tommyg1111
Hi guys, im a guy who loves playing fm mostly to experiment different tactics and roles, recently in one of my saves I came across basically a Trent Alexander-Arnold regen, 18 passing and vision as a right back, basically the exact same player. Now, I could just train him to be a dm or cm but I like my midfielders, and I have been a big fan of inverted wing backs this year on FM. The role I'm trying to get out of him is in the screenshot attached, basically what trent is doing this year. Dropping in between the CBS and playing long balls and expansive passes while also maintaining possession. I figured out I could practically do this with playing him as a dm on anchor, with take more risks on and more direct passing, but if anyone knows how to achieve this from him inverting from fullback, please let me know. You could try him as an IWB(d) as well, HB will give you that exact passing range + movement though.
tommyg1111
Yea, i meant halfback instead of anchor sorry, but yea maybe iwb(d), ill have to figure out how I can get that to work with another pivot maybe a segundo volante as my starting dm?. Something I will try is iwb(d) and then my pivot Is on dm(s) with go further forward. let me know what you think!
CJ_Randell
Don't ignore player traits too. Something like 'comes deep to get the ball' might in courage him to drop towards the CB's from a DM role. You wouldn't necessarily then need to use him as a half back and could apply more of a playmaking role. A Regista perhaps?
