Playing as Llanidloes in the second Welsh division.

The save file attached will load the game on 16th January 2024. The total wage budget is £52936p/a, and current spend is £49504.

I am trying to re-sign a contract with Faisu Sangare who is on my team currently. His current contract is a non-contract, £120 per appearance. Upon open negotiations to renew, the players wants the same player time and contract as he has currently. But the board will only allow me to offer £100 per appearance, which is less than the current contract. It does not make sense that teh baord would not allow the player the same contract while we are spending considerably under the wage budget.

My only thought is that for non-contract signing, the board is not considering the current wage budget contribution of the existing contract, so therefore this new contract is as if I was signing a new player, in addition to the current contract.

    To replicate

    - Load save file Llandidoes - Sangare

-Check current contract of Faisu Sangare, confirm £120 per appearance

-Open contract negotiations, agree star player time, the opening offer will be his current contract of £120 appearance fee, but will be red due to board restriction

You are able to negotiate a new contract by putting in goal bonuses etc to raise the value, which actually costs the club more according to the wage budget contribution than his previous contract, which you're not allowed to offer. This also does not make sense as far as I can make it.

    To check second file

    - Load save file Llandidoes Sangare new contract

-Navigate to Faisu Sangare and check contract offer

When you look at the wage budget currently, you only have an extra £66 to spend per week, which is the equivalent to less than one starting player - that is perhaps why the board are a bit more hesitant to renew the current contract as it stands, and have it more incentivised via goal bonus'.

Still, it's one I'll ask the team to take a look at and review further.

That would make sense if it was a new incoming player, but not for renewing an existing players who's current contract is already calculated within the current wage spend.

So it's as if the board is viewing that contract negotiation as a new player and not a renewal.

    Thanks for looking into it.
