  • Too difficult to get even a basic coaching badge

    I'm managing in Portugal. I started with Sunday League rep and no badges. I've been at the club for 1119 days, have overseen one promotion from the lowest league and general stabilty in the 3rd tier. We've had negative bank balance for the entire time, so I haven't been able to get a single coaching badge. This summer (2027) I've finally got into the black, and the board will not even let me get the National C coaching badge, because they "don't want to lose me to a bigger club". I reloaded my save, signed a new 2 year contract (to try and show stability) and still get refused.

    This is insane. What club literally won't let their manager get a single badge. The first one costs like £400. It's even more frustrating because this isn't even how it works in real life. I'm a favoured personel at the club. This is overtuned way too much to be an unfun and overly gamey roadblock.


    To reproduce, just ask my board to let me do a coaching badge.

    It's now 2030. I just got promoted to the Portuguese 2nd division - have been at the club for 2192 days. Just got refused a National C coaching badge again.

    This is absolutely insane, SI. A response would be nice.

    If you have an additional save from the later date, as you've progressed quite quickly we can review that as well. That would further help understand the board decision making in the background. The QA team will investigate what is happening with the file you have provided.

    Thanks for the reply. I've uploaded another save called "Leca no badge.fm". It's right at the beginning of the 2030/31 season and the option to request a coaching badge is available.
