Tuesday Report

FA CUP

Watford - Reading 4-1

2 own goals and a penalty against my side, all this in one game. I was so angry that I wanted to kill with my hands every player of my team.

Premiership

Reading - Fulham 3-1

I decided to leave the "Spaletti-Roma strategy" (4-2-3-1) and come back to my old strategy (5-3-2) that gave me some great victories in the past (Man Utd - Reading 1-3). We dominated the game and Doyle scored a hatrick.

Premiership

Arsenal - Reading 2-3

After having vanquished Man Uth at Old Trafford, I thought this was the only time I could beat a giant in its territory. I was wrong. We started very well the game, after 15 mins we were leading 0-2 with 2 goals of... Doyle. Unfortunately Van Persie scored a double in 5 mins. From the second part of the first half to the end of the game I played "catenaccio" in order to survive and maybe to win the game in counter attack. I used the 5-2-2-1 tactic. We finally won the game and resisted well to every furious assaults of Arsenal.

Premiership

Reading - Wigan 0-1

Both team played well. Wigan won that game because Doyle didn't play as he was injuried. Lita and Kittson didn't play well.

Comments

Beating Arsenal leaves me happy even if I am very disapointed with the FA Cup game. Hopefully Doyle will come back as soon as possible.

A very poor week by Chelsea’s standards, getting knocked out of the Champions League was very disappointing and now my side seem to want to lose the Premiership. This side needs a serious reality check and a kick up the back side to get their form back.

I’m very disappointed to lose out on the premiership. The team lost its momentum during the last three weeks of the season which isn’t good so I am going to have to sell some of the deadwood and bring in a few new players that can keep the momentum going in another title fight next season.

Reading - End of Season

Comments:

I can be proud of what I did. Indeed finishing at the 5th position WITH READING behind the big ones (Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal) is just amazing. Reading qualified for European competitions! Great feeling!!!

Important decision:

Once the season over I couldn't resist of being the new coach of Newcastle. My manager reputation at the end of the season was high enough for the Newcastle high management to choose me as the new coach. My dream of becoming the Newcastle manager became reality.

Regarding Road to Glory:

This is my first season at the Road to Glory Clan. I am very happy about the overall organisation. I am looking forward to be part of the clan for a long time.

Newcastle first shock:

The worst nightmare became reality. The day I became Newcastle Manager, my stupid assistant sold Owen to Roma for only 10 mio. RIDICULOUS!!! I wanted to create a team around and for OWEN. This was my most important player. I can say that my adventure at Newcastle started really badly. I even wanted to resign. Fortunately I am stubborn, confident and proud so I didn't resign. But my plan to create a team around Owen vanished... This is hard to accept it but I finally accepted it.

Newcastle Revolution:

Players sold:

- Owen (by my worst ennemy: my stupid assistant)

- Pattison

- Milner

- Krul

- Carr

- Butt

- NZogbia

- Faye

- Barton

- Enrique

- Forster

Players bought:

- Donati (CM) from Celtic

- Yepes (CD) from PSG (Paris-Saint-Germain)

- Cristiano Zanetti (CM/DM) from Udinese

- Bianchi (ST/CF) from Man City

- Santacroce (CD) from Brescia

- Modesto (LB/LW) from Reggina

- Gastardello (CD) from Sampdoria

- Ben-Haim (CD) from Chelsea

- Pardo (AM) from Feyenoord

Player(s) that I am looking to purchase:

RB/RW: Pinzi/Sagna/Zenoni

Start of the Season first eleven (5-3-2 ATT):

1. Given

2. Beye

3. Modesto

4. Taylor

5. Cacapa (Yepes)

6. Ben-Haim

7. Geremi

8. C. Zanetti (Donati)

9. Martins

10. Prado (Emre)

11. Bianchi

First comments as Newcastle Manager:

I am happy to be here even if the Owen case was hard to accept. Without Owen, my ambition will only be qualification for Europe.

okay, season synopsis and round up.

Gerard Dooley ~ Server 2 ~ Forest Green Rovers

Having taken over the club halfway through last the season, the board were relying heavily on me to keep an already struggling side in the Blue Square Premier, clear of the drop zone. A massive uphill task for any manager outside of a transfer window to shop on, and any real hopes of contending for the relegation race i was about to encounter.

Well, after an uphill battle, and some raw talent displayed by the forest green players and management alike, the team managed to finish an extremely respectable 9th place in the blue square premier, becoming the Overachievers of the league.

