    I don't actually know the champions league rules off hand, but you can check them in the rules page in the game (think its under the overview dropdown theere)

    My guess is the champions league rule is head to head results first

    There was nothing in the rules overview in game, but I googled it and you're right - yep, it's head-to-head...cheers for the reply.
