  1. UEFA cannot change the UK labour laws but they can change the wording within their own guidelines to limit the maximum length to say 5 years for FFP purposes negating the advantages.

As pointed out by others it does run the risk of a player failing and the club being stuck with them on a long contract.

I always usually try and build a tiki-taka 433 variant but I have really struggled in this version. Also, I tend to disagree with @Tee2 and I don't think the current squad is good enough to dominate possession in the way we would like (Although it is probably more likely that I just can't build it!).

As such, I have developed a 442 variant and dare I say it 1) It looks a little like the Invincibles 442 2) It seems to be working (albeit in pre-season friendlies)

I'll do a pre-season write up properly but I also managed to sell Ozil to Napoli (stunning)

How much did you manage to get for Ozil ??

Had real difficulty trying to move him on ... Napoli seems to be the only team that buys him

    Arsenal FM 2021

Pleased with my dealings so far.

Sold Sokratis for £8.75m, Cedric for £20. Yes, I know. Ozil off to Napoli or Lazio for £5m with us paying £175k per week for the season. I did try to play him but he was making so little effort and also in training that I got rid of him.

Brought in;  Djibril Sidibe (L/R Full back) £12m, Houssem Aouar £15m up front rising to £40m and taken a punt on a few promising youngsters, Martin Palumbo MC/AMC (£5m Udinese), Thomas Poll DL (£5.5m FC Groningen) & Thijme Verheijen ST (£4,5m VVV-Venlo). Somehow still got £4.5m left so might go on the hunt for a promising young GK.

Partey, Gabriel, Pepe, Sidibe and Aouar all standout performers pre-season.

Did well selling Cedric for £20mil, did you list him or just receive a bid in and who bought him.

See Ozil being an issue in this game.

  4. Currently the only finances that can be effected in game are the transfer funds/wage bill slider and would like further options.

Player clauses are able to be bought before financials come out to reduce the amount being taxed.

Loans/debts can be paid off completely, reduce payments or reduce term length.

When requesting board for improvements or extra staff and the board refuses the option to use transfer/wage funds towards it.  (ie staff on 1k a week offered a year contract will take 52k from funds)

Ability like Man City to buy clubs as feeder clubs.

On subject or feeder clubs it could be more informative.

Clearly display number of years to gain countries nationality.

When clubs say they boost merchandising sales an estimate amount would help.

Advertise (like staff) for feeder clubs.

    Any other suggestions welcomed

have you done anything to youth acdemy i've only had 1 quailty regen rest have been rubbish and i'm in my forth season

I have done every upgrade the board has allowed me to do so with both training and youth facilities state of the art.

Had great centerback come through potentially Saliba level talent according to scouts and signed a similar level one from ManU.  The two wingers (one each side) I had come through potentially could be Saka/Nelson levels.

Early report is an excellent intake this year but only at end of January so will have to let you know what I get comes out.  (Promising fullback, promising centerback, attacking midfielder to keep an eye on and very handy winger)

  6. I lucked out in my current game by managing to sell Mesut Ozil to Manu in the first season for £47.5mil with no wage contribution with selling Mustafi to Brighton so was able to bring in a number of top players over 3-4 year payments from the start.

By selling them I was able to bring in Ruben Dias, Florentino, Verschaeren, Haaland in as first teamers with Pellegri, Gravenberch, Bellingham, Camavinga, Marco Kana, Kenneh, Vazquez, Hickey, Kotchap, Armini and Gasparini into u23.

For 500k/month loan deals Mavropanos went to Derby and Gouiri went to West Brom.

January window brought Chinese bids for Sokratis and Kolasinac  so replaced with Upamecano and Chilwell.

Chambers had played really well but unhappy since Ruben Dias arrival so accepted Wolves £42.5m bid.

Manu came in paying £67m for Xhaka so bought Dani Olmo in  … Selling 4 players did screw me somewhat in Europe as could only replace 3 players and lost a spot.

Intake gave me wonderkids on both wings and at centerback, with a dozen passable regens coming through.  I Bought in the best English regens available (a defender RC/WB is first team ready) for each position along with several top rated regens.

Summer window big buy was Milinkovic for £62mil with Reinier Palacios.

