  1. 17 game winless streak sounds very similar haha! A recurring theme for this save so far has been the poor intakes and so it continues. I am very happy I chose not to go youth only because this would've been over AGES ago and this year's intake is nothing is the same, though perhaps a little better. Definitely have the best player to come through any intake so far though! The rest really isn't worth showing! However, I will show you Eloi. He might not even make an appearance for our first team, but he does hold the honour of being the best player we have produced so far. However, if we can continue to stay in La Liga 2 with the money we'll make I'll be able to ask for increases to our youth stuff and begin to mould good young players but for now. He's our top graduate! How have we been doing in the league though? A real mixed bag, our home form is the only reason we're not sat bottom of the table! I mean, it's not close to being a fortress but when we play well, we're playing at home! Still cannot find a suitable away tactic to use in this division. Nothing is working, cannot find that winning formula! One day I'll crack it, but not this day! We're not out of danger yet, but 10 points clear with 8 games to go, a couple more wins and we'll be looking good. I'm not trying to get ahead of myself, but survival in La Liga 2 could be secured with some games to spare which would be amazing! The small gains financially continue to come. Last month a profit of just £76k but I will take it. Until next time.
  2. Thank you, but as you are about to see, I have hit the struggles! Not all sunshine and daisies here in Barcelona! Playing much more like expected. The Winter months have been and passed as we hit the dying days of January. There's not point in beating around the bush. Yeah, it's not been pretty. At least it's proven that the 4-2-4 gegenpressing at home isn't as overpowered as thought. However away, my God! Do not get me started! I used the home tactic away to Leioa in an effort to beat a lower league opponent to try and raise morale. I have now actually gone back to the 5-2-3 wing play formation but I don't know how long for. I am not a mastermind when it comes to playing away. Signs of a poor manager. The table, as you can imagine after such a **** poor run looks far more predictable than us being just outside the playoffs for our first season in La Liga 2. I mean that is just stupidly tight! The weird thing is though, I actually prefer to be here because this is where we belong. If we were in amongst the playoff teams I wouldn't view it as realistic. A team of our stature and spending SHOULD be having a relegation fight. For example, our wage spending. There's no way we should be finishing anywhere near the playoffs. We are a very small and weak team compared to others in this league. So let the struggle continue...providing we stay up. I'll take a last day scramble and we score a 97th minute equaliser to stay up. I don't ask for much! Whilst we're on finances. We continue to make small gains every month but I'm certainly not complaining. Long may it continue, well, the gains. I don't want small gains forever! Finally, back to having bad intake previews. Back to normal service. Until next time.
  3. It has been three months since the start of our campaign into La Liga 2. Has it been a disaster? Am I on the verge of being sacked due to losing every game? Are we overperforming and flying high? There is only one way to find out. Here's how the schedule is looking... That's certainly a lot more green than I was expecting and I know it would be more than you were expecting! I am very, very happy with how the start of the season has gone. I was expecting a lot more losses than this, though our away form has been quite bad. After an outstanding 0-3 away win to Barcelona B we have struggled a lot when we're not at home. Enough about the negatives, let's focus on the positives. By that, I mean the table and our finances! There is zero chance I would've predicted us to be this high after 14 games. I would've guessed around 20th deep in a relegation battle. This is absolutely ridiculous and it's all down to one guy currently. We have scored 17 goals (Excluding own goals) and Paco Esteban has 10. He is carrying us at the moment. 13 starts, 10 goals and the only player with over a 7.00 average rating. I'm going to give his strike partner Sow more time to impress because of his 10 starts, 5 have been at AML due to injuries, so that's why his only goal for the season isn't as bad as it looks. But then flip that, 1 goal in 5 starts as a striker is worrying form. Finances, we are making positive money every month! Now it's not substantial, it's only like around £120k a month but that us huge because I was used to losing at least £150k a month so this is a massive step in the right direction! Now obviously the board and the fans are loving life and they have every right to feel this way! Oh yeah, we did also beat Espanyol at home! I fully expect them to get us back when we're away. Speaking of which, I have a new away tactic to try and stop the slump. I've already used it for the last 2 games, both draws. Moving away from the wing play 4-2-3-1 I've gone to a fluid counter attacking 3-4-3. Until next time.
