every time i try and start a new game, the game crashes on mac

as the title suggests, ive kept trying to start a villarreal game and once i ve set up the leagues and databaes and press confirm, itll load for about 30 seconds then crash, saying football manager has unexpectedly quit. i had used the editor before i started the game but i have done that before and had no problems.

any help will be much appreciated