On behalf of myself and the Forest Green Rovers board and chairman, i would like to thank the players and the 259 fans that purchased season tickets for this season, we couldnt have done it without your utter grit and determination to see the team through thick and thin, without you, we would never have made it.

( even when you set an all time record low attendance of 11, and when 5 of 16 players were absent from training) You still proved your guts, guile and determination would see you through ) GOOD JOB LADS!

Well, the new season brings some eagerly anticipated signings and some much needed transfer budget, at this stage i would like to thank the board for putting their hands in their pockets this season and producing a whopping £8000 to spend on players, jee thanks guys, you're the greatest.

As for every other aspect of the team, well, we're pretty much screwed this season.

Heavy reliance on my youth team is a must here, and i released the rest of the team so thats not really a valid option.

Only a true great could get Forest Green Rovers out of the sticky pool of financial and performance related difficulties they find themselves in, and thats why they have come to me. Best of luck gentlemen, throughout our season......For all else is shadows and dust....

Season commenced with a friendly or two, of which a match report is unavailable as my assistant manager stepped up to the plate, damned right, it was time he went and earnt his wage.

The rest of Forest Green Rovers' season hangs in the balance at this minute in time. I have no big name transfers to report, no key signings that i am approaching.

But remember this fellars, if anything, history is only ever written by the victor, and today, now, this season, i am the storyteller.

Expectations

Ive managed to keep hold of last years squad after finishing a respectable 7th in the league. Key players such as Anelka and Diouf have now signd extended contracts so it looks good for the future.

During the transfer window ive been fairly active brining in 2 experienced strikers in Pizaro and Viduka to provide the squad with more depth. Hilario was brought in as emergency cover for jaskalinen as I feel lehtovarra is still to youn and experienced to take over the reigns.

The rest of the players I have brought in are all players for the future, I expect huddlestone and wijnaldum to be involved a little in the first team and should compliment the growing array of young talent at the squad.

Prediction

Leauge = top 6

Fa Cup = quarter final

league cup = Quarter final

Manager Comments

Good start to the season and very pleased to finally beat Man Utd, especially when its in the Community Shield again. Made a few good signings during the summer and I’ve sold some of the dead wood. I still need to bring in some players and I am definitely selling Shevchenko as he is yet again suffering from personal problems.

Newcastle

Premierleague

Portsmouth - Newcastle 4-1

My first game was a nightmare. Taylor was disatrous. Bianchi was injured. Martins was in Africa. The players didn't adapt well to my strategy. This was my first game as Newcastle manager and I can say that there is a lot of work to do.

Premierleague

Newcastle - Chelsea 0-3

Far to easy for the big lion to eat me up. Indeed I would have like to face them later on when I know the team and the lads know me. My revenge is being prepared.

Premierleague

Charlton - Newcastle 0-3

We deserved this victory even if we suffered a bit in the first half (because of low morale caused by two succesive defeats). Bianchi scored 3 goals confirming his talent. The whole team played well. I changed some of the strategy to a more simple and basic one in order for the players to play without mental barriers. It worked. My comeback is starting. I believe in Newcastle.

A very good week for us with an exception to Portsmouth game in the Carling Cup. I was decided to give player like Kaboul, Eduardo Ratinho and etc (2nd string player) a chance to play in competitive match. Being undefeated in first 8 premiership matches in the new season is really special for us especially after a very disappointing first season. Was expecting tough test against Man Utd, Liverpool, Bolton and Chelsea but to be honest we dominated each game.

We are playing above the expectation and the most important is to stay focus especially in premiership matches.

Elsworth joins West Ham

Jamie Elsworth has joined West Ham United as manager on a long term deal. The former Torquay United centre-back, widely regarded throughout the professional football ranks for his future managerial prowess, has made the step up to Premiership level.

Elsworth joins The Hammers on 6 points from 5 games into the 2008/09 season and said he is extremely excited at the opportunity to manage West Ham,

I'm honoured to be the manager of a club with such a proud history and tradition. This club deserves to be in the top 10 of the Premier League and I want to get them there and beyond.

Tuesday 22nd January

13th Sept

Premier Division

West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

A superb display of goalkeeping from Rob Green meant that Jamie Elsworth started his tenure at Upton Park with a goaless draw against Tony Hall's second placed Chelsea. Both sides had their chances but Green's breathtaking save to deny Rafael van der Vaart's curling strike was enough to earn The Hammers a precious point.

