MIR17
Their should be a rating of the likelihood that teams will play reserve teams as their is for managers. As soon as SAF and Arsene leave ManUtd and Arsenal they start playing their first XI in the League Cup and winning it with ease every year, as do Chelsea. Come on, if in real life Mick McCarthy (of all people) got the ManUtd job he wouldn't play his first choice XI for a League Cup third round match with Huddersfield. Edit: Can some Mod change the title? It should be "League Cup" not "League Club"
Ezequiel_Lavezzi
I had a game recently in FM2010 where the computer played a lesser squad for their cup game.

Managers can have set tendencies to play lesser players in cup matches, but teams can't.

Ezequiel_Lavezzi
Ah, so you feel the TEAM should have a tendancy and not the manager. Isnt it the manager who decides however? The "Team" isn't really a single decision making entity. I think that automatically any club who makes it into Europe and has 2-3 cups to face, places reserve teams/youth players into the squads lesser cups.(maybe code it in that all managers do this, unless of course they want to win it all and feel they can handle the hard run).
