  1. Nation: Big European (England, Germany, Spain, Italy or France) Division: Second or Third Media Prediction and board expectations: Promotion candidate Basically I'm looking for a lower division club that has potential to grow into a real powerhouse (relatively quickly). Something like Palermo was in FM14 when they had been relegated from Serie A previous season.
  2. Attributes are an abstraction of real life player evaluation. In real life scouts, coaches and managers can see with their own eyes in practice and in matches how good a certain player is. That is simply not possible with Football Manager's match engine. Not even if you watch a thousand games.
  3. I've been using this tactic (although I've changed some of the player roles) in my Palermo save with great success. Won the Serie B easily and finished fourth first season back in Serie A. Second season is even more promising as I'm in first place with no losses after six games. Don't know if it has anything to do with my success but I've kept the training focus on fitness the whole time.
  4. I'm playing 4-2-3-1, inspired by Jürgen Klopp's Dortmund and this thread: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/367741-Replicating-Dortmund-s-gegenpressing Working like a charm. As someone already wrote in this thread, Dybala's excellent as a false nine (although he wasn't that good during first season in Serie A, but he's been improving) and Vazquez is just the perfect playmaking AMC.
  5. Bump for Palermo. I'm having one of the most enjoyable saves I've ever had with them. I was aiming for staying clear of relegation but finished fourth first season back in Serie A (got me straight into Europa League group stage). And I have a feeling the second season is going to be even better: I truly recommend them to everyone, they have amazing players who can make an instant impact in Serie A (Vazquez had league's second highest average rating after Llorente) and equally amazing prospects coming from the youth ranks. They already have pretty good facilities and it's possible to upgrade as it's pretty easy to make a healthy profit once you return to Serie A.
  6. Had the exact same bug happen to me today: Even more strange was that the goal was disallowed for offside.
  7. Nation: A nation in Europe that has more than two playable levels Division: Lowest playable European Competition: No Media Prediction: Doesn't matter Board Expectation(s): Doesn't matter Transfer Budget: Some Wage Budget: Some spare Finances: stable Other: I'd like to be a team that has a squad which can challenge for promotion and plays in the lowest playable league of a country
  8. I've had my best careers with Ajax and HJK (my local club from Helsinki). Actually you could say that those two are the only teams I've actually managed to play the first season with. I just can't find the same enjoyment from other teams for some reason. But there have to be other similarly interesting clubs in the game aswell. So I'm looking for a club which is pretty much in the same position as Ajax (and HJK in smaller scale) were last season. They had some world class players (Suarez, Stekelenburg) and great prospects (Vertonghen, Eriksen, van der Wiel) and you could win the Eredivisie pretty easily but Champions League was trickier. In a nutshell I'm looking for: Nation: any nation in Europe except England, Spain or Germany Division: top European Competition: doesn't matter Media Prediction: title challenger Board Expectation(s): doesn't matter Transfer Budget: doesn't really matter as long as it's not zero Wage Budget: same as transfer budget Finances: stable Other: - has great, even world class players in addition with great prospects - is able to win the domestic league in the first season (with ease) but you have to work to really succeed in Europe
  9. Holidaying a season takes around 13 to 14 hours and double that when managing a team. Fast enough for me and I usually do other things in the meantime. Continue game timeout helps with that. And yes, I believe it is.
  10. It depends more on how many players you load. I usually select around 50 leagues from 30-40 countires with all players loaded from top division clubs on every continent (140-150 thousand players altogether) with my (almost three year old) Acer Aspire 5536 laptop.
  11. doesn't sound like a disaster as it's still early in the season, who have you lost against? just remember to be demanding in your team talks and I'm pretty sure you'll start winning eventually