  4. So I don't know what I was expecting sponsorship wise, but I think it was maybe more than this! I can imagine that £366k will be the lowest by some margin in La Liga 2. We'll see a tiny increase in money for our season and regular home tickets. There are 64 teams with a higher reputation than us including 3 teams in the 4th Tier! Oooooffff the TV deal email has come through and it is about £2m more than I was expecting! Wonderful stuff! This will help out massively! Right here we go, let's have a look at the team. Surprise surprise, a new #1 and yet again, it's a loan! From Cadiz this is Djibril Sidibe. Some solid technicals mixed with alright mentals, he'll be good. A little short at 6ft, I normally like 6'2 as a minimum for a GK. Now whoever notices what's wrong here first gets a quid. That's right, only 1 player who can play LB in the squad. I am £2k over my wage budget and trying desperately to find a LB on loan that I can get for no wages....which is proving to be very, very hard. Anyways. I opted to bring 2 older guys in on 1 year deals at the back to try and stabilize us in La Liga 2 and be good mentors, first up is Oliver Abildgaard on a free from AaB in Denmark. An experienced DM who I hope will take no nonsense and be a guy at DM who I can rely on this season. I plan on starting him most games which means he'll hit his 15 game extension clause, oh well! The other experienced guy is Dominik Plechaty on a free from Slovacko in Czechia. He comes in and I have him as our CB1. He will be an important player for this year. The last new guy for the back line I'll be honest, I perhaps shouldn't have gotten him as our RB room was already good, however, toward the ends of his trial, he looked too good to turn down. Hector was at Celta Vigo and we paid nothing for him. His defending let's him down, but I'm excited to see what he does going forward and being a marauding RWB even if his dribbling is lacking a bit. A few new faces in the midfield now. No matter the save, I ALWAYS run 1/2 DMs in a tactic. I love defensive midfielders and the roles they take. In my opinion, they're the most important players on the pitch, that's one of my coaching philosophies. I will aways trying to improve that position and I believe I have this window. First up on a free from Real Zaragoza is Jaime Tobajas. Not amazing, but solid and natural at DM CM and AMC which is great news for me. Next up and money spent on this one! For £52k Brusque in Serie C in Brazil is Matias Sosa Ugolini. I expect nothing from him going forward, but that's fine. He was signed just to sit in front of the defence. He will be a rock at DM and will protect the back 3/4. We were missing a good AMC and I found one in Argentina on loan from Independiente Rivadavia is Renzo Gonzalez. We just need to give him the ball and good things will happen. Good technicals paired with good mentals will make him a tiny bit dangerous with the ball at his feet. For the last 2 seasons we really haven't had a backup AML to Toure. That needed to change this year so I went out and got one. One a free from Sevilla is Daniel Blanco. To be honest, he is probably better than Gonzalez at AMC and I'd imagine he'll see more time there, especially as he's not a standout winger. We have no new strikers, I'm keeping with the 50+ goals partnership between Sow and Esteban. With the bottom 4 going down, that's exactly where the media expect us to be and so do I. Hold on, I've just noticed something!!!! Despite losing in the Promotion Playoff Final. Tropezon have been promoted! So I guess that was to just be crowned ultimate Champion of Tier 3 then I guess? But there they are in La Liga 2 with us. As to be expected, we are down the bottom of the sponsorship table. The same for season tickets due to our smaller stadium. The eagle eyed of you will have seen we finally get to face one of our rivals for this save and team number 2 in this city, Espanyol. I expect to do nothing against them...but still. Will be fun. We have also breached the 4.3k mark on season tickets considering we had the same amount around 3.9k for the past 4 seasons. Let's have a look at the rival tracker. This season is going to be tough, no doubting it. Hopefully I can make it at least a respectable campaign with the expectation of being relegated. Until next time.
  5. Thank you, thank you! Having both of them bang in goals this season was great to see, the most crazy thing is for half the season I was only running a one striker system! At home I have been using a 4-2-4 Gegenpressing system which having them combine together with our quality wingers on attack led to some amazing stuff. Let's look just how dominant we were at home. 51 goals in 19 games? That's ridiculous! Whenever they were both on the field it was pure dynamite! Then if we compare it to last year's home record. Which was still bloody good, we found an extra 13 goals due to the upgrade of a much better striker to pair with Paco Esteban and a better AMR. Now our away tactic this year was this. A focus on the wingers in a wing play 4-2-3-1 with me favouring Ibrahima Sow as our starting DLF. So 2 25+ goals strikers when half the year we were operating a 1 striker system makes it more amazing.
