Update - Neither league is doing anything for 25/26. There hasn't been a preseason break so at a guess i would say its a scheduling error. Probably the world cups fault.

He will be managing a Chinese club at some point. My options were India, Japan or lower league China. Went to India, kind of regretting it.
The rule doesn't guarantee you will have keepers coming through the youth system and those that do may not be to the standard required. So all you end up doing is potentially creating a shortage and hiking the price up of current keepers.

Sorry you have lost me with that comparison. Chinese clubs aren't allowed to sign non-Chinese goalkeepers, it's not a board decision its a rule.

Seems a bit overkill surely? The Chinese leagues have the rule. 4 Chinese leagues, 16 teams each, minimum 3 goalkeepers a team would give you 192 players. No national team needs that many to choose from.

He is still at Everton in your game, so as long as he stays there on a month to month contract he shouldn't have an attribute drop. If he leaves mid July and you can't trial him then that might trigger retirement even with a future transfer arranged.
Most free agents retire after a year out, even players in their early 20s. Keep an eye out around March, some retire the season after. Delph retired at 32, nobody had picked him up by Feb/March the season after his contract expired and he announced for the end of the following season.

Must be. Looked him up in my game and he moved to St Mirren on a free 21/22.
He will have a big attribute drop so he certainly won't be the player you signed. There is a fix for £3.99, get the ingame editor and move him to your club. Technically some would class that as cheating but in the case of errors like that you can justify it to yourself.

I assume the transfer fee is a tribunal one. When you "approach to sign" by default it is set to the end of the current contract, checking mine on my save and the only option is end of contract.
He can't have played for two clubs between the 1st July and 10th July, he is moving within the same country so I am going to say its a bug.
I also don't know if you can take him on trial if you have a future transfer arranged, if you can't then he will be ruined with a year out.

I am seeing alot of leagues and clubs have a policy/rule of not signing foreign goalkeepers. What's the logic behind this? Are young goalkeepers that rare?

Well I am at a loss what is going on in my save then.
ABSA Prem - Didn't run 21/22 or 23/24
GladAfrica Championship - Has only run 19/20 and current season 24/25
Current season has Bidvist Vets in both leagues. Now I have discovered that what is going on is the Bidvist enter their under 23 team Bidboys in the championship but the game doesn't seem to handle this well. If you look at the period stage it shows Bid boys as playing nothing but the overall league has Bidvist.Cape Umowa Utd won the Championship in the 19/20 season and were relegated from the Prem 20/21. Since then they have been stuck in limbo where they should be in the Championship, the game recognises this much but hasn't scheduled anything.
Looking at random teams schedule in the Championship will show that the championship did run in 22/23 but didn't at the same time. There is no league table or any evidence for that season other than teams schedules.
I am just about to finish the 24/25 season so will let you know what happens with next season. I don't even think removing South Africa for a season and adding it back would fix it as it still sims promotion/relegation.The South Africa file has a modified date of 2nd March so I am pretty sure I am using his current one. Trying to win all 6 champions leagues and I really don't want to restart my save.

If anyone is playing in South Africa or has it loaded can you check if the leagues are working properly. Some really weird stuff going on in my save, leagues skipping a year, teams in both SA divisions.

Timo I have posted this in the bug forum but the Coupe de France has an issue.
Managing Magenta in New Caledonia. The winner of the NC cup enters into the Coupe de France. Coupe de France rules state you must use 7 players who featured in the last 2 first teams games and no more than 4 non-eu players.
As Oceania isn't in the EU there are a list of exemptions, all nations in Oceania (except New Zealand) and the African, Caribbean and pacific group of state nations are treated as EU. Except as you can see my entire squad is treated as non-eu including a dutch player! I had to go on holiday to get past the match which we won using greyed out players and a nice £6000 fine for not playing at least 7 players.Any ideas?

The Argentine premier league is changing to 20 teams from 24 over the next few seasons and for some reason custom editor files don't recognise this. Every custom database I have used for Argentina has the same issue so I took them all out and just use SI's file.
League 1 or 2 in England have a similar issue where with custom files there will always be 23 teams instead of 24.

If a club unsettles my player to a point they want to leave then fine, but they aren't going to the club that unsettled him! I do it to the AI and I am pretty sure the AI does the same thing. You have a relationship value with the AI manager and unsettling their players deteriorates it. The game says as much with the press questions about transfers with rival managers.

I have started adopting the approach of using Cerber for a max of 2 seasons then switching to annilhator for a max of two seasons. Working very nicely.

Go for FM20, only feedback I have on the ME is the ref is trigger happy with yellows and penalty's but since 20.4 it seems to have eased off a bit. Certain match events like VAR decisions can end up being rather predicable after a few hours in the game but I am loving the graphics this year, although that could just be football withdrawal.

I would like the ability to have player contracts and clauses as part of the club culture. I.e at this club we don't pay unused sub bonus or this club gives low wage but high performance bonuses like Spurs.

I thought the Club World Cup reformat wasn't set in stone yet. Fairly sure i remember hearing that a number of European clubs weren't interested due to fixture congestion.

If you want better youngsters then you need exceptional youth recruitment. There is nothing you can do to influence the PA of a player, just the CA coming in. The CA is influenced by junior coaching and youth facilities.
You are Bradford City, so imagine a radius around Bradford that represents your scouting network. You will only pick up players based inside that radius i.e Players BORN there. The better your network, the larger the radius and the better chance of high PA players coming to Bradford and not Leeds or City/Utd.
You also have poaching. Players are created in the game at X years old. So you have several years youth teams waiting hidden in the pipe lines. HOYD can poach from other teams/nations, just as your players can be poached by other teams.
HoYD can influence intake personalities aswell as positions to fit THEIR tactical style.
Coach reports can be spotty. I play with CA/PA on in the team screen so I know how off the coaches can be. Give young players 6 months 1st team game time and the reports change massively.
Edit - The absolute key to young player development is performances over 7.0 coupled with good training performances. You get both of those and baby you got a stew going on.
One final edit. The HoYD will poach from his scouting knowledge, this is good for getting African wonderkids.
