has the game lost something? or have i changed????

the first manager game i owned was champ man 2001/02 and played for 3 whole years. i had it so long i actually had a full playing career as well. i put myself in it as a 17 year old and had 20 long seasons right up to year 2021/22 where i played for chelsea, ac milan, barca, and as i was winding down my playing career played for nottm forest, willem ii, celtic ... yes i was a true geek

i clocked up 1138 apps and 856 goals !!!! won the world player of the year 8 times....also helped ireland to the 2012,2016 euros and the 2014 world cup !!!!! where i earned 178 caps and 130 goals ...i was the greatest player ever !!! and from 2022/23 - 2055/56 was a great manager !!!.....spent 13 years with forest where i won the league cup 4, fa cup 7, prem 5 , eufa cup 3, and champ league 4 and 7 super cup !!! !!!!... GEEEEEK !!!!!

it all came to a head some time in 2004 where my computer got a very bad virus (no thanks to porn)and had to wipe EVERY THING !!!!

when i got my com back the word was out that this new game call football manager 2005 was the dogs b*******. i wanted it to be great because i loved si games and sega !!!! so i got it, but it kept on crashing after the first season... so i stoped playing....got 2006 and 2007 but they wasn't much better but 2008 changed that. it was everything i wanted in a game from the first pre-season game something about it got me hooked again i played all year long and even if i had a college deadline or wit my girlfriend(yes i have one) i managed to play it here and there !!! the longest career i got out of it was 2034/35 or something .

for 2009 it just annoyed me. for 2006 2007 & 2009 the longest career i managed to get out of it was 3 seasons. i ether lost interest or something annoyed me ...like in 2008 racing winning la liga or liverpool & everton relegated in season 2009/10 !!!!!!

and its the same with 2010...as a whole 2010 is greater then all the manager games in the last 20 year bur for some reason i just cant get into it !!! i have it 6 weeks now and have lost count of the times i re-started a career. be it man city winning the league in the first season while man utd finished 10th or players history going missing!! or ...i have to say i have lost a bit of love for the game(football itself, not FM) seeing that im irish and what happened in THAT play-off. but still ...... am i the only one that have lost interest as i got older !!!!!!

As we have gotten older our real life priorities have changed, and what most of us are looking for is a quick entertainment hit. Something that could be said is lacking in the modern versions as they have evolved into more technical tactical applications.

Don't get me wrong I still enjoy playing the game, but I just don't have the time or energy to devote countless gaming hours to a career, so like you I just flit around saves.

I am in the same boat - I remember when you could literally stick the game on for 30 mins and get in a fair few games, whilst still tinkering a few things.

If I see a 30 min window of my time now, I simply choose to have a blast on Modern Warfare2. I know I will get 3 online matches in in 30 mins.

SI need to remember that the old fans from yonder years dont have the time to have 3 - 4 sessions any more. I supopse you could argue that the tactic creator has helped a little, however I can use the sliders very quickly now after using them for so long!

Quick entertainment...play 4 games, then the game crashes on you...argh

Even if i am getting older, i am still totally addicted. If i only play a match a day due to lesser time than then before, so be it, i am still coming back for more;).

But,,,this crash thingy happening at the moment, it is about to kill all interest,sadly.

Hope its fixed sooon...