17th Sept

Euro Cup

West Ham 2-0 Dinamo

West Ham's first game in the Euro Cup ended in a comfortable win for Elsworth's men and put them in control ahead of the second leg. Goals from Bobby Zamora and Craig Bellamy meant that West Ham scoring in the second leg would put them in complete control with the away goals rule in place. However, the game was overshadowed by an injury to first-choice centre back Anton Ferdinand, putting him put for a month.

20th Sept

Premier Division

Charlton 0-2 West Ham

The last game of the session saw Elsworth take charge of his first away game. Craig Bellamy bagged a brace in the second half to secure all 3 points for West Ham. Shola Ameobi had a goal disallowed for Charlton for an offside ruling at 0-0, but that was as close as they got to a goal, mainly due to a brillaint dipslay of old-fashioned defending from covering centre-back, Matt Upson.

Comments

"I am extremely happy to open my Road To Glory account with 3 clean sheet and 7 points from a possible 9. Hopefully the team can build on this and we can push on. Joining the game in September means I have 4 months to see the squad and pass judgement on the players currently at the club. If needed, I can add some flair in the midfield and some fire-power up front in January if need be."

Look every Wednesday for West Ham United progress

Manager Comments

The 2 sessions on the 17th & 22nd went well and got our motivation going. The session on the 29th let us down withy a few poor results and an embarrassing League Cup exit to West Brom. With only one defensive midfielder fit I need to bring in a new defensive midfielder and I have done so. In January Gilberto Silva arrives and will help us strengthen the midfield.

24th & 29th January

24th Sept

League Cup 3rd Round

West Ham 0-2 Aston Villa

The League Cup was the next port of call for Jamie Elsworth's West Ham but Aston Villa knocked an understrength side out with a 2-0 win. With striker Craig Bellamy rested, Elsworth saw the real lack of goalscoring threat from his attacking players.

27th Sept

Premier Division

West Ham 1-0 Man City

Craig Bellamy's goal on the hour saw West Ham record a somewhat fortuitous win over John Rice's Man City. Valeri Bojinov, Darius Vassell and Danny Sturridge all missed chances for City and Rob Green put in another great performance.

1st Oct

Euro Cup

Dinamo 0-2 West Ham

The Hammers went into this game with a 2-0 aggregate lead and that scoreline was repeated away from home. Kieron Dyer and Bobby Zamora scored the goals to send them through. The next round draw some them grouped against Juventus, Celtic, Getafe and Maritimo.

4th Oct

Premier Division

Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

They say that the manager who wins the manager of the month award always lose their first match of the next month. Well, the player of the month curse struck this time as Rob Green conceded his first goal in the league under Jamie Elsworth; and then three more. This was all after Craig Bellamy put West Ham ahead after 3 minutes and it was only 2-1 after 89mins but a late Berbatov brace sealed Spurs' win.

8th Oct

Premier Division

Blackburn 0-0 West Ham

A real lack of quality on the pitch by both teams shone through as this game ended in a 0-0 draw. Bellamy was once again missing through injury and Bobby Zamora was unable to step up to the mark as he missed a succession of chances.

18th Oct

Premier Division

West Ham 1-1 Everton

Joseph Yobo's header cancelled out Dean Ashton's early penalty as The Hammers and The Toffees shared the spoils at Upton Park. Ashton converted his penalty as makeshift striker Kieron Dyer was fouled, but Yobo slammed in Mikel Arteta's corner in the 76th minute to equalise for Everton.

22nd Oct

Euro Cup

West Ham 0-3 Juventus

A West Ham team were outclassed by a great Italian side as Juventus went straight to the top of Group B of the Euro Cup. Dean Ashton got no service from the wide players Matthew Etherington and Freddie Ljungberg as a lone striker and 1 shot on target for The Hammers told the story.

25th Oct

Premier Division

Wigan 1-1 West Ham

West Ham scored a late equaliser to defy Wigan the points at the JJB. Returning Craig Bellamy got the goal, only to be stretchered off again with a hamstring injury, which would eventually rule him out for another month.

1st Nov

Premier Division

West Ham 2-0 Derby

Elsworth's men got their first win in 5 games against 8th placed Derby. Central midfielder, Scott Parker scored a goal from 25 yards out worthy of competing for the goal of the month award on the first day of the month, and Dean Ashton scored a penalty late on to secure the 3 points.

