  1. I see, OK, thanks Kubi. So if I am still wanting to play a save without any "real life" players, or indeed their similar counterparts on the "use fake players" feature; would you suggest the best thing to do would be to go on holiday for circa 20 years?
  2. Hi all, Due to the fact I have knowledge of the real life player current abilities and potential abilities, due to using them for another hobby of mine (specifically football index betting), I was interested in using the "use fake players" option for the first time in FM2020. However, I have read up on this feature and it appears that this simply randomises player names/nationalities etc. and the players are effectively very similar - for example I have already found a "Danish Pogba" at Man United with a very similar DOB, attributes and his preferred teams are Juve and Man United.
  3. Hi all. I've been looking to implement a gegenpress tactic on my first fm19 save. When setting the default tactic, it sets the pressing intensity to "extremely urgent" and yet my box to box midfielders and various others have their pressing intensity locked as "less urgent." Is this because these roles aren't consistent with extremely urgent pressing and thus that individual role's pressing is limited to "more urgent", and therefore the level of pressing will always be "less urgent" than the default tactical instruction for example? Apologies if this has been covered in another
  4. Thanks XaW, I was relatively capable on '13 and '14 so I'm hoping I will get by OK, but if it's literally a case of not understanding how to use something, I won't hesitate to ask on the forums. I agree that getting players to fit my desired tactic is my first port of call. Whilst it might seem contradictory to my original rant, I actually agree with you here with relation to being in the camp of too much player info for those you don't have in your own squad. Whilst attribute masking means a hell of a lot more scouting needs to be done for example, it is not realistic to know a player
  5. Thanks all, I think I was quick to jump the gun on this one to be honest, purely because I've found there is a hell of a lot of new stuff to get my head around. At first it seems like hassle but I'm sure the features are valuable in the long-run. As some of you have mentioned, delegation can always be used too. I think in an effort to get a hold on some of the complexity, I was annoyed at myself for looking a bit more in depth into player personalities and killing some of the mystery for myself. I guess it's always a balance of trying to know enough for the game to not be a slog but trying to
  6. I’ve just started FM19 having not played a version properly since FM14. Obviously there has been a fair bit of overhaul in tactics, training schedules, squad cohesion etc. since then. As with the calculation of DDM plus relevant coaching stats to achieve 5 star coaching ratings, I feel as if a large part of the game is now requiring me to undertake research on “how to do it right” rather than rely on intuition and trying to work it out. I want to try and work out what training schedules to put together, and how to mentor players effectively etc. without needing to look it up, but I f
  7. I see, thanks for the thorough explanation Smurf, that makes sense.
  8. Thanks very much Smurf. I’ve ordered it. Noticed you liked the Asus Maxi brought up too which has a better graphics card. If only playing FM, will the graphics card only affect 3D match engine smoothness or something more? Maxi, if you did want the MSI you were previously looking at, I ordered it for £806 from Debenhams Plus today. It sounds like you’re not in a rush and will scout around but thought I’d let you know
  9. Hi all, Smurf, thanks very much for your help earlier on in this thread re: a suitable laptop for FM. I’ve had a think and have a couple of questions for you, Jordan, or whoever is willing to help! The attached 2 laptops are currently top of my list. The Medion has more Ram and a bigger screen. The MSI has a better CPU (according to the CPU link in your opening post it is 27th whereas the Medion is 141st) and an SSD. I am looking to play FM and also I will be using the laptop for work, moving files around both locally and on sharepoint as well as using office applications/browse
  10. Hi all, I am looking to get a laptop with a budget of circa £800. I would push to £1,000 if there was a relatively large level of added performance. I want to play FM as well as being able to browse/do some work, none of which will be very high intensity. These are the three I have been looking at - MI GF63 for £800, HP Omen for £700 and Acer Predator for £700 (the Predator can be bought for £700 rather than the £1K in the screenshot.) With an i7 I’m thinking the MSI is likely the best option? However when scrolling up I also noticed some comments about how an i7 doesn’t provide

  12. Rather than having made subs at the end of the game, I had just edited my penalty kick takers on the 120th minute and then there was no "continue" or "play" button etc. Thankfully for me AllUrBase's advice worked and space bar let me continue to the shootout, a big thanks to you! I really feel for anyone whereby there was no solution in this situation though, to go through a whole 120 minute game in most likely an important cup game and have this happen is devestating, SI really need to sort that bug as a matter of priority.