  6. So, the main success of our promotion season was down to our attacking prowess. We finished the league season on 80 goals from 38 games. That is absolutely insane! This is the squad with goals scored. Paco Esteban who only scored 11 goals in 33 starts and 7 substitute appearances last year turned it around this year and scored 37 in 37 starts and 9 sub appearances. What a year from the ex Atletico Madrid player! The goals and games include our 2 Copa Del Rey games which I forgot to include in the updates this season and the playoffs. Our two strikers combining for over 50 goals this season is beautiful. Both starting wingers popping up with double digit goals really helped out. Britez at the start of the season I said he was going to be an assist King and I was correct. 20 assists through the season from right wing is exactly why I got him in the hope for a season like this! £7k very well spent. To have a great season, you need many players to play consistently well over the season and that's exactly what happened this season. All those players to average over a 7.00 is a standout reason why we're going up. At the start of the season, I signed a 3 year deal with a +3 if we got promoted. I am going nowhere for a very long time. A B+?! We don't get promoted without him!!! He should've been an A+ rating like... £46k for 25 goals and 7 assists. Ibrahima Sow was an absolutely brilliant buy! Sponsorship should go up a lot and I've not looked at the La Liga 2 broadcast money yet to not ruin it for myself. I have no idea how much it'll be, hopefully a few hundred thousand at least... Right, I have £245k to spend and £16k in spare wages which is brilliant. No-one in the first team has a contract expiring this year which will be brilliant for team cohesion. I will be selective about who I bring in because I will expect us to get relegated next year so I don't want to ruin the club's future by spending all the wage budget and crash back down with very high wages. Gotta be smart, We're finally getting close to the big time! Until next time.
  7. So, no time to be upset/annoyed about missing out on the title on the final day by getting battered...we have playoffs to win. First up, a match at home against Real Murcia who are in Group 2 of the second tier, we were in tier 1. Okay, very good start. They played very well, but we were much better in front of goal. Now we gotta play well away and get through to the next round! Then between matches, something the old chairman didn't do in 5 years plus... We're still not looking good though! They absolutely battered us but we were able to escape with the victory and we move on to the Playoff Promotion Final. We beat them at home and lost to them away this season as they were in our Group. In another note, Tropezon lost their two legged tie, so despite being Champions...they're NOT getting promoted. A tight game, all even and we're lucky to get to the end of the game with a draw! It all comes down to this. 1 final game of the season. Win and we go up to La Liga 2 and get out of the third tier after 4 years in it! WE ARE PROMOTED BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY U.E SANT ANDREU are a La Liga 2 team for the first time 54 years! Until next time.
  8. So, was that intake as good as it was suggested? Was that striker a 'Fine prospect' as advertised? No, not really. I signed him still, but I got my hopes up when I shouldn't have haha! Onwards to how we have played at the end of the season! Yeah looks good until May right? Both of them two games were a killer, especially because our on loan GK who has been amazing this season was injured. Real Oviedo B had 4 shots on target and scored them all. Fuenlabrada had 4 shots on target and scored them all. We also happened to be 4-2 up in the 78th minute. Did the bad end of season form screw up our title chances? Oh hang about, there's one more game left to play, silly me. AGAINST SECOND PLACE FOR THE TITLE!!!! Look, we just need to not lose. Just a draw will do. lol In first place from match 27 until the end of the final day..... Playoffs it is. Although even if you win, you got into playoffs, it's not automatic promotion. Being Champions would've been nice though. There's still a chance to get promoted though...we F'ing deserve it. Until next time...though that won't be long.
