  1. To be honest, the only other game that will likely get played is The Sims, and that's only if my partner decides she wants to have a go...which she hasn't in the five years we've been together ha! It will mostly be used (aside from FM) for web browsing, Youtube, Sky Go, Netflix and the like. Dabble in the odd document on Word as well. The i5 should handle all of that shouldn't it?
  2. My budget was anywhere up to £700 tbh, so the two here, that you've mentioned previously, are well within my scope: https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/N580GD-DM230T-Asus-VivoBook-Pro-15-N580GD-DM230T_2358244.html https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/FX504GD-E41275T-ASUS-TUF-Gaming-FX504GD-E41275T_2458989.html However...if you can find anything being sold by Currys that comes close to these with the £700, please do let me know!
  3. Hi Smurf, I think I'm now leaning more towards the latter of the two, simply because it will actually spend most of it's time within easy reach of a power socket so the battery life isn't as much of an issue as perhaps I'm making it out. Just for comparison purposes, this has just been put on sale: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/acer-aspire-3-a315-53-15-6-intel-core-i7-laptop-1-tb-hdd-black-10188926-pdt.html - how would it compare (if at all) to the two mentioned above? Would it hold it's own in terms of FM performance? thanks in advance!
  4. Thanks Smurf. Would I be right to say that the only major differences between the £729 one I posted and the £650 one you shared is the processor? I'm assuming the processor on the £729 one is still good enough? The only other difference that I can see is the battery life - spec claims that £729 has up to 10 hours whilst the £650 is 3-4. I think I would prefer the battery life but if the processor is light years ahead on your suggestion I could plump for that.
  5. Hello all! First post on these forums in a long time. I've had my laptop for 10 years now, I've been wanting to replace it for the last few years but personal circumstances have prevented this and also cut down on my FM time anyway. Not really played a proper game of FM since FM15! Anyway, I'm looking for a new laptop, hence my post in this thread. Whilst I have every intention of using it solely for FM, it's likely that it will also get used by my partner for work (Word etc, nothing too strenuous) and also for browsing the web/playing videos from YouTube etc. Possibly even the occasional live-stream. If my partner was ever to play a game on the laptop, it would likely be The Sims...! I'm not going to pretend I don't have a limited budget but I am willing to spend a little more to get something that will last a good few years. I don't play FM in 3D, but I do like to load a number of leagues, usually on a large database. Here are some laptops that have taken my fancy with my (limited) knowledge of what I'll likely need: £429.99 - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/acer-aspire-3-a315-53-15-6-intel-core-i5-laptop-1-tb-hdd-black-10188915-pdt.html £499.99 - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-14-ck0596sa-14-intel-core-i5-laptop-128-gb-ssd-silver-10188780-pdt.html £499.99 - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/acer-aspire-6-15-6-intel-core-i7-laptop-1-tb-hdd-black-10181104-pdt.html £579.99 - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-14-ck0599sa-14-intel-core-i7-laptop-256-gb-ssd-gold-10180995-pdt.html £729.99 - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-pavilion-15-cx0598na-15-6-intel-core-i5-gtx-1050-ti-gaming-laptop-1-tb-hdd-128-gb-ssd-10189868-pdt.html £849.99 - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/dell-inspiron-15-7000-15-6-intel-core-i7-laptop-512-gb-ssd-silver-10188862-pdt.html Although I've ranked the above from cheapest to most expensive, I don't want to just buy, say, the £729 one if it's just as good as the £579 - naturally. And by 'just as good' I mean for the purposes I need it to serve. Side note - all the links I've provided are for Currys because I can get 8% cashback through a scheme at my workplace - I'm willing to consider laptops from other sources but they would need to be more than 8% cheaper...! Any help or advice would be very welcome
  6. Congrats PM7...only, what, 10 steps away from European glory now?!
  7. Decent looking group draw there - must be looking to go deep into the competition now. Good luck!
  8. 6 casual days in Portugal and six goals to show for it!
  9. It's months like that that will be crucial in your bid for survival!
  10. A very strong start much have given you so much hope for this season but inconsistency seems to be crippling your bid chances of, dare I say it, a top four spot! However, should you get back to your early season form you should have no problems in qualifying for Europe this season. Good times to be a Roma fan as well I imagine!
  11. Flying high with some high-class players brought in and to come...the future looks bright!
  12. Congrats on the Cup win. Now to try follow it up with a top 6 league finish next season!
  13. Looks like you could have a wealth of success domestically, abroad and on the international stage!
