Candre168
My laptop just crashed, and corrupted my save. However, there seems to be a new thing (never seen this before) where the game automatically backups your save...meaning I recovered the save Is this a new feature? Seal Eagle
Has been since 07 I think.. at least 08. It basically works the way that when you save, instead of saving over your current save game file, it renames it to *name* (Backup).fm and when the current saving is done, the game deletes the backup file. This works very well, since if something happens during the saving process, the file will get corrupted, but the backup is still there. But I wouldn't count on this, use a rolling auto save, with a min 3 saves rolling.
The Havok
This feature saved my Newcastle save in FM 08 where I was in the Champions League Final with players like Messi and Silva playing for my team. This feature saved me much anger and my computer much punishment!
hamilton162
Yeah, it was implemented a few years ago to stop people complaining about corrupted files. You can change how many files it saves into and how often in the Preferences section in Options if you want so you don't lose that much progress