5th Oct

Euro Cup

Celtic 1-1 West Ham

A fighting performance from a spirited West Ham side saw them come away from Parkhead with a good point in the Euro Cup. Bobby Zamora scored with a near post header on the 44th minute and sent the travelling Hammers fans into raptures. They held out until 81 minutes when left back, Lee Naylor was sent up for a corner by manager Gordon Strachan and headed in the leveller.

8th Nov

Premier Division

Newcastle 2-1 West Ham

In-form striker Rolando Bianchi scored a first half brace for Newcastle as they hung on to a precious 3 points. Bobby Zamora scored a goal to peg The Magpies back just before half time with a fierce strike from a narrow angle but prolonged second half pressure wasn't enough to score another goal.

Comments

"When I joined I just wanted to make my WH side competitive and hard to beat and I think I've succeeded in this. We've conceded 12 in 13 games and if you take the Tottenham and Juventus game out, it's 5 in 11 games so I'm happy there. With Anton Ferdinand to come back to full fitness, Rob Green to maintain his standard of performance and Matt Taylor to arrive in January, I'm hoping this could get even better.

These sessions outlined how important Craig Bellamy is to my side at the minute. He played three games out of the ten that were played and scored in each and we looked a much better team with a striker with pace. This means that I will sign a striker in January. Also, we lacked some creativity from the wings and this will be an area to look at also."

Look every Wednesday for West Ham United progress

I am delighted after finishing the first half of season with 37 pts only defeat to Everton and the mighty Arsenal. Hopefully the team can build on this and avoid the ‘second season syndrome’. If needed, I can add some flair in the midfield and some fire-power up front in January if need be.

End of session headlined by the fans popular Dmitar Berbatov who will leaving the club for Jack’s Everton for 15 M. We looked a much better team with a striker with pace and for ‘Darren Bent I trust!!’ With only Giles Barnes to play the all rounder midfield role, I need to bring in a new creative force in January.

My First peace of business in the next session will be to head towards the transfer market and try a bring in 1 or 2 new player who I hope will provide a much needed backup. My main aim will be to sign a goalkeeper.

Needless to say, the fans are a bit skeptical with all the going on at White Hart Lane over the few days after the Berbatov Saga. icon13.gif

Manager Comments

Much better night tonight, the results went my way. Had to give Shevchenko another leave of absence but hopefully he will sort his problems out properly this time. We’re into December now with the transfer window looming and my new signings will be arriving soon to help the momentum for the title.

Sunderland Report (Server 2)

Firstly i'd like to thank you all as i am a new manager to the clan and i look forward to getting as much glory as possible.

So i start my managerial career at 8pm 31st Januar 2008, unfortunately Sunderland drew the short straw and i became there manager just as the January transfer window is about to open. Im starting this career as a learning curve and it appears like it will be a very steep one at that with Sunderland edging towards the Championship sat in 16th place.

Well here are the events of my first few weeks in charge......

3 games played so far..

Sunderland 0 - 0 Derby (F A Cup)

(This game was a walk in the park for the black cats yet due to a lack of fire power we came away goalless and have it all to do at pride park)

Sunderland 1 - 2 Man City (Prem)

(Once again another decent performance from my side yet we still lacked any real fire power and any presence in the middle of the pitch, with the transfer window fast approaching i can sense a good end to the season after this game)

Bolton 1 - 1 Sunderland (Prem)

(This game was extremely open and could have gone either way, with Bolton taking the lead unexpectedly we had it all to to in the 2nd half and with our new signing Danny Haynes equalising midway through i thought we could take all 3 points but it wasnt to be)

Transfers In

David James - 200k

Danny Haynes - 2.5m

Erick Edman - 500k

Matty Upson - 2.2m

Well, no players have yet left the Stadium of Light but there is still 2 weeks left in the transfer window and Sunderland are still prowling in the transfer market with Gabby Agbonlahor the main target what will the outcome be? My opinion so far is that we can comfortably stay in this league and look to puch for mid table this season.

31st & 5th February

22nd Nov

Premier Division

West Ham 2-1 Reading

West Ham survived late Reading pressure to secure three points at Upton Park. Mark Noble and Freddie Ljungberg both scored 20 yarders as they bounced back from their St. James' Park defeat.

29th Nov

Premier Division

Middlesbrough 1-1 West Ham

Craig Bellamy's early goal was canceled out quickly as The Hammers drew away to Middlesbrough. Both goals were inside the first 10mins and the next piece of action was when Boro's Robert Huth pulled down a through on goal Dean Ashton in the 90th minute and saw red.

