Shane_Byram
I've heard loads of people praise FM11 due to how quick it runs, yet it doesn't seem to be too fast on my laptop. My OP is Vista, I hav plenty of free memory and have 1GB RAM. My processor is Intel Celeron CPU 570 @ 2.26GHz 2.27 GHz. On the star rating when I load a game, even with only all the England leagues I have half a star for Computer Performance and half a star for Game Speed. Does anybody have any tips for how I can make my laptop better to improve the running of the game?
TheGulls
Buy a new one, seriously a celeron processor is low end, you have the bare minimum ram and vista is slow. I imagine you also have an intergrated graphics card as well, you are facing an uphill battle. Sorry.
matthewsoles
Yea mine's got similar spec, Shane, though I have 2gb RAM. The demo was slow as fudge on mine, I formatted my laptop before getting the full game and it seems better, but I really need to invest in a new one... drummy9
Had the exact same issue. Found out the problem, and I had made a school boy mistake. Hadn't removed version FM09 and 10. Its now running like a dream.... Perhaps you have made the same error?
TheGulls
Removing previous versions will not make any difference to speed, this is purely coincedence.
Shane_Byram
No, I don't have any previous versions installed. I've got barely anything on my laptop (apart from music and FM). Yeah, looks like I need a new one. Pity its this close to Christmas.
drummy9
Removing previous versions will not make any difference to speed, this is purely coincedence. Removed mine and the difference in speed was amazing....
wackettdagenham
1 GB of RAM while running vista, good luck with that playing FM2011 at a reasonable rate. Yes it is getting near xmas, but shops will be having sales soon so you might get a bargin.
Shane_Byram
Yeah, it runs okay but goes slow when processing massive amounts of international fixtures or the match engine
TheGulls
Removed mine and the difference in speed was amazing.... All I'm saying is space on your hard drive has nothing to do with speed unless you had very minimal space in the first place. But well done all the same. MrBones
My laptop has a poor star rating. I just ignored it and picked 12 leagues, 2 of them active, which gives me plenty players and it runs really fast. I also have 3d on the highest level even though the star rating suggests I have half a star for 3d. Wouldn't pay too much attention to the star ratings
