  1. The loan system in this game is just bad. It's very difficult to loan players out because of reputation problems -- hot prospects will snub the teams where they would actually get lots of first-team time, and will only go to teams that have high reputations and then subsequently get no playing time. Loaning players is supposed to be a great way to get your young players first-team football, but most of the time loan spells end up ruining my young players because they just rot on the bench at their loan club. You can always include the 'can be recalled' clause, but teams seem much less likely to want to loan players when you include this clause. You just can't win! I know that the AI isn't the best at squad-building, but it's kind of ridiculous for a team to take a player on loan and never once put him on the field. We really, really need a player interaction option that says "I'd like to send you out on loan to get some first-team experience". If the player agrees, he should be open to going to a lower-league or at least lower-rep team in some lesser league. Sorry for the rant -- I love the game, but it's just a shame that a part of it that's so critical for youth development is so broken. Ugh!
  2. Is it possible for a player to be injury prone, but without your coaches telling you about it (on the coach report)? I have a young striker who repeatedly gets injured, but I scouted him for some time before buying -- my scouts never said anything about being injury-prone, and my coaches don't either. Maybe it's just really bad luck. I only play him when he's fully fit, so I don't think I'm the cause of the injury problems...
  3. So then why don't we have the "pay family to move" clause option?
  4. I don't remember ever having matches on consecutive days, but I've definitely had my share of every-other-day scheduling nightmares. The worst is when you have 3 games in 6 days, and the last of the three is away at Old Trafford. How am I supposed to win that game?? But by far the worst scheduling bug I have ever seen was an international friendly that was played on the same day as the Champions League final. As Arsenal, my best midfielder (Ramsey) was unavailable for the game because he was playing in the friendly. Stupidest thing ever.
  5. Why is it that if you buy a youth player from another team, sometimes he can't make the move to your club for several years? Can young players not move clubs until they're 17 and can sign professional contracts? I don't know anything about how youth contracts work, but why can't you work out a deal to acquire such a player immediately? Also, is there any difference between acquiring a player like this by "approaching to sign"/paying the compensation fee, and actually negotiating a transfer for him? I just found a 15 year-old in Brazil, and my scout tells me we could buy him for under $100k, but if I attempt to directly sign him, it tells me I have to pay a $1.7m compensation fee. How is the compensation fee calculated? Sorry for all the questions!
  6. What would you want to do with a head scout? In my scouting setup, I basically have two unofficial "head scouts" who I mostly just use to scout, for 3 matches, the most promising players found by my other "lesser" scouts. Is there something you would expect a head scout to be able to do that your normal ones can't?
  7. Thanks for the help -- I basically did the same thing. I just gave him a lot of first-team time and eventually he just went from being alienated to being normal and happy again (with no notification). I do think it's kind of unrealistic that if a player's alienated it's impossible to have a conversation with him.
  8. That's the strange thing -- his personality is professional, and his determination is 19! I have the exact same approach as you do -- I only look for players with the right personality types and heavily favor highly determined players. It just seems odd that he's acting this way given his personality. The thing that makes this tricky is that while I'm only a few weeks into the season, his contract expires at the end of the season. So if I can't get him happy soon, I'll probably lose him.
  9. I've got a future-star young regen, a center-back, who is only 18 but came to me near the end of last season demanding more playing time. Since it seems reasonable to send a youngster out on loan, I told him I could loan him out to get him more first-team football. Then all of a sudden, he flies off the handle and wants to leave the club! Now every time I even attempt to talk to him, I get "I believe our relationship has broken down and talking won't change that". I've tried to make him happier by giving him plenty of first-team starts this season, but he hasn't changed his attitude. I don't want to lose this guy because he'll probably become a world-class center back. Is there anything I can do? I've had players before who requested transfers (though this player hasn't actually done that yet) and then decided they wanted to stay, but it was never clear to me why they changed their minds.
  10. Yes -- improving both training and youth facilities. I didn't realize that this would go under 'ground maintenance'. That's interesting though that you were able to expand the stadium -- it tells me that it's already at expansion capacity so has never given me the option.
  11. I'm playing as Ajax in 2014-2015, and I just noticed that the club is spending $6.5m a month on ground maintenance!! Is this normal? I don't remember ever spending this much in other games.
  12. As Ajax in 2014, I've built a very strong young team that will probably be contending the the Champions League title in a few years. But can I expect the money to start flowing as I improve my reputation and my performances improve in Europe? I guess what I'm asking is: is it possible to take a smaller club and build them into a Barcelona-type club with huge amounts of income via TV deals and sponsorship?
  13. Okay, thanks for the answers -- I'll pass on it.
  14. As Barcelona, I've been offered Cole for $25m (that's dollars, not pounds) in my first season. Should I pull the trigger? He's much better than Abidal, but he's 30! Anybody know how much his attributes decline or whether he can remain a great left-back for several years?
  15. Say something nice about the manager to the press?
  16. I'm playing as Barcelona but he's not in my U19's. I found him but he's not contracted to any club, and when I try to sign him he's not interested in signing with me. Bug?
  17. Other people managing Barcelona saves have mentioned this player as being a good youth prospect for the club, but I can't find him anywhere on my save. Anybody know where he is?
  18. Is there an option or something to do this (or an option to not have the search screen search as we change filter parameters)? The player search screen is painfully slow.
  19. Anybody have a screenshot of him at 26-27 with proper training and development? Can he turn into a world-class striker rivaling Messi? I know he's already really good even at 19, but how much better can he get? The AI always screws up his development.
  20. I know Neymar is expensive and has loads of potential. Does anyone have screenshots of him at 26 or so when they've fully developed him the right way? In many of my saves the AI doesn't develop him properly and he just turns into a pretty good striker. I know Cleon has a Santos save going, but I don't think he's advanced far enough to show what he looks like at this age. I'm just wondering if it's worth spending all the money early in the game, given the proper training and development.