Out went David Luiz to Wolves. On loan went Gouiri to West Brom £500k/m, Mavropanos Nketiah to Palace £500k, Palacios/Reinier £500k to Hispalis*, Elneny to Ac Milan £250k (mandatory fee £21m) and Mkhitaryan £500k at Roma (mandatory fee £19.1m)

January window a couple more regens arrived including a potential worldclass German/Spanish goalie.  Gasparini is not far behind Martinez and will replace him as backup at end of this season with the regen the 3rd/u23 keeper.

Development centre says have an excellent intake, judging by notes should get 4-5 quality regens through.

Lopez, Medley and Sheaf will leave end of season through loan options completed (£18.5m) having played 20 times.

In the summer will have to sell off a number of first team players to allow the youth players to come through more.

Also got to stop buying so many regens !!

  7. My profile is set up with high determination that helps with arguing with the board for upgrades and feeder clubs.

In 1st season (started Brazil date in May) and have gained 4 feeder clubs to date in Feb.

QPR in championship with 1st option and loan deal, added scouting knowledge.

Sunderland in Division1 1st option and loan deal, added scouting knowledge.

Vallecano second division in spain but going to get promoted.  Great for loaning some of my non eu players as 2 years to get nationality.

Frontale in Japan to boost merch and scouting knowledge.

Colarado is good for marketing relations.

I normally send players who are not going to make it to Boreham Wood on free transfers with 50% sell on fees so keep that one.

Unless you renegotiate the deals at Wadi Degla or Gai Lai for first option/loans they are pretty useless.

First half of the season is now done! We're currently sitting in 1st with 54 points (17 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss) - Liverpool have a game in hand over us but are only on 50 points, so there's a little cushion there.

Stats wise I'm not hugely happy with how we're doing. We're 6th for possession, but only 11th for passes completed. We've created the highest number of chances by far (105 to Everton's 77) and have the highest number of shots on target (241 to Liverpool's 200) but we're just not putting away as many as I'd like, especially considering we've scored less than Liverpool.

In terms of playing personnel, we had big injuries to Mesut Ozil (broken leg before the season began) and Bruno Fernandes (torn hamstring) so we were without a couple of our best midfielders for quite some time. Aubameyang has been our best player so far, with 25(5) appearances and 14 goals, 11 assists. I've been quite impressed with Reiss Nelson so far and he's made it quite hard to leave him out of the team, with 19(2) appearances, 9 goals 5 assists.

I'm going to try not to buy too many players in the January window, although a better backup LB may be required.

I also got this nice little message in December:

    GoldenGen.PNG

Nice pull, interesting to see what you get when the players turn up.

Had similar youth intake preview with terrific group of golden generation coming through.

Had a lot of fullbacks coming through with promising CB, very handy winger … could be great but really wanted a goalie.

  9. Continued my save last night and bought in a couple more players leaving my transfer budget down to £10mil.

    Spoiler

Hickey is a cheap at 150k and my board love it.

Marco Kana was £3m with £6m/3yrs and can play multiple positions.  Signed him on deadline day (his birthday) so he came in on 4yr deal rather then 3

Bella-Kotchap was £3m with £7m/2yrs who I wanted to pair with Armini in youth team

Have commited spending of £60m for 2020 and 2021 and £37.5m for 2022 so going to need to sell players end of season.

Good start to season with 2-1 away win at Aston Villa and 2-1 comeback at home to Liverpool although my Defence is looking ropey to long through balls

Right then here's the deal this is the player I've identified as Auba replacement however he would fail to obtain a work permit UNLESS i pay 18 mil upfront what should i do

I don't think Hurtado for £18m is worth it, would rather stick with Nketiah.

Try unsettling a few of these ..

    Spoiler

Haaland … paid £32m/3 deadline day of opening season.

Pellegri … Upset him and loaned for season.  Have option to buy at £6.5m but is transfer listed at £4.3m.  He does pick up minor injuries frequently so is best to rotate him.

Esposito …  Scout him well as can be either world class or Bendtner

Arp … Goal machine in my german save for Bayern and normally £10-12mil at start of game.  Is on high wage at Bayern

Gouiri … Managed to upset and sign for 9m/3 and loan to West Brom for £500k a month and full wage.  Will rejoin end of season after full year as starter in England and earn me £3m.

Impressive amount for Ozil! never tried having my start date as May, will try that if i make a new save with the Official February Update!. It's further evidence that start dates really do have a large effect on being able to sell players for differing values.

Those are some very good loan fee's i might have to try for higher ones like that again, i kept getting the impression £300k was the most the AI would offer me so never went past it.

Unsettling players really is a great tactic :).