3rd Dec

Euro Cup

West Ham 0-0 Maritimo

In a must win game for West Ham to be able to progress, The Hammers disappointed the home crowd with a poor performance against a Portugese side there for the taking. Bobby Zamora's header against the bar in the opening 5 mins was the closest West Ham come, but the gap between Getafe and West Ham going into the final group game was unassailable.

6th Dec

Premier Division

West Ham 3-0 Norwich

Goals from Danny Gabbidon, Abou Diaby and Craig Bellamy grabbed all three points at home to Norwich. Stand in centre-half Gabbidon not only scored but played very well defensively and increased competition for places at the back.

13th Dec

Premier Division

Stoke 0-3 West Ham

A Craig Bellamy hat-trick in the first 44mins sealed Stoke's downfall and meant West Ham took all the points. Clinical finishing from in-form Bellamy made sure West Ham didn't have to score when he was taken off at half time due to a minor recurrence of his hamstring trouble.

17th Dec

Euro Cup

Getafe 2-1 West Ham

Samuel Holmens' goal on his first appearance under new manager Jamie Elsworth was not enough as West Ham succumbed to a last minute loss in their final group game in the Euro Cup. Holmen is likely to depart in the January transfer window as he doesn't look like he is in Elsworth's plans.

26th Dec

Premier Divison

Man Utd 1-1 West Ham

A fantastic team performance from West Ham wasn't enough to take 3 points from Old Trafford. Substitute Frazier Campbell's last minute equaliser sunk the West Ham hearts after Craig Bellamy scored a 30 yard goal on the hour mark. A mammoth display from Robert Green, Anton Ferdinand and Danny Gabbidon at the back reduced Ronaldo, Rooney and co. to long range efforts before Campbell's late effort beat the resillient Hammers' back four

Comments

"Another solid double session for me. Conceding 5 goals in 7 games is just the sort of record I wanted when I came here. Craig Bellamy is keeping up his fantastic goal scoring record whilst I've been here. We also managed to score 10 goals which is more than I anticipated. Making sure the team is solid in defence can mean sacrificing goals but it looks like we are doing ok in that area, and being before the January transfer arrivals makes it even more satisfying.

Taking of the window. the next game should see David Bentley and Matt Taylor make their debuts. We have a British core in this team and I don't want to disrupt that halfway through the season. I plan to bring in a striker, be it on a permanent or on loan and then we should be set to mount a challenge for a UEFA Cup spot. We are 7th at the minute but only 4 points behind 3rd spot so expectations may rise as the season goes on."

Look every Wednesday for West Ham United progress

Arsenal Team Report (Session Date: 07th February 2008)

Premier League:

Sunderland vs Arsenal 0:4

Agüero (1, 4 & 27), Fabregas (50)

Red Card Gallas (88)

The game was over after 4 minutes, but Sunderland had a very strong second half.

Arsenal vs Birmingham 2:0

Toure (10), Van Persie (20)

A solid match from Arsenal.

Arsenal vs Reading 1:0

Eduardo (45)

Another weak appearance from Arsenal after the League Cup Final defeat but with a better end.

Newcastle vs Arsenal

Hleb (19 & 67), Agüero (62 & 90)

Elmander (10, 74 & 81)

What a game!!!

FA Cup:

Arsenal vs Stoke

Adebayor (pen 3), Bendtner (34 & 76)

Sidibe (58)

Red Card Gallas (57)

Through to the Quarter Final at Preston…

Champions League:

Zaragoza vs Arsenal 0:1

Agüero (76)

More than expected in this close game.

Arsenal vs Zaragoza 4:1

Adebayor (3, 15 & 83), Eduardo (49)

Santana (12)

A great performance from Adebayor and Frey secures the quarter final.

League Cup Final:

Arsenal vs Everton 0:1

Park (41)

The worst game of the season so far with a dubious referee decision denying Arsenal a clear penalty.

Sessions Summary:

A great session for the title hopes in the Premier League. With 10 games to go I am 5 points in front of Manchester United and 7 points of Liverpool.

Good games versus Zaragoza sent me to the quarter final of the competition.

The FA Cup quarter final at Preston is a must-win, so we are preparing for the semi-final and are hoping for a second chance at Wembley this season…

So far so good, but the League Cup Final defeat to Everton was bitter. I never saw my team play so poor and ineffectively.