  9. I have been keeping an eye on them due to the fact you're managing them! You'll be glad to see that in this update, they've turned things around a little! You join me now at the beginning of March and things have continued to go well as you are about to see! The two main things to take away from that. A lot of green and a lot of goals. Our good play has kept up which is fantastic to see! Despite all of this good form, the table at the top is still incredibly tight and means the last 11 games will be fun and all of them being important! Yes. With 11 to go, we are leading the Tier. It's going to be a great run in and I can't wait to continue playing! I am a little excited about our intake for the first time in the entire save. For the past 5 years it's just been rated as 'Average' however this year... I think everyone will suck apart from this striker which seems to be boosting up the entire intake. He could be something special, so I'm very much looking forward to getting him in. Let's look at the man who's responsible for him. He's been with us for the last 6 years and he's not amazing. But he's been the best person I could've had as our HOYD every year as I've looked to improve but there's been no-one. That continues to be true. Albert Ramirez is fairly determined and his £275 a week is so very cheap for someone like him. I'm guessing once we get promoted more people will be interested in working for us, but right now. He's doing a good job. Let's have a look at my assman too shall we? He's been with me for 5 years now and to be honest, I think he'll stay with me for the entire save. I don't think I'll replace him unless he leaves to join somewhere else. Only a Continental B so he has two upgrades left for improvement. His 19 motivation and 20 people management skills are elite and exactly what I like in an assman. Pepe Capitan will hopefully lift the Champions League with me one day. May as well look at me whilst we're here too right? I too, along with my assman and HOYD have 2 upgrades to go in the Continental A and Continental Pro Licences to achieve. The Managing Finances section is a lie, spent most of this save in the red haha! Speaking of... We really need this promotion... Until next time.
  10. Thank you for your kind words! I aim to continue to make it a great read. I was sick of that chairman repeatedly calling me into the board room, this guy is much better! Right guys, you know the drill. It's been 12 games, it's the end of October. I am here to show you what the start of the season has been like and I am very happy to announce that it's been our best start in this Tier so far. Obviously good news. Let's get into it! A lot of green and that's what you love to see! An opening day loss though had me a little worried thinking I had ruined the team was quickly set aside. Most doubts would if you then scored 10 goals in 2 games haha! You love to see all the goals we have smashed in. We do lead the Tier with 30 goals banged in from our first 12 games. If we keep this up (We won't!) we're heading for a near 100 goal season which would be quite outstanding! A bloody good opening to the season leaves the table looking very promising for us! Despite our very good, annoyingly Tropezon those punks are undefeated still, we're yet to play them though! We have them in 5 games, if they're still unbeaten, we'll change that! So I thought with these upgrades that we'd be amongst the highest spenders of wages in this Tier. I was shocked to see where we were! We are only the 10th biggest spenders in the Tier! Ignore the B teams though, obviously they're going to be on loads! The funny thing is, this is the lowest we've spent on wages in the last 3 seasons! So that is a pleasant surprise which also helps out with our finances...speaking of... I won't beat around the bush. In just over two months we've lost nearly half a million. The money from people coming in to watch us just isn't good enough. The more TV money in La Liga 2 along with better sponsorship deals will help us so much. The promotion this year if we continue to play well is vital! I think that's all I've got for this update. Until next time.
  11. Right, I have been a busy, busy boy. Bringing in 8 new players to improve the team and this time in the league, I'm expecting to be in the playoffs comfortably, not get in at the last minute! Let's get into it. Fourth year in a row with a different #1. I'd like a continuous first choice GK, but there's just been no-one worth it so it's another loan guy from Cordoba. Much like our loan GK last year, Juan Carlos Hernandez is good without being amazing. He'll do an alright job for us. Three new additions to our defence and they are all loan players too. First up, from Perscara we have the very versatile Luca Antenucci who can fit in anywhere along the back line and that is always handy to have. He's a cool player who will see a lot of action from the bench and will be readily available to step in to cover injuries/suspensions at all positions. We were really bad at CB with only 2 natural CBs in the squad before bringing this guy in from Lyon. This is Hakim Lacombe. If he's starting games then something is wrong haha! He's nothing more than depth and to sit on the bench for the start of practically every game. The last new addition to the backline is a guy in from FC Andorra on only £250 a week which is a bargain considering he's probably our starting LB for the season, Ruben Martos. His attacking prowess isn't there for a wing back, but I adore his physicals and mentals. Having him at the back will be really nice, there won't be much need to worry. Two new additions to our midfield unit, a loanee and we spent some money on a player! First up from Almeria is Tomas Marques who is a very well rounded guy. Good at everything, amazing at nothing. I am happy to have him in, he'll see a lot of time for us, I think haha. Our new AMR from Douglas Haig in Argentina for £7k is Elias Britez. I am hoping that his crossing and dribbling mixed with his acceleration and agility will make him a lethal threat from the wing and be an assist King this season! For £7k, I think I did good. Our last 2 new signings are strikers. I needed a better 3rd striker and a better main striker, I achieved both! Marcos Ramirez joins on a free from Laredo and is a much better third than Fernandez who's listed beneath him there. Just ignore his physical traits and he's a bloody good player! And our final new player for £46k from Ceske Budejovice in Czechia is Ibrahima Sow. He is our new main striker and I am expecting him to be a big success....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! The media like the look of him! Speaking of the media, how do they think the season is going to go? 7th? Hmm, I am personally targeting 3rd. That's where we need to finish. Both the board and fans are thinking the same. Supporters bring us neatly onto season ticket sales for the tier. We have been stuck on the same number for the last 4 years or so, I'm guess that's the current limit given our ground size! Finances are looking alright....for now. We'll be back in the red by Christmas is my expectation haha! Rival tracker! We gotta go up this year. Until next time.
