Private Chat is broken

I'm really frustrated at the moment so bear with me!

Currently managing Brighton in 16/17, they had been relegated to League 1 the previous season and I took over in Sep after they had a terrible start. It's now Jan '17 and my keeper David Stockdale came to me to ask if he could join Leeds. I asked him what it would take to keep him and he responded that promotion would be enough.

Now here's the important part, I'm 1st at the time of this conversation yet the only options I have to respond to him are:

1) Give me a year to gain promotion.

2) We might make the promotion spots.

This is absolutely crazy, I'm bloody 1st?! seriously, how stupid can this be?

Surely, I should be able to respond saying "Yes David, We're sitting first in good form, we will be promoted".

It's affecting squad harmony and morale and to be honest it's ********.

Why is it like this?
