  1. Thank you, I'm excited for my time in Scotland! Glad you're interested .
  2. BREAKING: Marcos Alvarez leaves Torquay United Portuguese manager Marcos Alvarez has today joined Raith Rovers, in the second tier of Scotland. The move has come as a surprise and disappointment for Torquay supporters after Alvarez had just guided the club into Sky Bet League Two. Raith Rovers, who missed out on promotion last season, have said they hope Alvarez is the man who can get them into the Ladbrokes Premiership and take the club forward. Alvarez offered a short statement at the news of his departure from Torquay United: "I would like to thank all the players and fans of Torquay United for all being so welcoming and helping us succeed. It has been two great years that I will never forget, but I feel now is the time for me to take on a new challenge because I have left the club in good financial state and off the back of a promotion. I wish Torquay all the best, and hope they can consolidate next season in League Two. I'm very excited at the opportunity to manage in Scotland and hope to bring Raith Rovers the success they deserve."
  3. Thanks JHFM, I'm glad you're interested. Thank you BoxToBox, I'm pleased with the quality we showed this year.
  4. Torquay United - Season Review 2017/18 Vanarama National (Promoted as Champions) A simply brilliant season in the league, as we go up as champions. Nathan Blisset scored 27 goals in the league and Dion Sembie-Ferris won the player of the season and had an average rating of 7.55, the highest in the league. Eastleigh and Dover proved to be our main challengers throughout the season, but both of them slipped up towards the end. We conceded way less goals than last season and scored slightly more, so overall I'm very happy with the improvements we've made. The new signings all proved to be vital, especially Levi Rowley as a center midfielder. FA Cup We had a very good cup run, reaching the 3rd before losing to Peterborough 2-1. There were tons of goals scored along the way, with two games ending in 5-3 wins. No complaints at all on how this competition went for us. FA Trophy We reached the 4th round of the FA Trophy, losing to York City in the end. I feel like we could have gone all the way, but the league was always my priority over this competition, so I wasn't too disappointed to be knocked out. Finances For once, we are actually in the positive. Prize money and other stuff because of our title win has earned us some money back, but it is very likely that they will deteriorate again soon unless we really get a handle of player wages and start attracting bigger crowds. Squad The screenshot of the squad is sorted by average rating. Here are the most notable players: Dion Sembie-Ferris - extending his loan was the best decision I ever made. He was a wonderful player for us all season and notched 15 goals along with 7 assists. Daniel Sparkes - great season for the left winger in which he grabbed 17 assists. Levi Rowley - only 21 years old and he immediately became a key first team player. Double figures in both goals and assists. Nathan Blisset - amazing season for the striker as he scored 33 goals in all competitions and overtook Brett Williams as our star man up top. I ended up winning manager of the season. So I have since received a job offer which I will reveal later of whether I have taken it or not. For now, thanks for reading. Team | Country | Season | League | Final Position | Achievements ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Torquay United | England | 2016/17 | Vanarama National | 6th | -- Torquay United | England | 2017/18 | Vanarama National | 1st | Vanarama National Champions CV: Vanarama National (2018)
  5. Thanks King Costly! And you are working wonders with Weston-super-Mare.
  6. Torquay United - April 2018 Vanarama National We very nearly bottled it, but in the end have won the league!! We could've sealed the title in any of the three games this month with just one win, but we made things very tense for ourselves as the season came to a close. There was tons of drama against Sutton United, where Blisset gave us the lead in the 88th minute before they scored in injury time to deny us of a win. The game against Chester was also crazy as goals flew in at both ends, ending in a draw after 3 goals in the last 10 minutes. In the final day, with Eastleigh 3 points away from us, we picked up a draw against Lincoln, and because Eastleigh lost their game, it was enough for us to be crowned Vanarama National champions. The final league table. This has been a great season for the club in a hard fought title race against Eastleigh. Hartlepool are the club that went up through the playoffs and will also be in League Two next season. Whether I will remain at the club next season remains to be seen, as I've had a very interesting job opportunity arise which I may be tempted to take but I'll get to that later. Next up is the season review, thanks for reading guys!
  7. Torquay United - March 2018 Vanarama National A busy month in the league, but we have done pretty well to pick up 4 wins 7. The month started with a 1-0 win against Gateshead thanks to a goal by Nathan Blisset. Next we drew to Ebbsfleet, as we took an early lead but they scored just before half time to level the scores. Nathan Blisset then scored another late goal to get us all 3 points against Hartlepool. The game against Kidderminster was a big disappointment as we missed 3 great chances before conceding in the 80th minute. We bounced back with a 2-0 win against Aldershot with Blisset and Dembie-Ferris scoring. We then beat North Ferriby 3-2 courtesy of a late goal by Adam Morgan. The final game of March was a frustrating loss against York in which they scored late in injury time to snatch all 3 points. 7 points clear! A win in our next game will seal the title, so that is what I'm really hoping for. Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I have been very busy studying in school so I haven't had much time to play FM.
  8. Thanks JMA, we are in a strong position we just need to see it out!
  9. Thank you! I really don't mind being out of both cups, because the league is much more important.
  10. Torquay United - February 2018 Vanarama National Very disappointing to not win against Eastleigh or Dover, but we are still in a strong league position. We started off February by beating Wrexham 4-1 and having Dion Sembie-Ferris score another hat trick- he has been absolutely fantastic this season. Our big game against Eastleigh ended in disappointment after they scored two goals in the first 11 minutes. We went on to draw against a good Dover side at home in a boring game with very few chances. Despite only winning 1 game out of 3 this month, we are still 5 points clear at the top. Us and Eastleigh both have a game in hand on the teams below us, so this could turn into a two horse race. Things are getting intense! FA Trophy We beat Tranmere thanks to a goal by Sean McGinty, but then lost in our replay match against York City. The first game went to extra time where we took the lead, but they scored in the 120th minute to make it 2-2. I'm no too disappointed because this competition was never a real priority of mine, but it was still annoying to lose 4-2 at home.
  11. Just caught up with this. Solid first season and well done being top of the table now, best of luck!
  12. Great work on winning the league, this looks like a fun save. You selected some great countries.
  13. Torquay United - January 2018 Vanarama National A decent month in the league as we notched 3 wins. The first game of 2018 was against Boreham Wood, and was our 3rd game in 3 days, meaning the entire squad was exhausted so I wasn't expecting much from it and am just happy we kept injuries to a minimum. We bounced back from that loss with a 3-0 win against Woking with Deaman, Williams, and Morgan scoring goals. We then disappointingly drew 0-0 to Dag & Red as we missed a lot of chances. In the next match, Brett Williams bagged a brace as we beat Morecambe 2-1. We finished off January with a 4-3 win against Macclesfield thanks to a brilliant performance from Levi Rowley. 7 points clear at the top and I couldn't be happier with how we are performing in the league, this has been well beyond my expectations. We have some huge games against Eastleigh and Dover in February, so that will be critical to our title chances. FA Cup We fought bravely, but have lost 2-1 to League One side Peterborough. I was happy with the performance though, we took the lead after Rowley scored a free kick but from there they dominated. It was nice to give a League One side a run for their money though. FA Trophy This was a crazy game in which we scored a 90th minute equalizer and then smacked them in extra time. Dion Sembie-Ferris got himself a hat trick and in the next round we will play Tranmere.
  14. Yeah I'm sure there is in the real world. Luckily I noticed it a week before so I started rotated the squad and set the training work to "very low" which helped us a lot on our way through it. Hopefully we can keep up our goalscoring form!