  12. Good luck. I did this challenge earlier in the FM24 cycle and posted my journey on here as well. I was able to get India to a World Cup after many attempts and won a couple of AFC Champions Leagues. Probably the best achievement I've had on FM getting India to their first World Cup. Made a couple of ELITE World class Indian players as well.
  13. So, new owners and the end of the season where we were playing for contention for the playoffs....how did we end the season? Well, there's certainly some greens in there, was that enough for us to make it beyond the regular season? We certainly did!!! And we were rewarded with a tie against Villareal B. However, the tie was effectively over after the first leg, we were decimated by them and not deserving a thing. Yeah, it was too much to overcome, just a 1-0 win at home means the tie finished 4-1 to them, we exited the playoffs. Here is how the table finished. Overall, it was a poor season. The away form we had throughout the season let us down big time otherwise we could've had a very good season. Here's the squad by goals. We also had Carlos Espi who was on 10 goals when he was recalled to Levante because I wasn't playing him as Poacher despite him playing every game. I hate that aspect of loans, I MAY have agreed to that, but come on!!!! Overall, though, it was a poor attacking showing. And continuing to show how bad we actually were despite reaching the playoffs, our average ratings over the season. Not a single player over 7.00. Pathetic! Getting away from the bad news....some very good news. This will help us immeasurably. Especially with the minimum 18 full time deals registration rule! And because of this, I've just signed a brilliant new contract. Potentially a new 6 year contract!! But now we're full time again, I'll have to offer a lot of new contracts, staff and players. We did actually play in the Copa Del Rey this year, but we lost in the first round to Girona so no story there! The finances do continue to dwindle, we'll be back in the red before we know it! Big Summer window ahead for us! I am excited to get stuck in! Until next time.
  14. LADS! The old Chairman can do one as he just plain didn't like me. 'Old chairman'? Yeah, he's gone! HE'S CLEARED THE DEBT! WE'RE IN THE BLACK!!!!! For the first time in 5+ years!!!
  15. I've gone a little more forward than I normally do, as we're in the early days of March with 10 games left to go. How has the schedule been since the last update? Conveniently, all the games played JUST about fit onto the screen and there's one particular thing that will stand out. It has been over 4 months since we have won away. Nothing seems to work tactically wise. We are always the worse team, we haven't deserved to win away and that sucks. Just look at the away table. How are we meant to be competitive and do good with such poor away performances. Luckily our home form is keeping us in contention. We're still there just about, but the away form is making me quite annoyed! Just to keep you updated with club matters, the youth intake is again nothing to be happy about. Shock. Finances are still terrible. Important run in, we really need to get promoted this year and really need to find some form away! Until next time.
