After being promoted from League 2 to League 1 in Indonesia by winning the Third Place Playoff, I was asked in the press conference immediately afterwards about whether my team was at a disadvantage due to finishing a couple of weeks later (see below). However, being promoted by the Third Place Playoff in Indonesia is not a significant time handicap, so this question is inappropriate.
A quick break-down of the rules for League 2: the teams that win their Semi Final (in my game played on 19 and 20 November) are promoted automatically, but still have to play the Final to determine the League 2 champion (in my game this took place on 27 November). The teams that lose their Semi Final play in the Third Place Playoff, with the winner gaining the remaining promotion spot. The Third Place Playoff took place on 26 November in my game.
So those teams that won their Semi Final had just 1 week more preparation time than I did to prepare for being in League 1 next season, AND still had to play a match one day after me to determine the League 2 champion. Furthermore, League 1's season starts at the beginning of April, so all the promoted teams basically get 4 months to prepare, and 1 week either way almost certainly wouldn't make any difference. On that basis, I don't think it makes sense to be asked the question below.
