This is a very minor issue but worth mentioning as it was slightly immersion breaking to go seven months without playing a game before an international tournament.
Playing as England- there were no dates available to play a friendly in March 2024 ahead of the Euros that summer. After playing my final qualifiers in November 2023, my next game was a warm-up for the tournament itself in June 2024.
I assume in real life the nations which aren’t in the playoffs for the Euros (this international window happened as planned for those nations), would play one or two friendlies in that usual March window. After regularly checking, the option to arrange a friendly then was greyed out and stayed unavailable.