  16. It's been a little over two months since the start of the season. How have we done? Early promotion candidates? Languishing in mid table or surprise relegation fodder? Judging by that, it's looking good for early season promotion candidates right? I mean, 2 losses in the opening 12 games, that's bloody good! We're playing well, we're toward the top of table and I am very happy! It could all come crashing down, but I hope my managerial skills will prevent that from happening and take us to La Liga 2. Something I forget to show all the time is how we compare to other teams in the tier in relation to wage spending. Now, the teams with nothing in the 'Spend' column are 'B' teams so we can effectively ignore them for wage spend. So we're middle of the road for the division, but for a non B team we're the 4th highest spenders and this is the issue with our finances. £1.5m a year on wages is very high, but without spending, we just wouldn't be able to compete so we have to spend money! Although, this brings into play the Moneyball effect where you don't have to spend money to bring in good players...I am strongly considering doing a Moneyball save as my first main save come FM25... Couple things of note about some players brought in during the Summer window. Both Nacho Iriarte And Manuel Aren't playing for us. they're not registered. F'ing £3.4k a week being thrown away because part of the registration rules for this tier is minimum of 18 players on full time contracts. Remember, we're not full time anymore, we're part time. We only have 12 players on a full time deal. So I was physically unable to register these players and I couldn't cancel the loan deals as 28 days hadn't passed yet. So they're both, annoyingly, playing for our B team in the lower leagues. Extremely frustrating as both would be important players for us. However, I found a guy I got in on loan in the B team when I was moving them over, he must've been put in there instead of the first team squad when he joined and I forgot about him (What great player management by me!) but he somehow was registered. So you haven't met him before, here's Jaime Robles on loan from Rayo Vallecano. Mentally a beast with good physicals! Finally we've breached the -£3m mark, it's horrible. Time to keep pushing on and make our mark in this Group. Until next time.
  17. Yeah I know I just need to get into the second tier and life will be fine, it's just getting to that point now! So, I have been busy in the transfer market in an effort to make this the year we step forward and get promoted before our finances get so bad the save is over. It's heading that way. Third year in a row where we have a different #1. Nestor has joined us on loan Levante and has caps for the Spanish youth teams. I'm not convinced that he'll be any good, but he's the best who'd join us! Both our main CBs are injured, one for 3-7 and the other 2-5 months so the main priority this window was a couple new CBs and an upgrade at RB, at least in my opinion. First new CB on loan is Ilyas El Arbaoui from Athletic Bilbao. He looks to be a very dependable CB with some very good physicals. Another loanee, this time from Levante is Manuel. Just ignore the heading and this guy looks very good! I really like the look of this guy and I'm very happy to have him with us! Now, our upgrade at RB, on a free from Lazio is Juan Maria Hontecillas. Our RB last year was largely underwhelming and he is better in most aspects. We have two new faces in the midfield. Christian on loan from Burgos will be our AMR this year, can he replace our old guy? Hopefully. Very good crossing, quick and agile. That's what I'll be relying on this year from him. On loan from Real Zaragoza is Nacho Iriarte who looks to be a bit of a gem. I am training him to be a DM as he can't play that and that's where he'll be for me, but look at his stats! 17 passing, 16 vision, 16 teamwork, 15 technique, 15 first touch. I am expecting BIG things from him this year. Finally our strikers, one new guy. Another loan guy from Levante is Carlos Espi. Yeah he looks smart, should be good for a solid 10+ goals this year. The media believe we'll be a playoff team come the end of the year. Both the board and fans expect us to get playoffs too! Speaking of the fans, let's check in on them! Let's also check in on the rivals.
  18. So a disappointing end to the season, but there was enough there to be happy with our showing, considering we lead the league for a few weeks! Last season we only had 1 player who had double digits goal wise and that was our bloody AML! This year is quite different, thankfully. Here is the squad by goals. Paco Esteban the ex Atletico Madrid player leading the way with 21 goals and put in a lot of good performances over the year. Both our wingers popped up with double digits too which I am happy with. Matter of fact, I am more than happy with how brilliant they both were this season. Toure contributing to 25 goals from AML. Montolio with 27 goal contributions from AMR. Wow. Our wingers are amazing, whoever got them into the club really knows his stuff!!! However, Montolio is leaving on a free to join Brest in Ligue 2 unfortunately for us. Squad by average rating. Last year only both our wingers breached a +7.00 rating over the season and obviously they've done it again, you can tell that before I show you haha! We're up to 5 with a 7.00 or better which is much, much better! 1 place off the playoffs and only a D. WHAT A DISASTER!!!! Another year with no Copa Del Rey again, which I am still clueless about haha! All red, you hate to see it. Finances continue to plummet. OH JUST F'ING FIRE ME ALREADY DUDE, YOU OBVIOUSLY DO NOT LIKE ME! Oh not like I'm used to having no money here! My job is safe again...for now. Until next time.
