  1. Right so this problem has plagued me for years and I'm literally playing my Ajax save right now and suffering from it and decided I'd raise it because I believe I have an elegant solution that only requires either one more tab in the tactics page or one more box on the overview tab... So usually I have a defensive and an attacking tactic that usually uses the same players but my problem is always making the players go where I want when I switch tactics. This save it's my DM always gets moved to AMC and vice versa. I have to switch the players around every time I change it which over the course of a save, and two decades of playing FM is trillions of clicks and hundreds of years of my life stolen from me. I've tried moving the actual positions around but then they lose all their settings usually so I have to redo them then someone when I change back it gets all messed with the other tactic or a new tactic if I add a third one and it's all just generally a pain in the ass. Especially when I'm loading tactics from other saves. Like yeah, I could rebuild them from scratch but then what's the point in saving them and loading them? So my solution is page where each position has a number 1-11 and you can move that around "outside" of the tactics and flick through them and see how they move and say e.g in my case I want my 8 to be 6 and the 9 and 7 to switch around and so on for all my tactics so I only need to do it once when I make my tactic, not 9,001 times a season. Even in the rare conditions I manage to make tactics where this isn't a problem it usually comes up in the new year when I have to rip up my tactics. Elegant. Henry Henderson would be proud. It makes the tactics drop-down in games actually useful now too. I assume I can add it to the list of additions I've got in the game over the years?
  2. I've heard it's more likely if you're doing a 'Real World' start. Perhaps because their budgets will be higher and it's not factoring in pending deals... Edit: I always do Original and can't get rid of any United players, never mind fat bids from Saudi.
  3. Is there any technical reason why FM cannot use the GPU to speed up the processing of games? I was playing away waiting for a day to pass and it occurred to me: During processing the GPU is doing next to nothing because the match engine is not running and the UI is not particularly intensive. I have a 4090. I use it to run Machine Learning algorithms. I'm confident it is considerably more powerful than the 8700K I have for a CPU. Any discrete GPU (even a weak one) not being used is wasted processing power. Would it be possible to dump some of the work onto there to decrease processing times? Has it been tried and failed?
  4. Transfers - I'd like to be able to sign a player with a buyback and immediately sell them without it being a huge drama, like as part of the promises section say you'll sell them to the other team that made a bid that is higher than your buyback to do a quick flip. This happens IRL but in FM this is very difficult. Generally speaking the 'I just signed a new contract/moved clubs' effect is too strong because it's absolute. QoL - I'd also like to (I keep meaning to ask this for years) have an option to have percentage of next profit and sale both be set to removed from negotiations by default along with all the other ones you can set in the area where you do that. I hardly ever use them and 99% of my transfer I block the because it just results in trash fees most of the time. If I want to use them I can go in and add them in before I bid. Also if we could just automatically have the players set to the physios recommended training level that'd be helpful Loans (again a longtime desire) - As an example if I offer a player to every club in Spain with no fee and no wage requirements (I'm trying to get a passport) I expect to get offers. That EVERY club in a country would refuse a completely free player with no baggage is absurd and unrealistic. Even add an option to pay THEM to take the player to get the work permit. Also as an aside, it'd be nice you could sort countries by the time it takes to get a permit for that player and specifically target affiliates to get work permits which you can only kind of vaguely do as it stands (and boards should be very open to if you don't already have one). Staff - They're too attached to preferred role to the point of ridiculousness. The amount of times I've found a great staff who has all his coaching badges and great coaching stats but is say a... technical director... My guy.... if I offer you 5k a week to move from Bolivia where you're unemployed to Manchester to be my U19 GK coach you're taking it or you're getting a divorce the next day and losing custody of the kids. It just wouldn't happen. Money and unemployment needs to have much more weight in negotiations than it currently does.