10 Points clear at the top of the premiership and every single match I have played this week I have won which makes me a very happy boy. I had to sell Petr Cech which is a downer, it was either sell him now or risk him going on a free. However the money I got for him was well spent and now I have a better Keeper in Sebastien Frey. If my team can keep this form up then I think we can secure the premiership before May.

The second transfer market saw me secure a couple of great deal, Kevin Doyle for £7.25m and Bogdan Stancu for £4.8m. With the majority of the focus being on building for next season European campaign, I just hoped for a steady performance in the remaining 10 games, and only promised that I would qualify for Europe through the league. Unfortunately the current ambitious spurs’ board are still unhappy with my performance especially after that nightmare first season icon_frown.gif.

I guess I need something that will instantly

7th & 12th February

10th Jan

Premier Division

West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

Steven Gerrard scored two headers for Liverpool to defeat Jamie Elsworth's West Ham. Gerrard's third man runs were too hot to handle for his marker, Scott Parker and it cost the team as the two goals were decisive.

14th Jan

Premier Division

Bolton 2-3 West Ham

A late winner from Craig Bellamy saw West Ham grab a desreved victory against a dogged Bolton Wanderers. Two early goals from Freddie Ljungberg meant West Ham went into the second half 2 goals up but El-Hadji Diouf scored his own brace to peg The Hammers back before Bellamy struck.

17th Jan

Premier Division

West Ham 2-1 Blackburn

Dean Ashton scored a brace as West Ham got a win at Upton Park against Blackburn. Ashton was clinical in front of goal, finishing a goal from 20 yards and from the spot from 12 yards. Sandwiched in between these goals was a Blackburn equaliser, but it was not enough.

24th Jan

FA Cup 4th Round

Bradford 0-1 West Ham

West Ham advanced through to the 5th round of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win over Bradford. Dean Ashton scored a tap-in from a Matthew Etherington cross to secure victory based on a solid display.

28th Jan

Premier Division

Aston Villa 0-0 West Ham[/b]

A game with very little action ended in a bore draw. Aston Villa had the majority of the possession and shots but Rob Green stood tall to secure another clean sheet for West Ham and an away point against a fellow top half side.

31st Jan

Premier Division

West Ham 0-0 Portsmouth

Yet another solid display of defending kept Jimmy Briand, Theo Walcott etc. quiet and earned a point against a good attacking Portsmouth side. If West Ham kept them at bay they knew they had a chance of nicking a 1-0 but really didn't create a meaningful chance and settled for the point.

7th Feb

Premier Division

Chelsea 0-0 West Ham

In a game that was pretty quiet throughout, West Ham kept a third consecutive clean sheet - but failed to score for the third game running. Rob Green, subject to a rejected January transfer bid from Tony Hall's Chelsea, gave another good performance to keep out the likes of Lampard, Drogba and Pizzaro.

11th Feb

Premier Division

Arsenal 2-0 West Ham

West Ham's defensive resistant was breached as Matias Fernandes scored a double. West Ham, once again, offered little in front of goal in the first half but a change of formation in the second half meant David Bentley had a good chance and set up Mido for a header but it was all to no avail.

14th Feb

FA Cup 5th Round

Everton 2-0 West Ham

West Ham were sent crashing out of the FA Cup by Everton at Goodison Park. A relatively weakened Hammers Side were no match for Everton and, in what Elswprth described post-match as their worst performance of the season, they yet again failed to hit the back of the net.

Comments

"Well, that was a mixed double session. The first session on the 7th February went well, getting 3 wins and a loss against a strong Liverpool side. But yesterday's session was horrible to watch. I didn't score a goal, but did manage to get 3 draws; it's a good job I have a strong back five. I'm not creating much in front of goal, but four of the five games I played in the goaless session were away so hopefully I can get some home games and some goals under my belt. I bought Mido for 200k late in the January Window just to bring in another striker and shake it up, but I haven't scored since bringing him. I may need to have a change in away tactics against sides that I expect to win against. I'm doing ok against the big sides away, getting draws against Man Utd and Chelsea twice, but I just need some extra spark. Maybe I'll have to wait until next season and bring some of my own players in, seeing as though this is still mainly the previous manager's squad."

Look every Wednesday for West Ham United progress

Been a good week this week with only two poor performances. One being the 2-0 loss against Man Utd and the second being a 2-0 loss against Lyon. 7 points clear of second place Man Utd and things are going according to plan. The new signings are settling in well. Will have to work hard to get myselde to come back against Lyon and get to the semi final of the Champions League.

