Lost in the laptop somewhere...

Help!

I bought the game this weekend and loaded up today. Only, when I save and exit the game I have no short cut on my desk top or have an icon within my programmes to start the game again.

I have the files downloaded and can find the save file but on selecting this it wants to know which programme to start this file with, and the two choices don't help.

Once its loaded up, the only option I have to get back in the game is to uninstall and reload, but then I'm left with the same problem.

Am I being spectacularly redundant of mind on this? Please help!