Starting a couple of months early means the youth players aren't as developed as starting mid July and are cheaper,  teams are also trying to balance the books too.

With Arsenal there aren't many players I haven't managed to unsettle in truth it sometimes just takes time and multiple bids, wait and do it again.  I often do it to rival teams to drop their morale too.

With the Loans of Mavropanos and Gouiri I did them on July 1st if that helps

  12. I have just restarted my Arsenal game from old save load which I set the start date from Brazil in May.  By doing this it gives me extra time to sort out the backroom staff/scouts etc and I find you can pick up some players far cheaper.

I try to unsettle as many transfer targets as I can so once I sell some players I can bring in some top quality starters for a fraction of their value.

I start off by buying in some of the best youth talent I can to stock in the u23s

    Spoiler

Gasparini Armini Kenneh all £500k upfront and £500k/2 years.

    Vazquez for £1.1m fee release

Gravenberch £1m fee with £800k/2 years.

Bellingham £2m fee with £2m/2 years.

I managed to upset Gouiri buying him and immediately loaning him to West Brom who are paying his full wage and 500k/month.  Mavropanos went on loan to Derby for 500k/month paying full wage

    Spoiler

Paid Lyon £3m for Gouiri with £6mil over following 2yrs but West Brom paying me £6mil just to loan him for the season.

Next was brilliant as Brighton paid £22.5m for Mustafi and ManU paid £46.5m for Ozil (20k wage left to pay).  Never managed to sell Ozil the 1st time round so need some new arrivals

Signed Pellegri on loan with future option after unsettling him

Haaland, Verschaeren, Camavinga, Florentino Luis and Ruben Dias all came in

    Spoiler

    Haaland £12mil with £20m/2 years

    Verschaeren £6.25m with £12.5m/2 years

    Camavinga £6m with £12m/3 years

Florentino Luis £13m with £28.5m/3 years

Ruben Dias £12m with £27m/3 years

SC  Lacazette  Haaland  Pellegri                                                           Light blue is u23/cup games

    LW  Aubameyang  Smith Rowe  Martinelli

    RW  Pepe Nelson Saka

    MC  Verschaeren  Ceballos  Willock

    MC  Guendouzi  Xhaka  Bellingham  Gravenberch

    DM  Florentino  Torreira  Camavinga  Kenneh

    LB  Tierney  Kolasinac  Vazquez

    RB  Bellerin  Chambers  Maitland

    CB  Sokratis  Holding  Medley

    CB  RubenDias  DavidLuiz  Armini

    GK  Leno  Martinez  Macey  Gasparini

One of the best squads I have assembled going into the first season and have just over £16m left heading into last day of transfer window.

Will seriously need to balance the books in the January/Summer windows and try to balance the squad

In between Windows I'm looking to recruit some good prospects. The usual suspects are all in the multi millions. Looking a little cheaper. My head of youth development has signed 1 in 15 months.. A free 18 year old who's pants and potential is 1 star 😂 any tips. I can't seem to set up a scouting assignment for this neither. Won't let me 'create a new assignment'

What country are you playing in ??

Hi. Would like to start a online game for 2 players very soon and I was looking for some club combinations too play with :)

    Preferred leagues:

    Spain

    England

    Germany

    The Netherlands

When I play against friends it goes by the teams we support or balanced teams.

I support Arsenal but my mate supports West Ham which put him at a huge disadvantage last year so we have decided to go to Italy for fm2020 and give him the advantage this time .. He has Napoli and its Roma for me.

Guess key is to pick teams at the same level financially and in terms or players.

  15. I like the idea of being able to mold players at a younger age into more suitable positions.

A further suggestion I would like on youth intakes is that you could perhaps prioritise a position of need.

It wouldn't guarantee a wonderkid quality player but would allow more players in said position.

  16. I would like the option to request that the clubs board use cash surpluses in more constructive ways.

    1)  Before the divided/tax bills have to be paid that there was an option to pay off some of the clubs debts and thus reduce these bills.  This could be done by paying off the entirety of the debt or ability to restructuring/reducing the payments/time.

    2)  Able to hire staff above the board limits.  Extra staff can be signed with the wages for the duration of contract taken from transfer funds, so additional coach on 10k/week 1 year contract would require £520k fee removed from transfer funds.

    3)  Allow money to be set aside for future building upgrades.  If for instance I wanted my clubs grounds capacity to be increased that I could pay for it from player transfer funds.