Arsenal Team Report (Session Date: 14th February 2008)

Premier League:

Arsenal vs Sheff Utd 3:1

Agüero (12 & 53), Bendtner (87)

Castroman (21)

A close game till Agüero made his second and eventually Bendtner is going to score. No leading the Premier League with 8 points…

Blackburn vs Arsenal 2:1

Diaby (17), Adbayor (42)

Khizhanisvili (9)

Just enough to secure the three points, so you win the title. Liverpool and Man Udt both lost at home, makes it 11 points.

Arsenal vs Watford 4:0

Agüero (32 & 57), Rosicky (65), Bendtner (80)

Good game and another two goals from Agüero.

Liverpool vs Arsenal 2:0

Defoe (30), Gerrard (37)

Till the goals Arsenal were much better, and afterwards too…damn.

Arsenal vs Tottenham 4:0

Van Persie sent off after 3 minutes for a foul at the opposing corner flag, I never saw such a stupid thing.

Walcott (30 & 36), Hleb (pen 40), Bendtner (80)

A sensational win down to ten men for almost the entire match. Walcott intercepted the ball twice to sent Arsenal in heaven. Man Utd drew at Sheffield and Liverpool lost at Reading (they are now definitely out of the race for the title).

FA Cup:

Preston vs Arsenal 0:2

Van Persie (31), Bendtner (74)

Not a single shot from Preston…

Arsenal – Reading 1:0

Fabregas (60)

And in a close game it was Fabregas to sent us in the second final this year.

Champions League:

Bremen vs Arsenal 1:3

Eduardo (14), Rosicky (26), Agüero (35)

Rosenberg (31)

Simply brilliant…

Arsenal vs Bremen 2:2

Agüero (1 & 28)

Carlos Alberto (76 & 92)

Just enough for the semi final, disappointing.

Sessions Summary:

Waiting for the FA Cup Final against Portsmouth, the Champions League Semi Final against Bayern München and the game at Old Trafford to secure the League Title (7 points ahead of Man Utd and a game in hand, and five games to play).

Great session.

It’s been a great week for me. My players have done me proud, after two years of waiting I’ve finally added a Premiership Title to my collection. Next season I shall be aiming to win one of the domestic cups and a European Trophy. I will be getting rid a few of the players during the summer and strengthening the squad with a couple of signings.

"Tottenham seal Huntelaar deal"

Tottenham Hotspur have signed Klaas Jan Huntelaar from FC Porto for £25 million.

The Achterhoek-born striker, who turns 26 in August, was linked with several top clubs, including Juventus and Manchester United during the summer transfer window and has opted to join Spurs. Huntelaar, who made regular appearances for Ajax and FC Porto, became the most expensive Tottenham’s player in history.

"I'm just excited to be coming to a such a great club, a massive club like Tottenham Hotspur," said Huntelaar.

"Spurs is a club pushing forward and I want to be part of its future."

Tottenham manager Ahmad Rashwan added: "We have been following Klaas for a long time now and have been very tenacious, so we are absolutely delighted to get him here.

"He is a player of great quality and, as we always say, our aim in each window is to improve the quality of the squad. He has the ideal combination to become a superstar player for this club."

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ahmad “The Doctor†Rash was coming with praise for his players after they beat Sunderland 1-0 at Stadium of Light and restored their lead over Manchester United by goal difference at the top of the English Premiership.

Ledley King scored the only goal at the 18th minute after just return from injury.

“I am proud with the team performance so far and Klaas Jan Huntelaar was absolutely fantastic ,†Rash said.

janhuntelaaryk7.jpg

“The boy has come up great, he's got courage to play and always wants the ball. Of course he need more time to settle with his new teammate and with new crowd atmosphere . In the early part of the match I thought he was a bit nervous but he got more of the ball and was more comfortable,†he added.

“To win away from home at a tough place like this is a great result for us. We knew at the back we could exploit them with pace and strength up front so we wanted to get the ball forward and we managed to do that.â€

Tottenham Hotspur has now won 9 of their first 10 matches setting record for their best premiership start ever. icon14.gificon_cool.gif

Manager Comments

Those were very successful session, my title defence is well and truly underway. Did have quite a bit of a clearout of the players who were not making it into the side. I will be hoping to sell a few more come the January transfer window.
