The fonts in each screen are not always adjustable using 1 font file without effecting wherever than font is used anywhere else in the skin.  You would have to amend the font in the specific xml for that screen/panel.

The match ratings colours are controlled in the settings file.

On the other issue:

How do I know then which fonts I'm altering? I've transfered the font group I want to use to my fonts folder and applied it (very basically I assume) to each XML file, but obivously there's something I'm missing lol

Well, let's got with fonts, lol. Trying to understand where each font goes according ot the file. Let's take your awesome FM Base skin.

On the "fonts" folder we have different xml files and I'm trying to understand which parts of the interface correspond to each file.

For example, if I want to make specific changes to the fonts in the squad screen to have a new font in a bigger size, which xml file should I change? In the SS I've attached there's how I have it now, but it really from trial and error, not really knowing which change and where it helped lol. I just replaced fonts in every folder and hoped it would be reflected here lol. But in this screen I want to change the main font and have it a bigger size. Where and how do I change this. If I want to make the tab fonts bigger in the upper side of the interface, where do I make these changes. 

This is really my main doubt.

Hi everyone!

I'm really interested in learning how to customize a skin.
I don't have the proper knowledge to make one from scratch, but I'm taking the framework of the nicer skins out there and just by studying them I'm trying to learn how to customize them, but I'm still confused about certain areas and changes I'd like to make (specific fonts for certain parts of the menus, backgrounds, colors, etc.)
In the SI forums there's some info about it but not really a "guide" (to call it that way) as to how to understand the basic structure overall of a skin (what do each folders and files represent,how to know what specific changes you're making in which area of the game, etc.). Just understand the structure of a skin so I know what sort of changes I can make. For example I know how to change fonts, but according to the different files inside the "fonts" folders, I tend to get lost as to which specific fonts I'm changing. I can switch backgrounds, but only specific backgrounds, not all of them, and I can't seem to find where to do so. Stuff like that. Not trying to do massive things like create panels or boxes or redesign panels or whatnot.

Do you guys know if there is such a guide?