  19. Yeah, I've really screwed the pooch with this one haha! Unlocking new ground.
  20. Well I'm coming in for a bit of a live commentary due to how close this run in is! With 6 games to go, the table is looking like this. Next up we're away to Fuenlabrada in 8th. We've been very good since the last update to keep us in the title picture, Some very solid performances. Let's see if we can keep it going! We had our youth intake but due to our very poor finances, I didn't sign anyone. A missed penalty at 2-0 pushed our XG up but we were poor and didn't deserve anything from that game. Luckily, teams around us didn't do good either! Next up, 5th Osasuna B, Also we've just lost our best CB who started every game so that's just perfect. So we're just deciding to throw it away by the looks of it. 15th place Cultural Leonesa away are next. We stop the rot! And with 3 games to go with a visit away to 18th Castellon. Awful game. 1 highlight the entire game which was a disallowed goal for them and this all but ensures we can't win the title. Next we're home to 2nd place Ponferradina. Blowing a 2-0 lead basically ends our playoff hopes. Maybe the end of the save if the board get pissed off with me and fire me for not making the playoffs. Away to 15th Deportivo Aragon. Sigh. 1 win in the last 6 games. We bottled it. And it was like I could see into the future. I avoid the sack for the third time in this save. Until next time.
  21. I come to you at the turning of the tide, but unlike Gandalf, it's not good. Three losses in a row including two in a row at home could be the start of an almighty slip, I hope not, but potentially could be bad haha! Up until then, I was happy with how things were going. We're still easily within a shot for the playoffs, Hell, even winning this Group. There are 15 games to play, so still a long way and anything can happen. Including us not winning a single game and ending in in 15th. Our next game is at home, we can't afford a third loss in a row. Another poor intake, so nothing to smile about in my life. Continuing the theme of nothing to smile about in my life. Until next time.
  22. First up, I should say that Crawley beat MK Dons 3-0 in the first leg of the League Two playoff last, get in boys!!! I'm halfway on my way to Wembley. 12 games have been and gone for us at Sant Andreu. How have we gotten on? I mean I can't complain. That is a very, very good start to the season and I'm a happy guy. Just ignore the 7-4 loss which was an outstanding game. We were 4-0 down in 18 minutes. 6-0 down by the 47th minute. Pulled it back to 6-4 in the 85th minute then they got the 7th in the 87th. What a stupendous game! However, not counting that, I am really pleased with how we've played. The 4 away wins out of 6 have been great. We've been running this tactic for away games. The possession has been bad, normally under 40% but we are creating a lot! 16 goals in 6 games away, you'd take that everyday! Then for our home tactic, don't boo hiss boo me, but it's 4-2-4 Gegenpressing. Hey! My assman says it's suits our squad and I'm inclined to agree with him. Though we've actually scored more away than home with 14 goals in the other 6 games. We are currently the top scorers in the Tier with 30 goals. Surely the 30 goals scored reflects well on the table right? Obviously. A brilliant start, long may it continue. Knowing my team though, you know we're going to have a mid season slump aren't we?! Both the board and the fans love me again. It won't be long until we're into the -£2m in the bank, lucky us! Until next time.
