National Team

So I’ve started a new save managing a national team it’s good fun but I’m finding it hard to work out what players I should be calling up there’s nothing like a national pool of players that I can look at. I’ve been looking at the player search function and filtering players from my nation but I can see any current ability or anything. The only thing I have to go off is value. I can see a current ability when there in my squad but no where else. I thought maybe if I had some staff like coaches or scouts I might be able to see more info but I can’t find anywhere if I have or can have any staff. Am I missing something obvious or is there a solution. Thanks
