Crazy Paving Posted August 15, 2009 Share Posted August 15, 2009 I know this is a known issue and a well documented problem, but I just want to moan... I love long term games, FM08 I played 37 seasons with various clubs all over the FM world. However, I have just done 10 years with Malaga turning them into European giants with 3 consecutive Champions Leagues and league wins. So I left and took up the Arsenal job. They had 6 midfielders, 5 of who were 30 or over. So I got shut of 4 of them over 32 and brought in good mid 20's midfielders. After 12 months in charge and 2 cups I decided to leave, I looked back at their signings and they had purchased 4 32 year+ midfielders for stupid fees, £15m to £18m each. Can anyone explain to me why clubs are obsessed with signing old players for huge fees in FM09? This better be resolved in FM10 as it makes long term games unplayable.