  23. Kicking off with some bad news. I have never, in my 12+ years of playing FM have I EVER seen this message before. I have really screwed the finances, I never should've said yes to that B team haha. Damn. Damn. Damn, So, the Summer upheaval wasn't as severe as I was expecting. Let's get into it. We have a new #1 on loan from Rayo Vallecano. He is an upgrade on who we've had between the sticks in the last couple of seasons, I wonder if he'll make an impact and show that he's better! We have a brand new CB and a new LB who is a current international..ooo! Javier Bordalas has joined us from a fellow Tier Three team in Alcoyano on a free. His mentals are alright, but excellent tackling with some good physicals make him a good rock at the back. Our starting LB last year only averaged 6.80 over 36 starts, not good enough! So, I went out and get an international player...from Andorra...but still. Marti Villa is a solid all round guy who is in his peak, I'm looking forward to a good showing from his this year. I decided that I needed a core of this team, so I went out and got 3 shiny new DMs as I normally run a tactic with at least 1 or commonly 2. Also got a new/cover at AMR. Starting with the least impressive DM in Wesley Dual. On a free from Barcelona, He will be DM 3 for the team, but I like his physicals and he'll be a good bruiser to bring on in the second half against tired players. Jon Garro is on a free from Real Sociedad and is much better on the ball and more attacking and that's why he'll be starting, but he's not that much better. Then the final new DM on a free from Caen is Ivan Pavlic, His mentals, physicals and technicals are all solid, he should be an important player for us! I needed cover for Emili Montolio who was our highest rated player last season, so in came Ismael Collado on loan from FC Andorra. He will mainly see time coming off the bench. The other new attacker is Paco Esteban on a free from Atletico Madrid, We didn't really have a third striker last season and he becomes our third striker but will see a lot of action. Very nice technicals mixed with nice physicals, he'll be a good addition! So, despite saying he was going to explore his options, we were able to keep our top scorer from last year, our AML Bazoumana Toure! Though, there were two paid departures. Now, Leo Saca went for £250k which I'm annoyed about, we could've got more but due to the financial mess, the board didn't want to try and get more as they just wanted the money asap. He joins Palermo. Also got a 50% of the profit on his next move, so I need him to have a killer season in Serie B. Also 2 installments of £57k. And then for £500k and 30% of the next transfer fee Alvaro Gonzalez who was only bit part player last year to Tallares in Argentina's top division These sales on top of our season ticket sales. Has our finances looking like this. Still **** poor. Both the board and the fans expect this from us this season. Yeah, I'm not holding my breath on this one. This COULD be the final year of the save. The media don't think we'll reach the playoffs and I agree with them. And finally, the rivals tracker with some new information on there. Again, let me know if there's something you think should be added/would look good on there! Until next time.
  24. So this season was 4 games away from disaster. It wasn't pretty. Going 12 games without a win and an almighty slide down the table had our job on the line but I'm still annoyed that the board and fans both wanted the team to finish in the top half. If you get promoted, I think you should always be happy with just surviving. Which have done, just about. Well no. Not just about, we finished 22 points clear of relegation which we should've been celebrating! But instead, the end of the season is bitter. If I was offered 12th place and 22 points clear of relegation, I would've taken it without thinking about it. However, everyone is sad because we didn't finish 10th or higher, **** off! There is no hiding though....we were poor for a lot of the season. This is highly reflected in our goal scorers this year. (Ignore the averages, the ones you can see are the last 5 games) Our top scorer was 12 goals in the league and he was our starting AML. He only reached double figures because of penalties though! Our two strikers were pathetic though. Both finishing on 9 goals. Both crap. Both very disappointing. Just looking at that makes me annoyed haha! The average rating over the season doesn't paint much of a better picture. The only two players to achieve over a 7.00 were both our wingers. Bazoumana Toure His contract is expiring and he won't sign a new one, he's gonna be gone. The highest rated player this season is our starting AMR Emili Montolio One of many players who's deal is up next year and will explore his options. Due to this and our still declining financial position, everyone who will be exploring their options, I will look to sell. I might only have about 4 players left in my first team. This is such a terrible position I am in, one of the worst I've had in FM. What a joke, I'm convinced the chairman just doesn't like me. As evident by what I'm about to show you. Only a B! A B! For beating three La Liga teams at home and losing the quarter finals after the goal was only to "Be competitive!" I hate this Chairman and board. All them greens look great in the financial page....if only that translated to our actual finances haha! Some 'Awards' I can imagine that would've been a pretty underwhelming award night. This is how I am ending the year with our finances. I am expecting a brand new team come the season opener, I will be looking to sell a lot and try to reshape this team. It's gonna be a busy Summer. Until next time.
  25. 4 games to improve the confidence. Was I able to do it? Of course I was able to because finally the performances swung in our favour! I had a month to improve confidence from after the Fuenlabrada game. Coruxzo was our first win in 13 games, F me! With 7 games remaining, we're 15 points clear of the last relegation zone so we're close to maintaining survival in Tier 3 Group 1. Not that it matters. Currently in our first team of 22 players. 8 have expiring contracts, I can't offer them new ones due to our bad finances. Then of the remaining 14, 4 of them are exploring options for the end of their contracts for next Summer. So I'm gonna try and get rid of them 4 come the transfer window and get some cash in! Youth intake happened, and it sucks as expected! Unless they accept a 'Youngster' deal, I cant's sign them. So, I keep my job, barely. Now it's time to see out the rest of the season. Until next time.
