I want to make some application to generate data- from excel or some other way. Its big project for me but we will see
You do? Willing to share the work when you made it work as well?

importing data through a spreadsheet would be higly wanted by me.

I don't know if this is totally related to tactics, but in my last three games my team hit the post for 9 times!
And yes, i'm talking to my players to take ball into the area. Why this is happening?
Bad luck, I have it too. They do score well too but just hit the post far too often.
You could, however, check if they try to score from narrow angles, as that increases the likelyhood of players hitting the post, especially if they are skilled.

Passing penetration - my question is what happens if i don't select any option in team instruction?? I am developing a tactic and cant decide between 'exploit middle' or exploit flanks'.
What happens if i don't 'exploit' anything?! What determines where my players decide to concentrate their passes?
I play an attacking 433 with shorter passing BTW.
Thanks in advance!
They will just look for viable passing options as determined by players in space and the standard passing length for your players.

Own left flank, doesn'tt qualify for most stupid question though.

This isn't true imo. My decisions 6 forward didn't play as a lunatic in My fluid setup 8 years (in game) ago, now we have risen a few leagues his lack of decision making is fatal to his play with my balanced tactic right now. This implies all atributes are relative to the strengrhs of the opposition. So not using certain philosophies or restricting creative play is pointless to me.

You can choose between both options when designing assymetry in the team. I would use a back four and a DM in front of them. But that would just be me, there are plenty of options there.
I had some succes in my save with this setup
GK (goalkeeper, defend)
DR (full back, support)
DCR (defender, defend)
DCL (defender, defend)
DL (full back, support)
DMC (anchor man, defend)
MC (deep lying playmaker, support)
MCL (central midfielder, attack)
ML (wide midfielder, attack)
SR (inside forward attack)
SC (deep lying forward, support)
Passes chanelled through left flank, the SR was the main finisher since he didn't get marked in the final stages of the attack)
Again, this is just an example, I used it mainly because of the restraints on budget/playing staff in my LLM save.

Go as solid as possible in defence, make a total assymetrical attack, trying to overload one area of the oppositions defence would be my best bet in trying to win anything with 'minnows'.

I can't get my midfield to play through balls! They are both set DLP and AM - support. They are forward enough to play through balls and the opposition are not pressing them giving them time to look up. I've told them in PI not to shoot from distance, yet they still shoot more often than not.
How do I fix this? I'm playing Control also.
Are there palyers free to play through balls to and is their passing range long enough to be allowed to reach those players if there are?

Yes but it's not more reliable. You could easily upset the balance of your tactic if you don't know what you're doing.

I think I have read here in this thread (or some other, not sure) that PI override TI, but what about OI ? Is there an hierarchy of instructions ?
It wouldn't be useful if the OI's didn't override the PI and TI instructions so they come first in the list.

c) Hidden attributes + team talk + morale + situational stuff (like competing for the 1st spot, trying to avoid relegation, how well you're doing in the match, how much pressure the team recieves/puts on the opposition, ...) combined with hidden and visible attributes.

The strategy settings affect lmost all settings, including closing down. There is no need to alter all those settings in team instructions.
The more defensive you go, the less your players will close down.

Only learning your tactic.

Skills needed : Working with youngsters, Level of discipline, motivation, determination and judging player potential.
Good personality! If he has good professionalism and determination, it increases the chance of your youngsters to have likewise personalities.

"Head of youth development" -- What does this guy actually do in my club (besides coaching?), and what skills does he need to do that job?
"Director of football" -- I know some of what he does, but what skills does he need?
The HoYD could bring in youngsters for your team, making it important to have one that has a good personality (determination/professionalism,..) and JP.
The DoF's skills are depending on what you want him to do. If I choose have one, it doesn't matter all that much, he's there to sell/release players only.

I'm not even going to ask you why you did that.
Maybe your problem warrants its own thread, if you give enough details, I'm sure someone could help you out because, imo, this is a tactical issue that should be quite easily resolved.

You do ask them to run wide with ball.. Maybe you could drop that and see what it does to your issue here?

i don't think so... unless it's conflicting to instruct both IF's and WB's to cross or to have drill crosses in team instructions.
it is difficult to judge without a thorough explanation of how you play. Since I don't witness the same things you do, there must be a difference in how we approach things. So there is probably something you can do about it, but I can't tell which instruction it could be, sorry.

I will do so, cheers.
Word of advice, if you see a thread started by Cleon, wwfan or Llama3, chances are pretty good they are must-reads.
Still trying to know if anybody have been noticing curious movements from both IF's and WB's: frequently one or another have the space to make a through ball, to cross or just run with the ball right through the goal but instead of cuting inside in that direction, they stop and start running to the line :confused:Soem conflicting instructions in your tactic perhaps? Can't say I have seen that sort of behavior with a gelled squad that is familiar with the tactic.

@Suggy33
Have you read post #2 in this thread? It will teach you how to analyze yourself what went wrong with your tactic. It is the best way for you to have a quick answer because you can do it yourself entirely.

Mine too, I think we're arguing the same point, sorry for the confusion.
Hes already Model Pro so I dont want to lose this by tutoring him with someone who is determined just to get his determination up.
I would, however, like to find a way to increase his determination without risking the Model Pro personality, hence the original question.
Cheers
We where, I was just confirming I agreed with you 100%.

Model pro is better than high determination, imo.
