he’s advised that it isn’t guaranteed but you should have it happen if the board are that way inclined so I’d assume that if you can become a higher league side in the championship and above then it should happen eventually once you prove yourself to be a side that’s gunna stay around that level.

I thought as much, it’s an issue I’ve already raised that I think needs looking at. I’ve looked in the editor and the Scottish u18 and reserve leagues are set to maximum number of teams that can compete which with the youth leagues it is already at the max number of teams at the start of the game. So if you choose a team in Scotland with no youth team competing in the u18 leagues it doesn’t look like you’ll ever get them in. Where as realistically at the start of every season the FA should be asking if you want your u18 team to compete then expanding the youth league as required. Is particularly annoying with lower league saves as only some teams start with a u18 team so if you like developing youngsters it’s  disappointing also I’ve noticed if you start with the likes of Elgin or Montrose who have a youth team in the u18 league no mater how successful you become down the line eg champions league winner you’ll still play in the u18 league you start in instead of the elite one with the old firm.

ps enjoying keeping upto date with your save, particularly as I seen you come up against my hometown team of Cumnock Juniors!
