Costa has been clownshoes all tournament, no surprise he made an error for the goal

I'm surprised Livakovic has never had a big move.

I wonder if these group defeats will help Spain and Brazil.
Brazil seem to think it is destined to be their year. They haven't really been tested, but a loss to Cameroon suggests the depth isn't there. It'll be interesting to see how they fare if they go a goal down in the knockout rounds. I have a sense they will be rather shell-shocked.
Spain, similar. Found nothing when they really needed it in adversity against Japan. Perhaps a case of believing their own hype after the 7-0.

With no-one getting full points and only 5 teams left unbeaten, I think it's fair to say there isn't a single outstanding team.

Let's face it, Brazil versus a knackered geriatric Uruguay in the L16 would have been dreadful

Simon is quite lucky the second goal is so controversial, it's taking attention away from him being terrible on the equaliser.
A good tactic for any opposing team is to just shoot on sight at him

That bottom half featuring England/France/Spain/Portugal is fun.

Spain haven't half pissed about the ball, when it comes to actually coming up with something when they need it, they're really lacking.

Any decent team should fancy their chances of scoring past Unai Simon, he's atrocious. A complete bombscare

Spain fannying around at the back led to that equaliser

Lukaku should be in tears after that performance. Abject.

Nice to see Danny Ward back to normal.

Didn't think I'd see a Djorkaeff play at the World Cup again.
Djorkaeff Reasco on for Ecuador. His dad played against England in 2006.
More players should be named after cult Bolton footballers in the early 2000s tbh

If we’re going to win it, we might as well right all the historical wrongs along the way.
Holland in the R16. Trippier goes the full Koeman ‘93, hauling someone to the floor when they are clean through. Then he dinks in a FK after he should have been sent off.
Then it’s Argentina in the quarters. Foden goes on a mazy run through their entire team, then punches in a second goal with his fist to make sure.
Portugal in the semis. Pickford takes off his gloves and smashes home the winning penalty after Ronaldo has been sent off for stamping on Jude Bellingham’s testicles.
And finally Brazil. They think they’ve won it after Maguire dithers on the ball and presents them with a first half lead. But then we carve them open just before the break, and second half Mason Mount accidentally floats in a free kick from 50 yards out.
Job done.
Then we leave FIFA.

Bento should be angry at himself for being such a **** manager at international level really

This would be a great game to introduce a casual viewer into the wonders of football, but who in their right mind would watch Cameroon-Serbia on a Monday morning

Serbia's right-back at fault for those 2 goals

This game is fun, mainly because the defences are so bad

Onana would have saved that.
Rigobert Song to have a tantrum on the touchline and get sent off at a third World Cup?

That was very unselfish by Orsic

Juranovic having a shocker
I can see why Celtic want to sign the Canada right back to replace him

Sort of game this where Martinez should rip apart this team. Don’t start with Witsel etc next game. Get some fresh faces in.
End of that era.
He (Martinez) shouldn't be anywhere near the team

Wonder where Martinez falls upwards to after this tournament

Anyone else conceding 2+ goals a game from corners?
